Yeah it was a great article Jason. I usually try to proof read his stuff, as you can tell it needs it. I don't think Borchard has it. 3 years in AAA...ouch. What else to say? I mainly feel that he can be a somewhat productive player, but not near what he was supposed to be.

DAP!! Haha I love it!

I remember that pic. I can't believe you guys don't think it's KW.
-
Gee I wonder where you got those stats? Congrats to BMac for dominating the SAL and getting called up! Keep it up!

Brian Sweeney. The article lost all validity in my eyes when he got his name wrong.

I remember this guy talking about the Sox making deals for Alomar and Everett last year and it was awful. He is so biased that if the White Sox won the World Series he would find a positive spin for the Twins, "They won't be going for it next year now that they won it." I swear this guy can be dense. That wasn't a bad article, but the point remains he is biased.

It would be foolish for the Indians to go for it. They need to go for next year. They should win the division with ease if they make some half way decent moves next year.

Top 10 Performances of the Week McCarthy is #1 for 3rd time By Danny Santaromita Here are the top 10 performances of the week by White Sox minor leaguers. The rankings were based solely on statistics. A new addition to this feature is a tracker of how many times each player has been on the list. This is the 5th week it has been in existence. This week covers the games from June 21st through June 27th. 10. 6/23 Carlos Maldonado, Birmingham Barons 2-4, HR, 4 RBI, 2 runs Maldonado has been one of the better catchers in the White Sox system. That statement about describes how bad the Sox catchers are. He is batting .245 on the season. On Wednesday he had a great game that was part of a slugfest in a 14-10 win over Jacksonville. 9. 6/21 Andy Gonzalez, Winston-Salem Warthogs 3-4, 3 2Bs, 1 RBI, 3 runs, BB Gonzalez hasn’t been great for the Warthogs, but he has been very solid at the top of the lineup. more...

I'd love that.

Munoz is getting rocked. He sucks.

They cut Atlanta and Birmingham out of the trip to cut costs. Jason asked if I wanted to go, but it was way too much money. He says cutting Bham out cut costs in half.

I have a hard time believing that the Braves would want to deal Estrada. Player for player it works for us, but our outfield really can't afford to lose Rowand. When Maggs gets healthy that leaves us with Lee, Maggs, and Timo as our everyday outfield. No go on dealing Rowand unless we are going to get Andruw Jones in that deal.

So instead of being swept in the 1st round as the #1 seed in the AL, we'll be swept in the 1st round as the #3 seed in the AL?

You gotta admit the timing is perfect. Regardless of whether you liked the trade or not the timing makes perfect sense.

Thanks for posting this. This is very nestalgic. Ray Durham, Greg Norton, Bill Simas, Kip Wells, Sean Lowe, Mark Johnson, and a Keith Foulke blown save to boot. Ahhh the 2000 White Sox, how I miss you guys. How I cried when they lost.

I agree. This time around the trade was less wildly accepted. Myself included, I don't like this trade. It was hard not to like the Alomar and Everett deals because we didn't give much up.

With the Garcia trade giving away Reed and Morse there are a couple spots open in the minors. Charlotte is due to call up an outfielder from Birmingham (probably Bikowski because he started the year in Charlotte). So this would seem as good a time as any to call up Anderson to Birmingham. Thoughts? Also who is going to replace Morse?

Defensively speaking.

Anderson will not make the big league team on Opening Day. He has yet to face a pitch of AA ball (I sound like Brando now ). He will probably go to AA sometime this year and might start next year at AAA. The only hope of him making the Sox is late next year.

Thankfully for Olivo Seattle has young guys and shouldn't be bad for long partially thanks to this deal.
-
With some people it's the Todd Ritchie trade. To me, this deal looks like the Todd Ritchie deal, which I have never had spite towards like others. I agree it was s***ty deal, but I never hated it. This trade I have spite towards. Olivo and hopefully Reed should kick some f***ing White Sox ass when I go to see them in a couple weeks at Comiskey.
-
Yeah, in all likelyhood next year is in the s***ter. Or at least it seems that way. It's too far away to tell.

I see the Atlanta deal as a win/win. That's why I think it will happen. We can give prospects to Atlanta, whatever none are must keeps now that Reed is gone. Atlanta gets a better player in Maggs, likely they will be able to pay him. We get the best CFer in the game (sorry Torii Hunter, you're good too) and get another pitcher. Atlanta would also get some young guys to go with it. It's win/win.
