  1. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 06:49 PM) I don't get the entitlement talk, even if I was a Northwestern or Penn State fan I wouldn't give a f*** about a tournament that literally doesn't count towards anything that no one around the country gives a damn about That's a damn lie. I hope Northwestern gets in the NIT because they had a solid season despite losing their best player to injury before the year started and I want them to get some momentum for next year. End the year on a better note. Illinois sucked this year, stop posting about college basketball if you are going to do nothing but b****. It's enough already.
  2. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 05:50 PM) NOTE TO COLLEGE BASKETBALL TEAMS: Schedule no one and play in a horse s*** conference and you will be rewarded That's the opposite trend than what we had seen recently. The mid-major teams had been getting crushed the last few years. Can't complain this year. I'd rather have a mid-major that makes their careers get in than a big program on a down year.
  3. QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) You cant complain about being snubbed when you lose 6 of your final 8. You might have played tougher games but you still need to win some of those. Yeah, I don't think there should be an outcry. The bubble got tight on Saturday and that cost Illinois.
  4. QUOTE (SnB @ Mar 14, 2010 -> 02:05 PM) HOLY CRAP that ending of regulation of the kentucky game was ridiculous. And Kentucky acted like they had won the game. They remain the luckiest and least classy team in NCAA.
  5. QUOTE (Reddy @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 05:22 PM) do we have it officially that it's the tibial tendon? or is this still just speculation? Official.
  6. Basic used to be a SS profile. Mentioned how it's a better fit for Santos' personality to be a pitcher because he struggled with the constant failure of a hitter. Even bad pitchers get hitters out most of the time.
  7. 2010 FutureSox Preview: Right-handed Starting Pitchers, Part I Our 2010 preview continues with starters from the right side. Since there are so many, we start with those in the high minors, highlighted by Dan Hudson.
  8. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 12:04 AM) I am no expert Danman so just askin for anyone´s opinion. If the tendon is artificially reattached does that make it more susecptable to re-injury? This really really bites. The kid has so many tools. I have no idea what I'm talking about other than googling posterior tibial tear. With any surgery there's always the risk of re-injury.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 11:48 PM) So the big question is will this affect his speed after the normal recovery? It sounds like he should be able to be back to full speed, but he will have a higher chance of future problems than someone who hasn't had this injury. I guess you could say that about most injuries though.
  10. Posterior tibial tears "Surgical options may include cleaning away and removing any inflamed tissue around the tendon, realigning the foot bones, fusing some of the bones together or transferring fibers from another healthy tendon to repair the damaged posterior tibial tendon. The orthopaedic surgeon may use just one of these options or a combination of them. After surgery, a patient is required to wear a cast for at least six to eight weeks. An intensive physical therapy rehabilitation program is also required to strengthen the supporting muscles, increase flexibility and heal the tendon."
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 10:44 PM) Almost had Big 10 semis of Michigan/Illinois and Northwestern/Minnesota. Ha Fixed. That was a 1 point game in the final minute.
  12. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 10:31 PM) Mitchell out for the year, that hurts. Don't jump the gun. The Trib is saying could miss the season and that a recovery timetable will be set after the surgery.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 08:19 PM) Yep but the officials bail out GT again because Vasquez clearly got fouled on that last 3 attempt as well. I really don't think so. It's certainly not clear, it's at the very least close. I don't see how you see it as clearly a foul.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) That put back dunk by Favors shouldn't have counted in the GT v. MD game. Yes, but I feel like Maryland should lose because Vasquez has had two awful possessions in a row where he refused to trust his teammates.
  15. 3 guards fouled out for one team, laughable. I can't say the refs favored one team or another because Purdue got screwed in the 1st half and Northwestern got screwed in the 2nd, but you won't see a game that was as poorly officiated as that one.
  16. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 07:27 PM) It's because the it wasn't a technical foul on Northwestern, they called intentional I know, but why? How is one worse than the other? Doesn't make sense.
  17. And then Purdue gets a T and Northwestern only gets 2 free throws, but not the ball. That rule is dumb.
  18. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 06:09 PM) The state of Iowa is a vortex of horrible basketball that appears to be sucking in the states of Illinois and Nebraska as well. Ha at least Northern Iowa is having a good year. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 06:58 PM) I hate when refs try to make themselves a big part of the game like they are in the Purdue/Northwestern game right now. People are here to watch the teams, not the guys wearing stripes. I know, this is brutal. It's a tough game to watch and that T was harsh. 2 shots and the ball is a terrible rule, especially when they were already at the line!
  19. Man, you got to have the feeling that if Hughes didn't foul out he was going to drain that tying 3. Fun ending.
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 05:32 AM) Dear Dwight Howard, Stop doing that. That is all. Yes, and frankly that wasn't the cleanest of fouls. He didn't come near the ball. Not that it was intentional, but it should have been a flagrant.
  21. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 02:36 PM) Wisconsin still shooting horribly, but Illinois is doing a great job contesting everything. Probably the best D they have played all year thus far (knock on wood) I still think Wisconsin makes a run at some point. Yeah, they have to. Illinois FG% is down to earth, waiting for Wisconsin to hit something lol.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) I think he hurt his ankle pretty bad last game didnt he? Yes, it was late in the game so it was hard to tell how severe it was. Still, that was 5 days go and he played through it. A normal rolled ankle wouldn't take 5 days to heal and I can't imagine being able to play through an ankle injury bad enough to affect you 5 days later.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) Agreed but Illinois is generally good at taking care of the ball and had a few completely unforced turnovers. Also, Illinois got way better looks at the basket than Wisky. The shooting percentages will even out but if both teams get the same looks at the basket in the 2nd half Illinois wins. The x factor is that Trevon Hughes could be really hurt and his 0-8 isn't going to even out. I haven't paid enough attention to notice it, but I remember hearing the announcers say he was limping.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 12, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) 9 turnovers to 1, and then Wisconsin got a bunch of 2nd chance points. Right, but both of those stats are more sustainable than those shooting percentages. You have to agree that Illinois is not going to shoot 65% for a whole game and Wisconsin certainly isn't going to shoot 19% for a whole game.
  25. Illinois is shooting 65%. Wisconsin is shooting 19%. Illinois is only up 9?! If that doesn't mean Wisconsin is going to win this game, I don't know what does.
