QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 09:06 AM) I've tried this place...garbage...if you like this, you'll love Carm's in Hillside...go try it. Novi's is Grade A dog food. I love Carm's in Hillside too!! I will respectfully disagree with your assesment on Novi's. We still need a drolling icon.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 28, 2005 -> 07:34 AM) Advance word on LOTD is quite good. So good in fact, they moved up the release date to a Big Summer Weekend. Also, as stated above in a previous post, his Zombie flicks always had an underlying message. From what I read about this film and from the trailer, George is making an allusion to Terrorism and the USA. The plot is simple... In a modern-day world where the walking dead roam an uninhabited wasteland, the living try to lead "normal" lives behind the walls of a fortified city. A new society has been built by a handful of enterprising, ruthless opportunists, who live in the towers of a skyscraper, high above the hard-scrabble existence on the streets below. But outside the city walls, an army of the dead is evolving. Inside, anarchy is on the rise. I am assuming this fortified city is the USA and the zombies are terrorists. We can't no longer hide, we have to fight. So thats cool...and I hope we see people get eaten too!!

Yes, it was an ugly game on both sides. Yes we lost. But there are always games like this. Hell even the 116 game winning Mariners of 2001 had games like this. They blew a 12 run lead to the Indians in one game. I know some will see this loss and it will jusitfy their doom and gloom thoughts on the team. But a good team always bounces back from a tough loss. So. If we win tomorrow... We would have had a 7-1 road trip..pretty damn good. Still have not lost a series this season...pretty amazing. Still own the best record in MLB. Still have a 4 game lead on the Twins, maybe more if they lose. There are a lot of positive things to see. Shrug it off and let's kick some ASS tomorrow!!!

Dear Soxtalk, Sorry if we found out about your team. When Peter Gammons "Googled" Red Sox, your team came up with "Sox" in the title. Then we noticed your record and mentioned it. It was an honest mistake. It will never happen again. Sincerly, ESPN

I think your opinion of other people's opinions sucks!!

QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 06:22 AM) From the artist's sketch it looks like an open-air stadium, no roof. I hope the Twins like spending every April on the road. Maybe they can get that killer West Coast road trip to start their season off on the wrong foot? That'd be nice..... It isn't If you click on the virtual tour videos, you'll see it's like the new stadium in Seattle with the retractable roof.
-
Nothing will ever be as magical like the first home game back from that road trip in 2000. After we spanked the Indians and the Yankees, going 8-0 on that trip, the Monday night home crowd was electric!! The spontaneous standing ovation that occured during the old White Sox sonata was incredible. Sox Pride was at it's peak! We can repeat that again this season, when the time is right.

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) Totally agree. This team actually reminds me of the 1990 White Sox team that won 94 games (Damn Oakland and their 103 wins)

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) As much as I hate it when someone says 'The Sox suck because KW didn't sign the guy I wanted, the immortal [insert AAA/$25 mil talent here]'... I hate it just as much when someone says, 'We're winning, so I don't want to hear anything negative out of any of yous'. No thought police is why this is a good site. I never said: "Don't post anything negative" I said: Don't think so negative all the time or you'll miss out enjoying this wonderful start!

QUOTE(HSC's Biggest Fan @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) If your going to steal my material at least give me credit. How would you like it if I changed my name to Uribe and Rubarb. LOL... I didn't steal. You were my inspiration!

Don't be a Chicken Little! Enjoy your White Sox, please? Stop thinking of reasons we'll lose. You'll make yourselves depressed.

QUOTE(ptatc @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) I was listening to the game on XM. They use the home team broadcast. the tigers broadcasters were commenting on the hot start of the Sox. They said the hot start won't last because Contreas and Garland won't be consistent, Hernandez won't make 25 starts and they have bad infield defense especially that shortstop. Someone tell them Valentin isn't playing here anymore.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) Seriously, I just don't understand why some people are so worried about where stuff gets posted. If it is egregiously in the wrong place, one of us will move it. I sorry, but your reply to that comment should be in the "Sex, Lies & Politics" board since it has nothing to do with Sports.
-
Why are so many people on this board so pessimistic? So, if there is a downfall, you can say "I told you so" or not be too depressed?? If there is a downfall, fine... But for now... ENJOY!!! ENJOY!!! ENJOY!!! We are playing some exciting baseball and winning!! P.S. The difference between us and the 2003 Royals is they were a young team overachieving. Beuhrle, Garcia, El Duque and even Garland have been the MLB for a long time and now how to win. Our line-up is filled with Vets from winning teams.
-
They did have the same record last year at this time. As much as I would like to see the Yanks falter, they have proven in the past they can turn it on and win.
