  1. Buddy Bell talks Danks' defense, Knights Stadium and others The White Sox hosted a conference call for Web sites and blogs with Director of Player Development Buddy Bell. Among the topics discussed were Jordan Danks' defense and Charlotte making adjustments to their stadium. Here's the cliff notes version of what he said.
  2. There were 6 releases yesterday. I'm trying to figure out who they all are, but Sergio Morales is one of them.
  3. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 12:36 AM) My keepers: Ellsbury Fielder Gallardo Hanson Debating between Danks, Bay, Porcello, Rivera for last keeper. Up for trade. Officially going with Porcello. Gallardo, Hanson, Porcello with Fielder and Ellsbury.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 23, 2010 -> 08:08 AM) Good article. 2010 is hardly a make or break season for Dayan though. I agree, but we're going to learn a lot more about him this season than we did last season.
  5. 2010 FutureSox Preview: Corner Infielders In this next installment of the FutureSox season preview, we look corner infield, where the Sox have two of their best prospects manning the same position, and another trying to climb his way up the prospect rankings.
  6. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 22, 2010 -> 08:10 AM) Nolan Smith is a very good all-around player and defender, but Duke hasn't even been challenged by the committee yet. Duke against Gonzaga or Northern Iowa would have been great to see. Gonzaga blows. They lost to San Francisco and Loyola Marymount while their only wins vs. tournament teams were St. Mary's (who they were 2-1 against) and Wisconsin. They were 3-4 against tourney teams. I don't think they'd give Duke a better test than they gave Syracuse.
  7. Goodwin has been playing some really good defense from what I've read too. He's a very good prospect.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 21, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) Big 12 has 2 don't they? Kansas St. and Baylor are all that is left. Yeah, yeah one correction is enough lol. I think my mind already slated in A&M before tip off and never removed them.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 21, 2010 -> 06:51 PM) Big Ten was by far the best conference this weekend. It was a terrible performance all around though from everyone else. I'm missing something, did Wisconsin win? Big 12 has 3 sweet 16 teams as well. Kansas' and A&M's losses were bad, but the Big Ten has just played to seed. Can't say by far the best.
  10. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 21, 2010 -> 05:12 PM) Committee should be ashamed of the path they gave Duke. Cal is an embarrassingly bad team. There's 6-7 NIT teams better than Cal. Tell that to Louisville, who Cal dominated. A 2nd round matchup with Louisville could have been ugly for Duke so I don't think you can complain about the draw. Purdue as the 4 seed and Nova as the 2 was nice for Duke though.
  11. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Mar 21, 2010 -> 03:52 PM) Normally I'd pull for the ACC, but not for a team that has that douche Vasquez on it. I don't care about the ACC, but I feel the same way.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 07:56 PM) Horrible reffing so far in the Kentucky game. Kentucky is getting every call possible. BTW, John Wall sucks! Most overrated player ever. Not that it matters at this point. I know Kentucky is vulnerable, but I'll vomit if this team wins the title. At least with Kansas, I knew it wasn't dirty.
  13. Northern Iowa is my favorite team to ever ruin my bracket (had Kansas winning lol). I said Ohio State would make the Final 4 back in January, if only I had stuck with that instead of deciding on Kansas as the best team. Oh well, this is why I didn't put money on my bracket this year. I assumed a ton of chaos, too hard to predict.
  14. QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 06:47 PM) Poor Jimbo lol Nah, I'm very pleased him and his fellow cartoon bird fans are suffering.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 06:44 PM) Northern Iowa getting screwed by the refs a bit right now. That foul call on Morris's shot was absurdly late and I don't think there was a foul on that play and then the UNI guard got pushed out on that last turnover. Yeah that was a blatant reach/push, but UNI is choking quite a bit.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 08:41 PM) Well no duh. It just confirmed that they didn't belong to begin with. You completely missed the point of what I said. A team's performance in the tournament does not prove or disprove whether they belonged or not.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 06:23 PM) Did you watch them? Then yes, you would agree. No, first off UTEP was up 6 at half. Second, what they do in the tourney is completely, 100%, irrelevant to their selection into the tourney. Their selection was based on what they accomplished before the tourney, not based on what they could do in it.
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 06:07 PM) After the worst seeding job in tournament history, the SC proved they couldn't get the bubble teams right either. Time to clean house, though it's on a rotation anyways. Losing a game these teams were supposed to lose proves they didn't belong in the tournament? I'm calling bulls***.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Wow. I remember coming out of that game impressed with Wofford, thought it was closer, although the Illini needed a 2nd half run to make it double digits. Looking at the schedule, that was the game before the whole season fell apart. I watched that game. Illinois just got hot in the 2nd half. Wofford played well to hang as long as they did.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 04:43 PM) Illinois beat them by 14 Right, but I watched that game. It was close for about 30 minutes before Illinois got hot. It's not a knock to Illinois that Wofford hung with them, there's no need to qualify it. Wofford is solid. How about Cornell though? Everybody is talking Wisconsin vs. Kentucky, but I like Big Red in that game.
  21. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 04:24 PM) I know its odd to say that Purdue was my sleeper pick, but Ive got them going to the sweet 16. Prior to the tournament no one gave them a chance even though they are a 4 seed. They certainly weren't going to lose to Siena. Siena isn't as good as last year and Purdue still had the best 2 players on the floor.
  22. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 04:22 PM) That game is why you work all season to get a high seed. If Wisconsin is against a tougher opponent they may not over come that craptacular performance. Shoot under 40%, 12% from 3point line and outrebounded, not a game you should win, but thankfully a game that Wisconsin found a way to win. Hopefully they find their shot because eventually they are going to need to hit 45% or so to win. I'm not going to argue, but Wofford is pretty legit. They are not a garbage mid-major that snuck into the tourney. I'm not surprised they hung with Wisconsin.
  23. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 02:59 PM) I have Louisville upsetting Duke. Duke's played nobody toward the end of the year and won a couple of real close games in the ACC Tournament. I think Pitino and Louisville's tough schedule (notwithstanding the Big East's demise thus far this tournament) could cause the upset. It's all about matchups and they have to beat Cal to get to that winnable matchup. I don't think they will.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 19, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) What would the call be? A heads up play by throwing the ball off an opponent and then not saying anything while the guy tried to come after him? I hate the guy too, but there was zero foul there whatsoever. Agree, but he still had that s***ty grin like he just made the guy his b**** or something. Can't stand him.
