I have various problems with this trade. Why would the Sox want to trade AWAY their starting centerfielder when they are trying to improve their team? While I hate to trade Garland, Johnson is a clear upgrade. However, I hate trading away Major League players in a deadline deal when you are trying to improve your team. My main problem is that this team has bigger holes than another pitcher. We still need a catcher who can hit above the mendoza line outside of Sandy Alomar. If we trade Rowand we will need another OFer. With Frank hurt we will need another bat. If Kenny can somehow fill all of those needs to go with the Johnson trade we'd be set. rolleyeyes.gif I'm not sold on this team doing anything and I don't want to mortgage anymore of the future on it.

I said out of the playoffs because this team's pitching is so god damn inconsistent. It really doesn't matter if we make the playoffs or not. Odds are we won't do anything there anyway. This team keeps going up and down. And I thought Billy Koch closing out a game was going to cause health problems...This team just does it slower than Koch would have. :banghead

It's nice to see Lopez's average up at .285, BUT he just won't take a walk. 13 walks in 265 at bats good for an on base of .314. That's awful for a top of the lineup guy. That's why Gonzalez was batting leadoff (.381 on base). Thankfully Lopez has only struck out 19 times, but those numbers are still pretty bad.

Would Kobe have won 3 titles without Shaq? No. Would he even have won one without Shaq? No. Let's face it, the only guard good enough to win his team a title without a solid big man was the one, the only Michael Jordan. That's what made him so special. He won without a big man. To look back over the past 15 years, every other team has had a solid big man. 91-93: Bulls, you could argue Cartwright, but Michael Jordan 94-95: Rockets, Olajuwon 96-98: Bulls again, this time with Luc Longley starting lol 99: Spurs, Duncan AND Robinson 00-02: Lakers, Shaq 03: Spurs, ditto 04: Pistons, Sheed, Ben Wallace Kobe isn't good enough to win without a big man, neither is Dwayne Wade. Just don't use 'he won 3 titles' as an argument because Kobe was with Shaq and still managed to lose the title the last 2 years.

I'm just saying watch Kobe this season and watch Wade this season. Kobe will fall back into that group without Shaq and Wade will join them with him. Look for Wade to be considered the best guard in the game next to probably Lebron after a few years of development and Shaq.

Sorry to interrupt you baseball purists, but I don't see why you don't want more playoff teams. Especially as White Sox fans. The Sox don't make the playoffs often, but are rarely out of contention. More playoff teams would help even out the field. More fans would come to games for smaller market teams because their team would be in the race later in the season. More playoff games create huge amounts of money. I don't see why this isn't beneficial for all involved and I don't see why baseball didn't expand the number of teams in the playoffs a long time ago.

I don't see how you guys are saying the Lakers will be better than the Heat. Kobe is just another star SG. There are a bunch in this league and where are they all? Nowhere. TMac, Iverson, Carter, Pierce, the list goes on. A team can not win with their best player being a SG. As Spiff said all you need is a big man and two good role players at guard (I'm modifying what he said) to be successful in this league. Kobe can not lead a team deep into the playoffs. He needs a big man. The Heat would crush the Lakers head to head because the Lakers don't have a big man, and much of the West will as well.

No, they don't match with the background so the shape of the icons show. For example the arrow icons on the main page have white backgrounds so I have a square of white among black. Also the icons such as 'help' 'search' and 'members' aren't the clean shapes they appear. When the color is changed they have jagged edges. And believe me...my computer ain't cheap. I mean c'mon, I live on the north shore. We don't know the meaning of cheap out here.

Mine don't have 'buttons' for SAP, but it's under audio or settings on every tv.
