    Sh*t My Dad Says

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 10:48 PM) I thought that was just a hispanic thing. Couple of my friends and their fathers say it all the time, but they are all hispanic. (hell I'm half hispanic and I don't even say it THAT much) Needless to say I was embarrassed to even hear him say it once.. Also, ive never heard a Mexican guy say cool beans..
  2. lol guys on the internet are hilarious

    Sh*t My Dad Says

I heard my dad use the phrase "cool beans" twice in the same convo when on a conference call once..
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 11:53 PM) Paulie needs to hit like 20+ to get in. He has over a month to hit 4 more to get to 20, its very likely he has 20+ by the AS Break.. still doubt that gets him in, but regardless I bet he has 20+ by then.. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 12:07 AM) Rios isn't currently in the top 15 in voting. Julio Borbon (.240/.255/.280, 0 HR, 13 RBI) is ahead of him. Konerko isn't currently in the top 5 in voting. Carlos Pena (.176/.296/.346, 8 HR, 60 K) is ahead of him. That doesn't mean anything, they wont be the leading vote getters at their pos. and wont make the team over Rios or Konerko if it came down to it..
  5. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) That is so very close to Awesome Kong. Easy fella, we aren't lookin for any lawsuits here
  6. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) Is that for real??? Sadly Howard and Utley are killin my fantasy teams.. and they got swept and shut out in each game by the Mets like last week.. plus a 1-0 Perfect Game and then losing 1-0 the next game.. that's 5 games right there with 1 run scored
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 09:16 AM) Your theory is wrong. Steve Stone himself has said numerous times on the Score that something else is going around the game, and that's why hitters like Vlad, Ortiz, and Tejada, among others, are seeing a revival to their careers. If there is some other enhancer going around for those reviving their career, then wouldn't that make my theory correct? Unless of course you are being sarcastic and im just missing it..
  8. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) My name can't even be somewhat cool? I sound like I'm an accountant. You are, that's your gimmick
  9. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 11:16 AM) I love how no one in the crowd reacts. Like this is something that normally happens. Its because they aren't f***in idiots and know you don't mess with a mexican wrestlers mask..

