5/7 Detroit Tigers @ Chicago White Sox 7:11 CDT CSN

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 7, 2009 -> 08:23 PM) It'd be super duper cool if Manny was the second lead story tonight. You and your subtle hints. -
I was hoping for a Mandy Moore, "That's so funny," at the end, but I was very pleased with the finale. Lawrence said that's a season wrap for XX so maybe there is hope for a new version. JD and Kelso are the only characters they officially wrote off.

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 7, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) Might not be a bad idea to create an official draft discussion thread, and have the first post as a list of players with a link to either a scouting report or a thread created in here. There's so little on this board on a daily basis other than the daily games threads so we might as well just keep it in this board. There won't be much competition.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 7, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) I want to see Washington take him with the 10th pick. LOL, that would balance things out nicely wouldn't it? Aaron had been working out at Mizzou. I'm rooting for him, he was so much fun to watch.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 6, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) And they've already proven with Jennings, who might be the best position prospect in baseball not named Matt Wieters, that they can find premium talent in the later rounds. Whoa, let's not go way overboard here. He's a solid prospect, but it's 27 games in AA.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ May 6, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) For the Champions League tourney next year. With that said, AC has to stop signing guys who have passed their peak and start bringing in young talent. Unfortunately, Roma might not make it next year. They are my favorite European team and it sucks that they are having a rough year in Serie A by their standards. Their Champions League PK defeat to Arsenal was gutwrenching.

Impressive lack of composure by Chelsea after conceding an incredible goal for Barcelona. Barca was down 1-0 and a man down (on a terrible red card call) and scored in the 3rd minute of injury time to qualify for the final. Chelsea damn near assaulted the ref on nothing questionable, embarrassing.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 6, 2009 -> 09:09 AM) Justin missed all of last year with some kind of arm injury. It may have been Tommy John. He's now active with Kanny, taking Daniel Hudson's spot. It was Tommy John. I looked it up. It's in the press release for today's game.
-
I want Carlos Torres on the big league roster this year. If he stays this hot, soon. If not, I want a look in September. Dominating AAA right now.
-
Charlotte 10, Syracuse 7 Barons and Dash got postponed. Lake County @ I's Escobar with a couple hits.

QUOTE (Texsox @ May 1, 2009 -> 12:11 PM) One thought I just had, it seems we call every guy without a top fastball a pitcher and every guy with a 96+ fast ball a thrower. Seems too easy and over simplified. He walked a lot of guys, that's really the difference to me.
-
Definitely had chances in this one. Still do if Boston can't inbound the ball.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 08:52 PM) I like Rose, but his defense has been just terrible all series. Fixed.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ May 2, 2009 -> 08:18 PM) No. Just was never a Krause fan. After drafting Pippen and Grant, it was a crap shoot with that guy. That's fine. He did a nice job of putting extra pieces together throughout the Jordan years. The post-Jordan era showed his mistakes.
-
It's definitely a game. 7 points is very workable. It's frustrating that it was one bad stretch that has cost the Bulls. They've outplayed Boston by a solid margin other than that 20-2 run.
-
Watching Rondo lose his composure is pleasing me a great deal. If the Bulls lose, I want someone to get in a fight with him resulting in his ejection and possible suspension for game 1 of the next series.
-
Thanks Jerry. Goodbye. I hope you never grace a Sox uni again.
-
Thanks Joakim. Rondo losing more b**** points by milking it without any sort of injury. What a loser.
-
I've officially had enough of Kevin Harlan. He complimented Rondo for being relentless on that foul on Rose (that should have been called earlier) despite it being a dumb reach in call.

GAME THREAD: 5/2, Sox @ TEX, 7:05pm WGN

Who is the announcer with Hawk? -
QUOTE (knightni @ May 2, 2009 -> 07:00 PM) He was a #5 pick. He had Tyrus Thomas' shooting touch, Eddy Curry's rebounding skills and Ben Gordon's ball handling skill. Thanks for your negative contribution that was completely uncalled for. What are you? A Pistons fan?
-
QUOTE (knightni @ May 2, 2009 -> 06:57 PM) King was one of the biggest Bulls draft busts ever. Unnecessary buzz kill.
-
QUOTE (MurcieOne @ May 2, 2009 -> 06:19 PM) This might have already been covered... but how big of a failure was the "see red" campaign? Yeah, I know. Disappointing, but it seems that the franchises that get it to work are the ones with less tradition. It means more to those fans to be in the playoffs so the fans buy into a gimmick like that. QUOTE (fathom @ May 2, 2009 -> 06:22 PM) They gave Gordon a 2 pointer on a ball he was 5 feet behind the line. They better check that during the timeout. I know, I even went back on the DVR because I thought TNT got it wrong. How do they not overturn that? Unreal.
-
I imagine most of the people watching in Chicago are watching on Comcast, but the TNT intro video got me really pumped up.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 2, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) Anyone who wants to hear the radio call of Noah's slam by Swirsky, it's at about 1:00 in this ESPN clip. Pretty boring overall. Not sure what the hype was about.
