That was a great game. Mizzou didn't get fired up until the 2nd half which is why they lost. They obviously didn't view it as a rivalry game for some reason. Nebraska is probably more of their rival in football anyway right now. I'm still going next week, hopefully Arrowhead won't be complete slop. Some douche on ESPN just asked if they should get rid of divisions in the Big 12. So Oklahoma doesn't go to the Big 12 title game last year, that sounds like a great idea to me. Oye. -

Mizzou took a couple recruits from the post-Callahan fallout. They need to keep recruiting well to compete in the long run. The next few years will determine a lot about the near future of both programs. Mizzou needs to be more than a 2-year wonder. I'm just hoping for consistent 8 win seasons, or at least the realistic chance to get 8 wins just about every year. I don't think they can expect to win 10+ very often. Nebraska probably won't be headed back to prominence anytime soon, but they could be relevant in a couple years. I just don't see Nebraska returning to their previous form. I don't know how they ever recruited people to go to Nebraska in the first place. It's Nebraska. Lincoln is a nice town, but damn. -

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 12:24 AM) You know, they sometimes get the label of having all their songs sounding the same, and while I can understand the argument, I like their sound, so why complain? Sam's Town got panned by some critics, but I have played the s*** out of that record. There might be 2 weak tracks on it. QUOTE (Cali @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 12:30 AM) It took me forever to get into Sam's Town, but damn if it isnt an amazing album. Better than Hot Fuss in my opinion. Uncle Johnny is probably the weakest song on Sam's Town, but thats about it. I just got to listening to the new album and figured I'd weigh in on some Killers stuff. As far as I'm concerned they don't ever have a chance at matching Hot Fuss. There are quite a few songs on Sam's Town I really enjoy, but the album as a whole was pretty disappointing to me. I do agree that Uncle Johnny was the worst song. As for the new one, I'm not thrilled yet. I like Human. It's good, but not their best work. I've seen a lot of people say they like Spaceman and frankly, I don't get it. At all. My roommate said he didn't like it either so I'm not alone. It's got a catchy tune and kinda builds to the end like This River is Wild from Sam's Town, which I love, but Flowers doesn't do it for me on this song. It's probably gonna be like Read My Mind for me. I thought it was ok and everyone else was in love with it leaving me confused. I'm just looking for a few really good singles from the Killers, they are good at that. I'm not expecting full albums like Hot Fuss anymore. P.S. WTF is with Joy Ride? It sounds like motown in the beginning and then sounds jazzy and then sounds like the Killers, kinda. Weird.

I also think Alabama is better than Florida. They dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 03:24 PM) It's not in the computers but what Dan is saying that the pollsters look at the margin of victories and thus that effects the BCS. Yes. -

BCS does take into effect how much you lose by. That's the polls. -

101, your argument doesn't work because OU beat the hell out of Tech. That could trump the neutral field vs. home field argument. The bottom line is that you can go back and forth about all 3 teams right now. It's best to let the rest of the season play out and then reevaluate. -

For the record, the Big 12's 3-way tiebreaker isn't BCS ranking. It's the 6th tiebreaker or something. It's just that their only losses are to each other that all the tiebreakers are rendered useless. Anyway, I'm not surprised OU won by a few scores, but this many is funny. It's good to see people are still overreacting to the most recent week and suddenly think OU is the best team of the Big 12 South teams. Let's not forget that playing tough teams multiple weeks in a row burned Texas and Tech, maybe it will burn OU before all is said and done. I'm rooting for chaos, as always. It keeps me interested, though usually results in me not caring about the national title game as much. Also, I was at the Northwestern game today and that was fun regardless of the cold. Looks like they will probably get the 5th Big Ten bowl and Ohio State might not even get in the BCS making it a lesser bowl, but we'll see. It sucks to always get a crappier bowl because of being the smallest school in the conference. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 20, 2008 -> 10:32 PM) Mizzou, regardless of who they play in the Big 12 Title game (you guys are officially in now right?) can completely screw the BCS by winning that game. I think they might just do it too. Yeah. I already bought my tickets. It's official. One of my friends showed me a site that had a scenario where the Big 12 could get 3 teams in. BCS 1 vs. 2 are Big 12 and Mizzou wins the title. I don't believe the scenario. Obviously, this is with a million teams losing. -

I'm just excited Mizzou gets another shot at these teams. They've done a good job of making Tech look not like Tech the last 2 years. -
Baseball America rated Escobar as the 10th best prospect in the White Sox system. He was also named the best defensive infielder. During his time with Kannapolis this season he hit .267/.302/.300 in 243 at-bats. His lack of power and patience could be a problem down the road especially considering he isn't a big stolen base threat. He was only 19 and in his first professional season so nothing to worry about yet.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 01:24 PM) Things that stick out; Escobar at 10 - Bit of a surprise I would have thought. Highly rated with BA than others perhaps? QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 02:04 PM) Dan's sleeper pick of Escobar no longer looks like a sleeper pick. BA actually saw that I endorsed him, checked with my track record, and followed my pick. It's good to see he is rated as the best defensive infielder too. His bat won't carry him to the bigs alone.

Thank you. Ill try not to disagree with you ever again, let alone actualy say some negative about my own team. Fantastic admin behavior BTW. I didn't disagree with you. I just said Northwestern wasn't healthy and you went on to brag about how Ohio State has won just about every meeting between the two. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) Ohio state isnt 35 points better than Northwestern, you are right, they should have beaten them by much more. In fact this was one of the more respectable losses of the last 28 of 29 OSU has beaten NW. Take off your hater glasses. Not sure what USC vs OSU has to do with it at all, the buckeyes could have had Archie Griffin behind the QB and still get whomped. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 08:01 AM) First off, only Sutton wasnt available, both QB's were ready. And secondly, what does it say about me exactly? I said pretty much the same thing you said in shorter more direct terms. They havent played anyone, they arent the same team as OSU even though they have identical records and they are welcome for that reality check. You'll know when im actually "talking s***" and it wont be to Northwestern. Bacher was 'available' but didn't play. Conteh, the 2nd RB, missed the game as well. Conteh is a solid back and has made starts throughout his career. The starting RB for the game was a guy with 4 career carries. It's just convenient for Ohio State to complain about not having Beanie against USC, but Northwestern can't be missing their starting QB, starting RB and the RB's capable replacement. Ohio State isn't 35 points better than Northwestern. And DBAH0 stop wasting your time at Ivy League games. What the heck? -

QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 06:12 PM) Where's Jimbo at this week? I wanted to know the score of the Neb-KU game. Thanks for winning the North for Mizzou. A buddy of mine goes to Nebraska and thought they were going to lose. I actually picked the Huskers in our pick em pool and he didn't, heh. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) You are welcome for the reality check Northwestern. First off, their QB and top 2 RBs were out. Second, look at their schedule, they haven't done a lot to brag about and aren't a top 25 team. It's why I bet my entire centsports bankroll on Ohio State lol. It says enough about you to be talking s*** on Northwestern as an Ohio State fan though. QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 9, 2008 -> 02:37 AM) I have a feeling Texas Tech will beat OU comfortably (Not by like 36 or anything, but 10-14) I'm gonna say there is no way that happens. I'm not saying Tech can't win, but there is no way they manhandle Oklahoma IN Norman. Neutral field, maybe, but OU just doesn't lose at home so I don't think Tech can win 'comfortably.' -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 06:43 PM) Penn St. averages more rushing YDS/G and defensively is slightly stronger than Iowa against the run. To be fair, you run more when you are winning and pass more when you are losing. They better have better run numbers.
