  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Nice comeback Lets see somemore of that line of logic. A batter should never sacrifice. It is stupid to make an out intentionally. (who cares if it moves a runner into scoring position) A pitcher should never pitch out. It is stupid to intentionally a ball, why would a pitcher every do that? (nevermind if it gets the catcher in position to throw out a runner trying to steal) A fielder should never throw to a cutoff man. how are you going to get a guy out if you aren't throwing to the correct base? (nevermind that two strong short throws can be better than one long weak, inaccurate one) Look a little deeper at the situation. The big picture is what is important here. The cash considerations were a major part of the deal, and because of them, the talent levels in the trade were altered. Stop trying Mike. You're agruing to a generation who was raised on MVP Baseball for PS2, Sportscenter highlights and Fantasy Baseball stats.
  2. QUOTE(Jimenez4MVP @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) And thats a problem how? Ahh another Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball way of looking at the reality of the game. :headshake
  3. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 07:45 AM) I value Stoney's opinion. He's really smart in terms of baseball. If thinks the Sox are going to make a trade, then they're probably going to trade. Did he mention who/what the Sox will trade for? I think you misunderstood my comment. I meant that his general statement about the Sox making a trade is quite obvious and not much of a prediction.
  4. QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 07:33 AM) Stone thinks that the Sox will make a trade Stoney also predicts the Sun may rise in the East tomorrow
  5. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Fired after 27-43 last place start Does he play 3b? Can we pick him up for Crede and McCarthy?!?
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) Don't you think they'd see right through that for a Sox-Cubs game? LOL...Like Jello!
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) A co worker of mine will be taking client's to Friday's Sox-Cubs game. He wants to know how he can gain entrance to the stadium club. He is willing to pay a season ticket holder for their tickets to the club. He needs 4 tix. Can anyone help? Call them ahaead of time and ask to get a visitor's pass for one game to the Club. Tell them you are looking to use it as a wedding reception site.
  8. MY fear is that when the playoff roll around...We'll have a Jim Belushi sighting!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! :puke :puke He is the biggest celeb-sports-whore around. Any Chicago team in the playoffs can put money on the fact that Jim will stop by, wear that team's hat and show up in the booth to chat about his show and how he is Mr. Chicago... Ugh
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 10, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) Some folks I know met her while BM was filming here and said she was very down to earth, and did a bunch of charity work while in town. Nothin like the idiot she's apparently become. I also caught her giving Tom some award on MTV... again.. she acted like a complete moron. BM? Bowel Movement -The Movie?? Ewwww I thought she was in Batman Begins...or BB?
  10. I love gaining a half-a-game on a day off!
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) Gameday says that Lopez is still in. It also says Morneau is up.,..again
  12. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 09:34 PM) If anyone ever showed up to the Cell wearing a shirt like that they'd probably get "heaved" into a trash can face first. I agree Thats why these "men" will hide behind the anonymity of the internet, never show their faces, take cheap shots at Hawk and think they are funny & tough. When, infact, they are children and cowards. Not worth our time...
  13. Just ignore them...they'll go away. Bunch of small-mided punks without anything better to do. I can't wait to see the first guy wearing a "heave the hawk" t-shirt to The Cell. It probably won't be one of the guys running that site. Them seem like cowards, hiding their faces and all. To them I say... :finger
  14. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) Think about it this way, if you take out the Series the Sox and Twins have played (Sox are up 4-1), then the Twins are only 1 game behind us. and IF the Queen had balls she'd be the King...
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) Dave Martinez... and didn't Paco paly a little OF also..? Yes he did... Let's also not forget Ellis Burks and Mike Devereaux!
  16. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) Exactly what I was thinking, Tony. You guys do realize that Yahoo has a nice fantasy baseball program, and MVP 2005 was released a while ago, right? The "Fantasy baseball/ Playstation 2" mentality that occupies these trades make me laugh, too.
  17. Here's a good question: If A-Rod were to have a career-ending injury this year...Would he go to the Hall??
  18. El Duque wanted to go one more inning because he was in a real grove at that point. But Coop and Ozzie were playing it right. He just got off the DL, he was in line for a win. Ozzie could use some of the Bullpen because of the day off...etc
  19. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) Me too, Uribe at 3rd would be a lot better than having Crede play everyday. Plus Wilson gets on base and is a solid hitter who can be relied on. Wilson is having a really bad year. Hitting .237 and a .274 OBP. In fact his career OBP is only.302 Not really an upgrade. Mackowiak, on the other hand, is hitting .346 with a.425 OBP His career is .335 Not great, but better. Plus he can play all the outfield spots too.
  20. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 07:27 AM) This means very little. We have the best record in baseball and are only 4 games up, and that will probably be 3.5 games after today, assuming the Twins play. How unlucky is that? Not unlucky at all... The twins are a great team, pure and simple. Think about it from their point of view: "We are playing at full strength! We have the Cy Young winner and two of the top young hitters in the AL (Monreau & Mauer). We are playing at the TOP of OUR GAME!!....and we are STILL 4 games behind the White Sox who are now heating up in the hitting dept." THAT is unlucky!!
  21. This is not Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball guys... :headshake
  22. QUOTE(I_WANT_CHAVEZ @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) the guy that posted it lived in chicago though Just drop it, OK?
  23. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) THERE IS A GOD!!!! REALLY?!? LH pitcher who can thorw 96 Has 25 SO in 22 inning and a 2.42 era Solid set-up man. 9 holds So who takes his place, eh? Since you are so happy he's gone. I think you should re-think you're statement about one of your players getting hurt.
