06/22- Sox vs. Guards - The Return of Teel

Featured Replies

Haven't made a game thread this season. Now is as good a time as ever. Let's sweep these fucks!

No Gonzo. I get it. He is in a horrible slump. I don’t love taking Colson off short this much. He is simply better defensively than Acuna.

Unfortunately our manager thinks they're about equal.

Slump? I don't think he's batted well since he came up to Chicago lol

When Mune comes back he can go right back to AAA and beat up that pitching

Sweep? What sweep? It's Kyle Teel day baby! Good vibes all around LETS GO!

Story on the MLB.com site talking about the Tigers resurgence and how they may not be dealing Skubal now. They had this notation included in the story:

"the White Sox, one of the best early-season stories, are at 7.88 from their June starters, which would be one of the worst months of the last five years.

Their June "starter" splits will be messy because of how much they've used openers these past couple weeks. For example, that 7.88 ERA will include Eisert getting lit up for an inning, but not Burke shutting down the Yanks for 7+.

Martin, Kay, Fedde, Burke are at a combined 5.32 this month which is higher than you want but not ridiculous given the competition.

The offense felt like more of an issue than the rotation in Detroit, even the bullpen game was winnable if they could hit with RISP on the road.

They are 5-13 in their last 18 road games.

Colson at 3B and Acuna at SS. @Look at Ray Ray Run bout ta explode! 🤬

Lose a game because of something inexplicably dumb, and double down the next time out. Sure love to see that from your manager!

You make good points on openers greatly skewing here, but a 5.32 ERA is ridiculous. There are only 3 qualified starters in the MLB with a higher ERA. Competition doesn't mean your staff should be pitching in the bottom 3% of baseball combined.

I’m a little concerned about this series. Sox struggle against good starting pitching, and the Guardians strength is their starting pitching, as well as their bullpen.

As a 12-year-old me trolling the Goldblatt's record department loved the Ohio Players' album covers.
