  1. Illinois is a bit low, but a 4 and a 5 are hardly different. Illinois doesn't have the right to complain about the tough region because they aren't getting past the sweet 16 anyway. They wouldn't get out of the sweet 16 in any of the regions. To be honest Illinois should be happy they drew Cincy as a 4 seed instead of Wake or Kansas because they should beat Cincy, it would be tougher for the other 2. And about Florida's "easy" draw, Manhattan can knock them out in the 1st round, don't look past that.
  2. I voted 8. I think in a 6 team league it's more of a 7.
  3. That makes sense. I want to change my vote now.
  4. Likes The #1 seeds The ACC seeding (they deserved it when they all tore it up in the non-conference season) SIU as a 9 Manhattan's upset happy matchup with Florida Maryland a 4. I know, I know. They were a bubble team, but the ACC is that good. It's hard to argue Maryland as a 4 IMO. Gripes Gonzaga as a 2. I think they deserve a 3, there are worse things with this bracket. Illinois a 5 and Wisconsin a 6 (I personally like it, but it's not right) Washington an 8, c'mon let's be realistic here. Michigan St. a 7, wow. Their best win is DePaul, and only good win is DePaul, and they are STILL a 7.
  5. MSU choked. 2 good looks in the clutch, 2 bricks. This team will never step up when they need to. They still have yet to beat a good team all year.
  6. I agree. I was also surprised that Prior couldn't get anybody better looking.
  7. Wuertz or whatever his name is needs to be traded for his sake. I'm assuming he pronounces his name like Bill Wirtz, so for his sake he should be traded to a city that Wirtz doesn't terrorize. Wow, and a weird thing. A little black #5 steps up to the plate. I miss Ray.
  8. Ok whatever, it bothers me. It's not that annoying, but this question is.
  9. The basketball today has sucked, big time. I'm kinda down right now anyway and there hasn't been any good games to get me excited. My high school lost on Wednesday and then NU loses on Friday. It's hard to lose them both in the same week. I'm not used to NU actually being good enough to be considered for postseason play, and then they lose in a poor showing. Now they are going nowhere. Ohhh, to have to wait another year....
  10. It's a tough call because all the Illini fans I know are just annoying, biased idiots. I had to go with the Cubs because there are more of them.
  11. Yeah as far as I'm concerned f*** the Illini. This was a biased question and I'm sick of the Illini fans on this board being so self-centered. Illinois has their own game thread every game they play and that is ridiculous. There are more non Illini fans here than there are Illini fans so let's not talk so much about these damn f***ers.

There could seriously be some money in this. Just make a can bust open like that with the pressure changing and stuff (don't ask me about science, just don't) and present it well like this guy did and you have a couple hundred dollars!
  13. NU vs. MSU tonight! NU is looking to lock up a spot in the NIT with a win and trying to keep the ever so slim tourney hopes alive (I'm referring to the automatic bid). Meanwhile, Jerry Palm's (collegerpi.com) projected bracket as MSU as one of the last four in the tourney. So they need the win too. Steve
  14. Yeah we freaking choked though. 3 of our guys totally choked. Scheyer couldn't do it all, he didn't even play his best. Next year should be awesome. A lot of senior leadership. Alex- I don't play, but I go to a lot of games because we have a good team and the best sophomore in the state according to any expert you ask (Scheyer). He is rated 21st in the nation by rivals.com among his class.
  15. I personally think they have a shot. Southern losing didn't help any though. It depends on if some team comes out of nowhere in a big conference tourney and takes away an at-large bid.
  16. My school lost in sectionals, but you don't hear me bragging. We were 25-4 on the year, not some crappy 4-19 s***.

That reminds me of a classic Simpsons bit... Here it is from snpp.com (kickass Simpsons archive site): At the Kwik E-Mart. Apu is fast asleep on the counter desk, and Homer is holding unpurchased Lotto tickets up against the light so he can cheat and get a certain winner. Homer: Loser.. Loser.. Loser.. $500! Apu! Wake up! I want to buy a yodel and this lottery ticket. I have this much. Apu: I am sorry but you do not have enough for both. Homer: [groans, thinks.] In his mind he goes back and forth between the 2. His brain tells him that he should get the ticket because $500 can buy many yodels. Homer replies to himself, "Explain." His brain says, "Money can be exchanged for goods and services." I'll take the yodel.
  18. That was a cool commercial. If I could have 3 picks back every year....wow.
  19. St. Joe's should still have a #1 seed in my eyes. You can't deny what they have done on one game. It's ridiculous to think otherwise in my mind. A 16 seed won't beat them because no 16 seeds, nor most mid-majors, have frontcourts worth a damn. The IU-OSU game was awful, I was able to watch it at school. The Big Ten sucks this year. NU beat Penn St.! They half-assed their way through this game if you ask me. It was a 5 point game, but it was very much all NU in the 2nd half. They led the whole half. Now onto ND vs. UConn. I'm expecting this to be a good game. UConn is without Okafor, but they still are loaded with talent. ND is playing for their tourney lives. I think they have a shot even if they lose, but a win puts them in.
  20. I think I've made my case and I can't change your opinion, but I will add that I think the voters know more than you guys and they are voting more on the Big Ten season instead of the whole season. In response to bones saying NU won't be able to compete next year I feel that they will have a chance. Yes Jitim Young will be gone, a major blow no doubt. They have 2 freshman guards coming in and 2 big men transferring in adding depth. One of the big men is Michael Thompson, a McDonald's All-American, who came from Duke. I also think that the Princeton offense and Carmody's defense will help NU pull a couple big wins. Of course this doesn't mean anything because they have to play the games.
  21. This seems to be your favorite icon to show somebody that you think they are an idiot. So I'll use it here.
  22. Illinois met expectations, at best. It depends on who you ask. This team did well in a poor Big Ten. If this was a better year in the Big Ten they would have struggled more early when the team was still adjusting. I just don't see how you can't acknowledge that Carmody did a far better job than Weber. I honestly don't even see Weber as a candidate for coach of the year. He did about what he was supposed to do with the talent he has. Meanwhile Carmody did much more with his talent. That's how you judge a coach. What they did with what they had.
  23. Carmody deserved it. Going into the season I thought that this was one of the worst NU teams in recent years. That says something. They turn it around in Big Ten play. Carmody did the most with his talent. Illinois merely matched expectations, at best.
  24. Ditto. He's pro material. He is that style of WR.
