What about the Mayflower, the 13 stripes, the 3 branches of government? There were easier ones than that one.

11/11, I know feel like I belong.

This is a spectacular idea. We could even ask managers of Sox affiliates some questions that they know they can answer.

Happy BDay sick one. Keep dominating and we'll see you in Chicago soon!

Top 10 Performances of the Week Knuckleballer gets #1 By Danny Santaromita Here are the top 10 performances of the week by White Sox minor leaguers. The rankings were based solely on statistics. This is the 6th week it has been in existence. This week covers the games from June 28th through July 4th. 10. 7/2 Brian Miller, Kannapolis Intimidators 6.2 IP, 1 run, 3 K, 2 BB, 3 hits (W) Miller came into this season as the staff ace, but he started the year off very shaky. Brandon McCarthy and Rafael Flores were much better than him in the first couple months of the season, but he has definitely shown signs of improvement for the Intimidators. 3 of his last 4 starts have resulted in quality starts, compiling a 3-0 record during that stretch. Miller’s season ERA stands at a disappointing 4.63. In this game he pitched great and led Kannapolis to a 4-1 win over Lake County. more...

Basically we felt the preseason team was for that. It was loaded with prospects because, after all, they should have the best seasons of anybody in the minors. Either way, with the exception of Becker, these guys are all at least solid prospects. Nelson is in AAA so he is at least close and should get called up in September.

I'm still upset about what we gave up, but this makes the deal easier to swallow. If Garcia pitches well this season then I would switch my vote from 'don't like it' to 'alright' or 'like it' depending on how well he does. In my eyes he has done little to help us now, he needs to prove himself with us.

The White Sox and Seattle not done dealing?
danman31 replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Great, let's make them throw in Reed while they are at it. Seriously though this sounds like a good move for the Sox. As long as the Sox don't give up major league players I'm ok with it. Give away mid level prospects. Rauch, maybe even Diaz, etc. What really worries me is that the Sox will have to give up a guy like Crede. Not to say I think Crede is great, I think he will be, but I hate giving up major league players when you are trying to improve your team unless the player you are giving up is the same position as the player you are getting. -
Midseason All FutureSox Team Jeff Bajenaru, Brandon McCarthy, Brian Anderson and others make the All FutureSox Team By Danny Santaromita and Jason Gage The 2004 minor league season has roughly hit a half way point and FutureSox.com is going to compile its list of FutureSox players. The FutureSox honor is bestowed to the players that have been the best at each position over the season. We do not take into account potential when giving this award, rather production. FutureSox.com will wrap up its FutureSox team with the postseason All FutureSox team at the end of the year. more....

Well I'm searching the web for him, which is what we do on FutureSox for info on the lower draft picks. It's hard because his name brings in a lot of Spanish web sites. Here's what I got: Elizabethton article about Bristol game last night, includes picture of De Los Santos sliding into home. Part of an article in the Eagle Tribune that is in Massachusetts, I don't know if it's him:

I think you are overrating Roddick. He is way too inconsistent. Get him off of grass and watch him get upset at the US Open.

At least they beat Illinois!!!

Hey! Someone can take a joke on this board! Woohoo!! LOL Just keep in mind I'm on your side too and was just making fun of the fact that you had a lot of posts in that thread.
-
Dude you are a f***ing schizo. You quote me once and agree with me, then quote the same post again and make fun of me.
-
Wow, we agreed. What's next? We see eye to eye on the Reed/Borchard controversy? Ok maybe not.
-
Maybe you should try not insulting people and posting 40 replies in this thread in less than an hour and a half and chill the f*** out. You seem compelled to make your point while replying like crazy. This thread has become ridiculous. It needs to be locked.

Glad to know you took a break from defending Reed's honor lol.

4 hits for De Los Santos, who is emerging as the best hitting prospect on Bristol. Tartaglia 2-2 with a walk and 2 runs. Brandon Johnson went 2-6 in a 12-8 win. Gio with 6 Ks, 0 BBs, while giving up 1 run and 4 hits in 3 innings. Box Score

Actually you got it reversed. BMac pitched game 1. After listening to the game Brandon just does not throw balls. He was always ahead of the count. He worked fast and by the 2nd time around the hitters realized they had to swing early in the count. He would just throw strikes and give hitters nothing to hit when he was ahead of the count. He had guys swinging at stuff way out of the zone at that time. To me it sounded like his stuff doesn't look as good as it really is. Kind of like his stuff explodes I believe the announcer said. His curve and fastball were really working. He seems to be just off being a great prospect. Cut down on the HRs, maybe even become a smarter pitcher. His stuff was getting it done though. He needs to be able to make adjustments when the hitters are facing him for the 2nd or 3rd time. They know what they are seeing and they know what they have to do. Sweeney has a 10 game hitting streak after hitting in both games today. Box Score

After reading all the arguing going on here there have been some good points from both sides. Things I have not liked: Reed's stolen base numbers will of course fall in the majors. Ever player will steal less bases in the majors. The minor league leaders in steals are going to have more than the major league leaders. Reed will be able to steal occasionally. The point is that he is faster than Borchard. Don't use ST as anything. ST games are worthless in terms of judging guys. It's too hard to tell whether a guy that was doing crappy will stay crappy and a guy that is doing great will stay great. Borchard is a very good power hitter. His major league average has not been mentioned/projected. IMO Borchard will have a s***ty average in the majors. Russ Branyan.
