I think this is my first time watching Kay pitch all year. Is he always this rough of a watch vibes wise?

Works slow, nothing aesthetically pleasing about his game, and just kind of an uptight presence to him overall.

He's one of those guys who regularly looks a little uncomfortable out there even when pitching well.

He's the poor man's version of Gavin Floyd.

That's our shortstop!!

Is Acuna figuring things out?

Antonacci got a pitch outside called a strike and he challenged it and won. Manzardo got one called outside a strike that looked like it missed just as much as the one to Antonacci and didnt challenge it. No big secret some umps are just worse calling certain locations.

It's never just about framing.

The Sox even cover ump hot/cold zones in their game prep, they look more for challenges in certain spots based on ump tendencies.

He was 100% blocking the plate. He was right to challenge it.