QUOTE (juddling @ Jun 4, 2010 -> 02:23 AM) Am i missing something???? I don't find Russell Brand funny in the slightest. I hope i'm not the only one. You're not, I hate that guy
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) I'll always remember his amazing catch against the Twins to win the play-in game for Seattle. Wasn't that Little Big League?
  12. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 10:59 PM) Jesus... my favorite player of all time (emulated his stance to hitting left-handed, to playing CF) is officially done. He and Frank I adored growing up. I actually teared up a bit hearing this. Its awesome that he was a Sox, even if it was for a very short time.. but awesome none the less
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 02:03 AM) The fact that there were only 17 in the history of the game coming into the 2009 season and less than a year and a half later we're looking at #21 is why I was rooting against him. How many people actually know that Jody Gerut hit for the cycle this year? Not many because it doesn't mean much anymore since they've become so common, 4 perfect games in a span of 9.5 months is just ridiculous and would be the beginning of the end for the perfect game. Perfect games are fun because they are so rare, once everyone starts throwing one they mean far less. When I heard he was perfect in the 9th on the radio earlier in my car I was like you've gotta be f***in kidding me, again, ALREADY?
  14. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 01:58 AM) Ya I'm an embarrassment because I want to see someone do something thats only happened 20 times in the last 100+ years. You've seen two this season already, you'll live..
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 01:51 AM) lol. Calm down. All I said was that I felt sorry for you because you're missing out on a lot. But you've made it clear you're a Sox fan only and not really a baseball fan. So that's fine. And honestly, I don't think we can catch Detroit. I was/am the most positive person on this entire board. But I think 50+ games is more than enough to get a good idea on what kind of team you have. I don't have to wait until the Sox are 12 games out with 20 to play to realize it's probably not meant to me. Now with that said, I will continue to support the team. I will continue to watch as many games as I possibly can. And I will always hold out hope. But at this point, I don't expect us to legitimately contend for the division this year. Of course, I'd LOVE to be wrong. Well first of all, I don't know why you said calm down.. I didn't know that post I made looked hostile? Secondly, I don't like it being referred to as im not a baseball fan, just a White Sox fan.. it makes it look like I don't know anything and just like a team just because.. Ive thought of different ways of putting it, but I cant put the words together for it.. either way, I do like baseball but im not one of those people who are going to watch a Cardinals game just to see Albert Pujols.. I don't care about that.. Anyways, is it really that believable that this team is going to hit .240 all season and the pitching is going to be this bad the rest of the way? I don't. Now that doesn't mean I think some unthinkable turnaround is going to happen, but its foolish to think there is no chance of that happening.. especially when it feels theres at least one team who does it every year.. 5 games back of Detroit, and we've played about as bad as we possibly could have so far..
  16. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 01:38 AM) Well I agreed with TRU in a sense is I just hate Detroit. see I don't hate Detroit, but I sure as hell don't wanna see them do good.. and I definitely don't want to have to see their team and Armando Gallaraga celebrate a perfect game on my TV for the next week or so.. there are very few teams that I can actually say I hate.. the Twins, Yankees, Cubs, Jets, Patriots, Cowboys, Red Wings, Lakers.. those are teams that I hate anyways, I never want to see anyone do good if its going to directly effect one of my teams.. I don't give a s*** how historic it is.. and if you rooted for him to throw that perfect game, you are an embarrassment..
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 01:29 AM) That's my point. You don't mind the Royals because you don't view them as a threat. Well the Sox are as irrelevant as irrelevant can be. So I don't really care what our rivals do, at least not like I would if we were actually a good team. This is what I don't get, you are going to get onto me for not liking non White Sox baseball yet when the Sox are suppose to be your team and they are not out of it by any means, regardless of how much they stink right now, the season is all but over for you.. Were only 5 games back of Detroit, so yes, I do fully believe that we could pass them.. will we catch the Twins? Probably not, but I think we could pass Detroit..
  18. QUOTE (OsweGo-Go Sox @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 01:29 AM) Jesus Christ, man. Are you sure you like baseball? You don't watch the playoffs, the World Series...anything? You've never tuned into ESPN's game of the week or anything? Have I ever watched a baseball game that wasn't the White Sox? Of course, ive gone to Astros games before and if there is nothing else on TV I will leave it on in the background as I do something else, but im not sitting in front of the TV gushing over Roy Oswalt or thinking "wow, that Lance Berkman is one heck of a ballplayer" That s*** is W-E-A-K in my opinion.. If the Sox aren't in the playoffs, you bet im not watching.. like I care who wins the World Series, if its not the Sox I just don't care.. I just cant get excited about a game if its not the Sox.. And its not just baseball, its any sport.. My teams are my teams, I don't watch a game because a certain player is exciting, that's not why I watch sports.. I watch for my teams
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 3, 2010 -> 12:06 AM) I feel sorry for you. I'm with you as far as wanting our rivals to fail spectacularly. But there are so many exciting players and teams out there. I could never limit myself to White Sox only. Especially this POS Sox team. Why would you feel sorry for me? Because I don't want to watch a non Sox game because you think those players are exciting? Or the teams? Its more unbelievable that there are people here rooting for him to throw that perfect game, regardless of how depressed the Sox are making everyone feel.. Thats who I feel sorry for, I would never root for a rival team to do anything like that..
  20. Its because of the steroid crack down, get use to hitting going downhill
  21. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 11:03 PM) I can't believe theres actually people who would root against a perfect game just because of the team throwing it. You're joking right? Why would I want to see him throw a perfect game? I guess I am in the minority here but I don't give a s*** about anyone other than the White Sox.. im not watching a baseball game that does not involve the White Sox, nor do I have any desire to. I want every AL central team that is not from Chicago to fail, and fail miserably.. or in this case, hilariously..
  22. QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 08:39 PM) Well, shooting is a little extreme, but I would fire Walker for sure and get rid of Kotsay, Vizquel, Williams, Teahen, Pierre, and Nix. Oh, the thread is who should get a shot. Ahhh...different story now... I dont see any reason to get rid of Teahen.. he was hitting pretty good before getting hurt, and even so you could find somewhere else for him to play outside of 3B if his defense is that much of a problem..
  23. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 08:22 PM) Really? I don't see it. I see him being a hotdog and being a lazy ass when the camera's not on him. Maybe I'm wrong.... I think you are wrong.. If LeBron was selfish hed prolly be scoring 35+ a game.. hes been surrounded by trash his whole career..
  24. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) Buster O'Houlihan haha man I haven't laughed so hard at a made up name in a long time
