I've spent a lot of time in Naperville this weekend. My GBN boys soccer team made it to the state tournament. They won in the quarters yesterday, but lost today 1-0 in the semis. On the way to the game yesterday we got lost 3 times trying to find North Central College. Now I know the area around the Naperville Rd. highway exit so well, lol. It was about a 40-45 minute drive today, yesterday wasn't as pretty.

I played tonight. I was pissed because I forgot to get 5s and 1s with me. All I had was 20s and 2 singles so I had to buy in for $2 considering a 20 would be a b**** to cash out in a cash game. Anyway I was up most of the night then I lost a hand where I had 2 draws (flush, open ended) and a pair. Anyway I was barely down and I had pocket queens so I go all in. I get a caller, who has pocket 2s. Flop: blanks. Turn: queen, I have trips I can't lose...BUT (you knew there was a but didn't you? ) he has a flush draw. And if you didn't see it coming he catches a flush on the river. A 4 card flush. Awful, awful times. But hey I only lost $2 on the night.

I was going to say something like that. It's hilarious.

My team is 5-2 right now, taking on another 5-2 team. Right now we are having a solid week. Pennington still to play I have 92 points and the league leader is averaging 108 points so that puts in perspective because I should end up right around that number after Pennington plays. The team I'm playing has Manning and Brees throw a combined 10 touchdowns for 83 points. This. f***ing. Sucks.

And Maryland only has one other ACC win, over Duke. Oh and I'm sure Temple is great. :rolly

Anybody else completely in shock that Northern Illinois is now ranked? What a load of it. Let's name the quality wins NIU has had this year...oh right they haven't had any. Their losses? Maryland and Iowa St. :puke

You go to Sandburg? My dad works with and is very good friends with the father of the Schulte's. 2 of the brothers were key in Sandburg's recent state title runs in boys volleyball and supposedly they have another on the way that is better than the older kids were.

Illinois 0-6 (2-7) Also, I'm surprised to see that nobody mentioned FSU lost to Maryland. That's gotta knock them out of the national championship picture, but they still have a shot at the ACC because Miami is losing to North Carolina now. UNC has had a brutal schedule. They are actually, to my surprise, a solid team.

Kyle Orton sucked hard. What a s***ty game he had today. I mean, he got pulled for crying out loud. Purdue is in a major tailspin. As excited I am about the win, like OSU earlier in the year, Purdue isn't as good as advertised. All that stands between NU and a bowl game is Penn St., Illinois, and Hawaii. I like those odds.

Defending 7A champ Oswego also lost. Also, my Glenbrook North Spartans made it to the 2nd round with a 10-7 win over Highland Park.
