  3. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) What has gload ever done that you do not him? Hitting over .300 last year with excellent defense at first apparently does not make you likeable. I hate Buehrle, Konerko, and Shingo...

I can't find any current stats of him, so I'm just wondering...its not like we use Cotts all that much anyway... I would prefer Adkins over Cotts, but Cotts is a LH, I think thats why hes sticking around...

  7. [Miami Herald] The Dolphins are focused on drafting Utah quarterback Alex Smith with the second overall pick, but Miami also is in discussions with at least one team about trading that selection. One source said Thursday that head coach Nick Saban has decided Smith would be the best pick for Miami at No. 2, assuming California quarterback Aaron Rodgers is drafted by San Francisco. But two league sources also confirmed the Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have discussed a possible trade involving both teams' first-round selections and other considerations. The Bucs, who pick fifth overall, are apparently equally enamored with the idea of selecting Smith at No. 2. Tampa Bay's brain trust decided last weekend Smith is a better prospect than Rodgers. The Bucs' interest became more serious Thursday after it seemed likely the 49ers will take Rodgers, leaving Smith available. The 49ers had contract discussions with agent Mike Sullivan, who represents Rodgers, on Wednesday, and the discussions reportedly laid a positive foundation for a deal. Tom Condon, who represents Smith, was scheduled to fly to San Francisco on Thursday to try to lay a similar foundation for his client, but the league sources say that session doesn't offer the same prospect for success as the one with Rodgers' agent. Assuming that scenario holds, the Bucs want to move up. But the price, as with all such trades, would be the subject of intense negotiations. The Dolphins, like all other NFL teams, have a trade-value chart that outlines the price for trading draft picks. Saban said two weeks ago he would ''absolutely'' go by that chart in deciding the value of a trade. And according to most such charts, Tampa Bay would have to give up its first, second and third-round picks this year to move up three slots to Miami's spot. The teams also might discuss exchanging draft picks next year should the Bucs balk at making the three-for-one deal now. The Dolphins also are going to try to involve other teams in the bidding process to drive up the price of a trade, although it is unclear whether any other team has stepped forward. So what if that all fails? Smith, who visited with Saban and other team staffers Wednesday and Thursday, according to Condon, is the apparent choice.
  8. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 12:05 PM) If Edwards goes to SF and Smith goes to Mia, Cle will take Rodgers. That leaves Brown AND Williams as choices by the Bears. WOW. SF has already begun negotiating with Rodgers and so far everything seems like he will be there man, they are really high on Rodgers from what I have heard
  9. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) FOUR picks? Boy, Gruden must not have much confidence in Griese or Simms. Yeah 4 picks.... to move up to the #2 spot it would require TB's #1 and either their number one next year and a 2/3 round pick or their #1 this year a 2nd and 2 3rds It all has to do with the Value chart... TB has like 15 picks as it is so if they want Smith bad enough it will get done EDIT: OK technically 3 picks, because they would be swapping firsts
  10. Mets beat me 2 - 0 I need to adjust the sliders... im 14 - 6 and in the first month so far I have 6 shutouts... My hitting is fine, its realistic.. but I need to make the computer be able to score more runs

  12. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) Unlike some of the pundits, I think that Smith is the top QB in the draft. Not only did he win with mediocre talent around him at Utah and put up an incredible show at the Combine, but he did very well academically in college and had like a 39 on the Wunderlic test. You can't go wrong with that combination of talent and intelligence at the QB position. You are very correct, he is a very smart player and an athlete.. I would love for him to be on the Dolphins but if we can get 4 picks for him, hell, I would do that trade..
  13. dammit I got beat... but this is a diff color
  14. Dont read too much into that... Miami is expressing interest in Alex Smith to try and get Tampa Bay to trade up with them... Miami as of right now only has 5 picks in the draft, (1,3,4,5,7) and Saban desperatly wants to add more picks.. As of right now I see it as a smoke screen.. If Miami does draft Alex Smith, I could see them working out a trade similair to what NY and SD did last year.. I do have Miami taking Smith though in my mock draft, because I kinda felt this was gonna happen..
  15. QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 08:14 AM) HA, he's about 400 pounds too thin to be the Big Slow! That's a tall drink o' water, though....taller doesn't necessarily = better, as Giant Gonzalez and Shawn Bradley have proven. Yeah Undertaker kicked Giant Gonzalez ass at Wrestlemania back in the day
