  1. I completely agree. This was a shaft and a half. If Garcia re-signs then it becomes an ok deal. To trade one stud is one thing, but 2? And I've long said I'd trade ANY minor leaguer ahead of Reed. His numbers are the best and he is the closest. The turnout rate of minor leaguers isn't high enough to know that a guy hitting 250 in high-A (Sweeney) is going to make it. Olivo is a sure thing future all-star. I think Reed could become one too.. :headshake I miss Reed already Think about the future of this team now. The outfield looks like Borchard (who I'm not high on), Lee, and x in centerfield if Maggs doesn't re-sign. This trade creates another hole (catcher) and puts further emphasis on us re-signing Maggs. Our future is in major question. Imagine if Maggs and Garcia leave. I know it's the 'go for it this year' notion, but I don't think this team can make it. Deal for Andruw Jones and I'll be f***ing thrilled.
  2. Expect him to be up with the Mariners before September. Most scouts think Reed is Major League ready and the Mariners are out of the race. I'm surprised he wasn't sent to the Mariners out of the gate.

I'd still love for this deal to happen.
  4. Congrats to the Titans. Texas looked like the team to beat, but Fullerton played like champions. What's the celebration gonna be like Jason?
  5. With Jeremy Reed being dealt I had to change my sig. The scary thing is that I knew I was going to trade my sig tonight. I told myself I'd make a 'we own the cubs' sig when I got home tonight from dinner. I get home to find Reed is gone... I guess I could feel something. Anyway, here it is:
  6. Hudson on the DL and Sabathia has a shoulder injury. I have to bench him this week. And I'm still in 1st place, kicking all your asses. BTW check my message in the league. I'm looking to trade for a pitcher. I have extra outfielders. I'm thinking a deal would entail one of my 7 quality outfielders and one of my injured players (Delgado or Chavez) for a starting pitcher. My thinking is that you guys can have an outfielder which would hopefully be a weak spot for you and then when Delgado or Chavez comes back you have an upgrade at that position without giving up your current starter.

Otsuka is Mr. Balk in my book. I don't want any cheaters on the Sox.
  8. Much love to Parque and those others! And it's Sirotka.
  9. That's funny because everyone judges players on one bad start, but they refuse to judge them on one good start.
  10. Hell yeah. It was awesome!

The whole reason he signed with the Sox is because they said he had a shot at being the closer. He is now the closer and is getting his saves. He wouldn't have gotten this chance else where.
  12. These couple days off may have been helpful for him. I'm predicting a nice streak from him. If the wrists were what were causing him to struggle a couple days off was probably good for him. BMAC=sick

OMG beastly, have a frickin backbone for crying out loud.
  14. Anybody else think that Anderson looks younger than Sweeney in that pic?
  15. Except you said Carlos over Rowand, you made it confusing.
  16. He played in the 2nd game of the doubleheader. He went 2-3.

Good to see Fields get his 1st HR. You can stop the Reed rumors for now...he went 2-3 in the night cap. Kohlmeier started, but took the loss despite a solid outing. He gave up 3 hits, no walks, in 6 innings. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 hits were solo HRs.Box Score Bham lost 6-5 in 11. 2 hits each for Paz, Murphy, and Sasser. Pacheco gave up 1 hit in 5 innings, it was also a solo HR. The bullpen was shaky for a change. Box Score Great Falls won 7-5. 2 hits each for Deuchler and McNeil. Box Score
  18. I agree 2 sigs is overkill.
  19. LOL. Line of the day!
  20. Didn't Hawkins own us last year? Crap... :headshake
  21. It's Mark Prior........
  22. That was unbelievably stupid. These people have played tiebreakers for years and didn't realize something was up. WTF? I still can't believe that happened. The sad thing is that the announcer said 2-2 after the 1st serve, which was called out, and let them play the 2nd serve on the same side. He had no clue what he was doing.
