Frustrated Thomas swears AllStar process is unfair
danman31 replied to greasywheels121's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Great another reactionary poster. As if Jeckle didn't cover the whole board in the category as is. -
I stopped listening because I had to go. Right now it's 5-4 Kinston. The Hogs were up 4-0, but I know through 4 B Mac had given up 2 hits while striking out 5 with no walks. It's the 6th inning and Castro was just in, Fields just had a throwing error that gave up the go ahead run. Castro got pulled. I don't know how B Mac finished, but probably not all that great. Though he could have been on a short leash considering he hadn't pitched in 9 days.

f***ing idiot. Borchard will be nothing. He is batting .267 in his 3rd year of AAA, how is that turning a corner?

How come we play Anaheim twice at home
danman31 replied to Wise Master Buehrle's topic in Pale Hose Talk
More like make the NL use the DH or scrap interleague all together. -
I'm listening to the Winston-Salem game. BMac is making his first start with the Hogs. He sounds dominant as always. Sweeney just hit a 3 run HR. The announcer was raving about how quickly he got around that inside pitch. Top 4, 3-0 W-S.

This deserves a bump. Some of us need a good cheering up. I must admit I hadn't read it until now. It's good stuff.

I don't know why the Brewers were even rumored to be thinking about trading him. It just doesn't make sense. He was too young and too good for his age to trade him. The Brewers are developing a solid core of players that Sheets needs to be the center of.

You guys are going to laugh at me, but Northwestern will have a really good team this year. They got a lot of returning starters. Sure the losses of Jason Wright and Kunle Patrick will hurt, but they have more depth offensively than defensively. They will have their entire lines on both sides returning from last year. That's huge in Big Ten football as you guys know. It's a battle in the trenches, one Northwestern has always gotten killed in due to inexperience. I'm not going to predict another Big Ten title for the Wildcats, but I will predict that they will be in the running. They should make a bowl and have a winning record in the Big Ten.

Well said, I agree. The loss of Reed hurts because the future OF looks like s***. Anderson isn't ready and Borchard would be a rookie basically.

The more I hear about Anderson the more I think he is Reed all over again. Above average defensively, moderate stolen base threat, moderate power, projects to be a .270-.280 major league hitter. Reed had a better K/BB, but they are more similar than I thought.

I can hear you now. "This is a travesty, a sham, and a mockery. It's a travashamockery!"

Yunior Novoa went 6 innings, giving up no hits for Bristol. He has been awesome so far this season. His ERA is 0.59. Unfortunately the Torres gave up a hit against his first batter in the 7th. 2 hits, 2 RBI for Brandon Allen. 2 more hits for De Los Santos. Box Score

why vote frank koneko's numbesr are way better
danman31 replied to letsgoarow's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Frank is clearly having a better year IMO. .438 on base vs. .367 for Konerko. .572 slugging for Frank vs. .546 for Konerko. 2 more HRs for Konerko, 5 more RBI, but Frank has 18 more runs which is probably because his higher on base (best in the AL). -
You guys are leaving out B.J. Upton.....Though the D-Rays still need pitching. They have drafted a lot of position players, which is beginning to show, but they need pitching. Can't win without it.
-
Bristol won 4-1 in 12. They only gave up 3 hits and I believe had a no-hitter through at least 7. No box yet.
-
As I said there was a rain delay. Winston-Salem got rained out. Sucks for them, a big crowd was expected being the 4th and all. They were going to have fireworks tomorrow anyway. BMac's Warthog debut will have to wait for a doubleheader tomorrow.
-
Even so, Gordon made it as a setup man. I agree with you though. It's not how it should be, but it is.
-
Belliard has 31 points in batting average over Uribe. 49 points in on base. Uribe has 51 in slugging. OPS is dead even, 2 points for Uribe. Uribe has 1 more run and 1 more RBI. You can't tell me Belliard doesn't belong. It's a dead heat, I'd take Belliard because he has been doing it all year long. Uribe was ice cold in June.
-
I would be too. He's the leader in on base percentage in the whole f***ing AL. His slugging is 5th (funny thing is that Valentin's is 6th, wow. Konerko 10th). 6 of the top 10 sluggers are on the all-star team. 3 of the 4 not on the team are White Sox. Melvin Mora is the other, 9th in slugging. Frank is also 2nd in OPS. These are MVP numbers, how is he not on the all-star team? :headshake

Submit your questions for the FutureSox roadtrip!
danman31 replied to Cerbaho-WG's topic in FutureSox Board
They aren't going to see Anderson, he is Birmingham and they aren't going there. -
Let's take a reasonable look at this. Shingo has a better ERA, WHIP, and record. How is Tom Gordon on the team? Bulls***. Ortiz vs. Frank or Konerko is reasonable and Ken Harvey is the lone Royal. That's fine. Belliard has better stats than Uribe. That's fine. We got ripped, but not as badly as you guys are making it out to be.

Kanny won 10-4. 3 hits and a triple for Gray. Daigle, Young, Schnurstein, and Bounds with 2 hits each. Haigwood pulled after 1, there was a rain delay. Box

They will probably milk the hell out of this. We won't know the reserves for a while still.
