I love how you guys are b****ing at Paulie for hitting the 1st pitch when he hit it right back up the middle. If it doesn't deflect off Robertson he has a hit.
-
The amazing thing is that with Robertson pitching, this game is far from over. The Sox haven't looked good at the plate yet, but they do have a run and Robertson has very little room for error.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 01:16 AM) I want Albert Pujols trimming my bushes and hitting 100 homers for the White Sox while I win the lottery, am given the keys to a new Corvette, and Adriana Lima AND Erin Andrews stand at my doorstep telling me that they had a premonition that they needed to be with me, if just for one night...but none of that is going to happen. You should have added Barry Bonds hitting HRs for the Sox this year too lol. QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 01:39 AM) c'mon now, out of everyone, Erin Andrews? You could pretty much trip and fall on the remote, hit some numbers in the process, and land on someone better. Dr. Cutty from House, the two girls that aren't bats*** crazy on Friends etc. Cutty? You picked Cutty? What about the younger one? She's gorgeous, but Cutty? Wow.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 23, 2008 -> 04:19 PM) More like MacDougal's trend. Wassermann was nails as soon as he was sent down, his ERA was below 1 up until a bad outing recently. That said, I agree, I think Russell has a good shot at a solid major league career. I think the same applies to Wassermann as well, though Wass is still more of a setup guy or a ROOGY. Russell has potential to do more. Wassermann's last 10 games: 11 IP, 5 ER, 6 K, 3 BB, 13 hits. Far from great. Granted, the one outing does ruin his stats. Gartrell hit HRs in both games for the Barons today, worth noting.
-
Russell following Wassermann's busted confidence trend. Hopefully he gets it together quickly, he definitely can have a Major League career.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 06:54 PM) 2 points. 1. I can think of other ways to spend $10+ million than putting another DH on the Sox now. 2. OBP and home runs are 2 things we've tried to load up on since the end of 05. That will win you a lot of games. But if you're not able to win games in other ways...you're going to have some trouble. You're saying that because the versions of OBP and power you're seeing this year are Thome, Konerko, and Swisher. I wouldn't want that kind of player either ha. To be fair Thome has been overall pretty good and Swisher has been hot lately, but Dunn is better than both. I'm not necessarily advocating trading for Dunn because of what it would probably take to get him, but I'll always welcome one of the best hitters in the game to the Sox.

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 04:40 PM) Sorry, if it looked like if I was aiming my post at you because I wasn't. I was just stating that just because Crede sucks right now doesn't mean automatically Fields is better. Fields will be exciting to watch, but people must remember he will K a ton. I know, I agree. If you factor in age, potential, price, and health issues for Crede it's a no brainer for 09.
-
I didn't say Fields was going to hit .300, but Crede isn't a .300 hitter anyway. My point was that Crede is not better than Fields during his rookie season. If Fields improves at all, he'll make up for his defense.
-
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 04:22 PM) I'd rather get a faster player, not another who is going to swing for the fences constantly, especially if we have Thome and Konerko. Yeah, let's get a faster guy with less on-base and significantly less power. Sounds like a plan.

Embarrassing series. Should never lose a series to that team. Damn shame.

Josh Fields 2007: .244/.308/.480 17 2B, 1 3B, 23 HR, 67 RBI, 54 R, 35 BB, 125 K in 373 AB (100 games) Joe Crede 2008: .259/.327/.483 17 2B, 17 HR, 54 RBI, 39 R, 29 BB, 40 K in 304 AB (89 games) Crede has a little more on-base and doesn't strike out as much, but Fields had more power. More or less the same production and Crede isn't playing his best defense by any stretch this year, which was the biggest difference between the two. I know Fields is not doing that well in AAA, but Crede isn't worth the paycheck he's gonna want (whatever it is). I know this is relatively random, but I saw Crede's stats and thought they looked similar to what Fields put up so I looked it up.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) The concept is that putting a ball in play gives you a better chance at getting a hit than not putting a ball in play. By the way, Adam Dunn is a far superior player than Joe Crede. Adam Dunn is a far superior player to 90% of baseball. Man is a stud. His batting average (.230) is the lowest it has been since 2003 and he is still gonna hit 40 HRs and walk 100+ times. How can you hate on a guy who has a .385 on-base percentage and is gonna bomb 40 balls? What else do you want?

If Egbert gets a start, I gotta really question the thought process of Sox management. Haeger should be the favorite.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 10:11 AM) Kyle Long will be in Tallahassee today and will be taking Summer C classes which start Monday. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 12:02 AM) I posted it. So did he, earlier.

The W-S was a continuation. Bristol blew a 5-0 lead in the 9th. Harsh.

Josh Hamilton Presents the 2008 Home Run Derby
danman31 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in The Diamond Club
I'm gonna agree on the Reilly comments. Especially that over the top line at the end. -
Escobar 2-3 in game 1. He's gotta start hitting for some power and walking. Mixed results so far in Kanny.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 14, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) Technically speaking he's posted a career low 3 ERA at the major league level and his minor league ERA was in the middle three's. He's definitely given up fewer hits than ever in his career but as a whole his major league numbers are very good (obviously not leading the league in ERA good, but above average for sure). Yeah, he's been good as a reliever, but that doesn't convert to being a dominant starter at 30. I just want to know what changed.
-
What has made Duchscherer so successful this year? Look at his career numbers and try not to think aberration.
-
Upchurch 2 runs in 2 innings for his debut.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 11, 2008 -> 08:05 AM) Really? Hart: .292/.332/.510, 47 R, 15 HR, 57 RBI, 13 SB Rowand: .296/.362/.453, 40 R, 8 HR, 47 RBI, 1 SB Burrell: .279/.412/.581, 48 R, 22 HR, 54 RBI, 0 SB Theres no doubt in my mind Wright should have been the guy and Lee has been better too, but Rowands numbers dont even compare, and although Burrell has more homers, Hart has the base-running versatility so those two guys are close. I'll give you Rowand. However, to argue Hart is having even a comparable season to Burrell is laughable. 13 SB are worth 80 points in on-base and 70 more in slugging? Get out of here with that.
-
This goes to show that fans don't know a thing. Hart is the least deserving of the guys in the NL and name me a stat Longoria is better at than Dye.

Fleischer was in the Carolina League last year with another org. He's an organizational guy.
