  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 31, 2006 -> 09:13 AM) Popular with who? Pretty much everyone... Brokeback Mountain rode into about 80 more markets over the weekend and roped $6.5 million. At 1,654 theaters (nearly a 1/3 less than most new releases), the movie averaged a bustling $11,856 per site, and the total sits at $51 million after 8 weeks of limited release. Its production budget was $14 million. Also it has a fresh rating of 86% from rottentomatoes.com, which is a combination of hundreds of critics and audience reviews of the film. (60% is considered good). Its selling out theatres and 86% of people seeing it think it's great. So...I would say "popular"
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 05:51 PM) Wow. It seems like only yesterday. It is one out of maybe a half a dozen days in my life that seem like it just happened. To paraphrase John Lennon: Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other "spams"
  3. As a proud card-carrying member of the Razzie Committee, may I say what a wonderful set of nominations this year. Some of the fine folks I nominated didn't make the cut, but I cannot disagree with the choices. I predict a "Dukes of Hazzard" sweep.
  4. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) You've got this all wrong. If I really believed that my daughter was capable of doing this work on her own & that her social life was getting in the way I would let her fail. I'm doing this because I've reached the point where I no longer think she is capable of doing it on her own. Those that know me know I am driven by logic & numbers. My mind quickly mapped this problem into a state diagram. What I arrived at was a simple conclusion: If she doesn't improve she'll wind up in special ed any ways. Outside of cheating there is no way she can improve her performance on tests without improving her capacity to do homework. If she fails regardless of the path I take the conclusion is inevitable. This is pretty much a no-brainer for an engineer. The fact you treated this situation with your daughter like a computer is scary. There is obviously something psychologically at play here, but your "great mind" won't allow you to see it because a] it lies beyond logical reasoning and b] you are too pompous to believe someone with your advanced DNA could have those problems Oh..and by the way...doing her homework for her is CHEATING. The only part of your rambling that is correct is the "no-brainer" part. I'll let your superior intellect figure out why.
  5. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:30 PM) Your lack of comprehending a fact is not a suitable basis for it's denial. Thank you for proving my theory ever so completely.
  6. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) I have found that when it comes to people it's best to look for a path of least resistance in finding a solution. The easiest path is not always the right path... But someone as closed-minded as you will never see that. You can posture and stammer all you like about how right you are...but you are not. When you realize that maybe your daughter can get the assistance she derserves.
  7. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 05:06 PM) When you are as intelligent as I am company is rare. That's why I don't put much stock in what many say here & I rarely face a challenge I can't easily destroy or exhaust. I have never seen you win one agrument or debate. Your facts have no base to them and your opinions are derived from your warped sense of reality and superiority. The simple fact that you are doing all of your child's homework is proof that your delusions of granduer on the internet have seeped into your personal life and you feel only YOU can truly help your child for no one can be as smart as you. Will you be there when your child fails in life because you have not fully taught her how to face it, like any average parent would do? Probably not. Those who place themselves high above others cannot see them them when they are so low to the ground. Plus...you will soon have a long way to fall.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) It can't do it's own homework... no way it gets into college. It doesn't do it's homework. It places the homework in the basket. It rubs the lotion on its skin. It does this whenever it is told. It places the lotion and the homework in the basket or it will get the hose! Put the f***ing homework in the basket!
  9. I directed a play about this tragedy on its 15th anniversary iat my theatre in Chicago. The play was called "Defying Gravity". It's amazing the effect this story still has on people, now 20 years later.
  10. Hey, I do my son's homework too. Its hard coloring in those lines, but dammit I don't want him to miss recess and blame his teddy bear. I've made some of my precious time available for him between riding my high horse into town and standing on my pedestal. Then he goes over the colors I choose(which are correct) with his mom. Then they rub my feet, place flowers at my golden idol and praise me as I sleep. I know how you feel Juggs.
  11. Steff, you might want to pick that up off the ground...

  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) Meh, already have portable XM. Sirius is the red headed step child of XM. Say "Hi" to Opie and Anthony for me...
  15. Is it too soon to include a "Number Retirement" ceremony then as well ala Harold Baines?

Personally, I beleive this is a great move for Disney. Pixar will still retain creative control over their product and Steve Jobs will be placed on the board of Disney. He might have enough power to take over as Chairman and be in control of the Walt Disney Company and Apple. I think they should hand over control to him, he has the drive and vision to be another Walt Disney. The possibilities are endless. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060124/ap_en_...HNlYwN5bmNhdA--
  20. Congrats PA!! I'd say "yes" to you after that proposal!
  21. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 08:32 AM) I dont know about that. I heard Martha has been accused of "doctoring" some pictures, to give them a little more strength and definition. Is she liscensed? Good question. She developed all of the pictures from the last Balco Labs staff picnic. They were supposed to be wallet size, but they came back 8x10s. Hmmmm...
  22. QUOTE(Tadahito Iguchi @ Jan 23, 2006 -> 12:44 AM) I know theres an NBA discussion thread but screw that 81 points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is Kobe better than Michael Jordan? I think he might be hes won 3 championships already...................And I wouldnt be surpried if he finishes with 5 more............ You obviously were a kid during Jordan's reign and don't really remember seeing him play. Because if you did, you'd never make that statement.
  23. For a one to win the Cy Young, the White Sox need to do a better job developing their pictures. I suggest they hire this girl, Martha, who works at the Wal-Mart by me. She takes great care of my pictures.
