  1. Every game I go to I collect some hair from the best player of that game. By the end of season I will have my full-size White Sox "hair" player to keep me warm at night.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2005 -> 05:10 PM) So you'd think we'd all be getting together and not be drinking? Man when they stuffed your plushie head they must have only put stuffing in it... And as for that plushie lovin, you know the bigger and plushier the better meow
  3. I'll be at that game, so be sure to tell me if you guys (and gals) are tailgating beforehand. I want to give Mike some Plushie-Lovin!
  4. WELCOME!! Be sure to check out the swimming pool on the roof! It's awesome!
  5. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:14 PM) just picked up Timlin in my fantasy league. and Embree gets the save....
  6. Umm... He pitched last night.
  7. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) I wish Herbert would come out of retirement and play some third for us. I'm sorry...How's is anything tonight Crede's fault?
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 08:12 AM) They didn't have numbers then. The mid 20's Yankees were the first to have numbers on their backs, and even then the number on their backs were corresponded to their spot in the batting order. And that's why, kids, Babe Ruth was number 3... So endeth the lesson
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) The problem here is that you assume our pitching will remain at a constant level all season. Given that El Duque has been inconsistent and injured, 2 of our bullpen guys have been inconsistent, we don't know how long we can count on Contreras, and this has thus far been a breakout season for Garland, Cotts, Politte, and a few others, the question remains; can we keep winning with pitching all year. We can if everything continues the way it has. But everyone knew in May that we would need the offense to pick up for this team to really put everyone away. It's showed some signs of doing it for most of June...we just need to not slow down (i.e. the past few games) for long periods any more this season. IN 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004...All the comments were...We need pitching, we can't rely on our Bats all year. What if they go cold??
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) I'm not saying that I want to trade him but what is Carl's trade value at these days? A team like Annaheim would be interested. They are looking for a DH. But I don't see KW trading him really... Even if you don't start him, it's a helluva bat to have coming off the bench. Especially during the playoffs.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) Widge pops out. INning. 5-1 Sox. FIRE GREG WALKER!!!!
  12. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) Hehe, pull baseball is working excellently today. Faith my young padawan....
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) I was being sarcastic ribbie, I know you haven't been around here much lately but I defend the team as much as anyone in these game threads so I was just making light of the situation. Sometimes I forget...Some remarks are so obviously sarcastic they don't need to be in green.
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Meh, this team still sucks. I'm sorry they just do, no one here can deny that.
  15. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) psst...notice the headbanging guy is holding two fingers up... That and Plushies have no thumbs...
  16. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) How true, I never even thought of that. I thought it was very funny to hear that the Tigers were laughing on the bases last night...thought they had it in the bag. So did a lot of people here...
  17. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 09:52 AM) I can't wait for this movie to come out. After the only commercial I saw for this movie, I HAVE TO SEE IT!!! It had something to do with Willie Wonka telling someone not to touch the squirrels' nuts and cut to a shot of a squirrel b**** slapping someone. I was dying after seeing that clip. Thats from the original book. The Gene Wilder movie changed the squirrels into Geese that lay golden eggs. In the book (and I guess the new movie) the Squirrel's are sorting good nuts from bad nuts....Veruca Salt is a bad nut.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 08:16 AM) If Aaron Rowand played CF last night, Brandon has his first ML win. True that... That's alright, we got the team win!
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 08:11 AM) Scroll down to the rumor mill section. So, no Chavez, no Randa and no Schmidt. Who's out there that is not only attainable, but also helpful? http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-doug30.html That's what they said last year about Garcia. That the Yankees were going to get him because the White Sox did not have the players Seattle wanted...
  20. I just saw this film last night. It was great. This isn't fuzzy Spielberg who gave us Hook and ET. This is down and dirty Spielberg. He is showing us a genocide. A brutal attack without remorse. There are no cocky pilots or computer viruses to upload. We are not privy to what the President thinks, there are no sappy images of children running in front posters of JFK. ...This is about one man, one very flawed man, acting on his own insticts...to save his family at all costs. Spielberg keeps his camera at ground level throughout most of the movie. There are no "money shots" of huge CGI scenes of cities being blown up. You are made to feel you are in the chaos. People turning into ash in front of your face. This is a war. This is about fear. Tom Cruise is fantastic. His character is that Frat Boy whose life has past him by... He wasted his opportunities. Dakota Fanning is scary good. This girl is only 11, she must be a robot. And the Tripods...badass motherf***ers! This is not a remake of George Pal's version. This is a modern look at HG Wells story, just as Pal's was in his time. All three are allegories for the World we were living in... I give it two fingers way up!
  21. QUOTE(Yoda @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Same here. Same here.
  22. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) We didn't want to win that game. :headshake
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Because I can't imagine any team not being able to score 1 run with the bases loaded and no outs. Faith, my freind...faith...
  24. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 07:26 PM) Bases loaded, no outs? What else would anyone expect? Thank God the Tigers suck at situational hitting and with RISP. Well, if you know how bad the tigers are with RISP and situational hitting...Why are you saying the Game is over then??
