  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 11, 2007 -> 11:50 AM) Though I am probably a tad bit over sensitive about stuff like this at this present time. 'Cause you're fat?

    QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 05:59 PM) It's called "Cloverfield" http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/conten...076329c1ca10481 That's the fake name it was being filmed under to deflect any interest in it...like "Return of the Jedi" was called "Blue Harvest" during its filming.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 03:17 PM) Ya, he is no longer in the Sox system. IIRC he was a catcher while in the Sox system and they looked quite a bit alike. For awhile they switches places so the older Carlos could see what it's like living like a regular person and the younger Carlos could see what its like living like a rich British teenager. It was wacky and funny.

  7. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) If somebody wants to call me the worst poster on the board, that's fine. At least let them be somebody with a shred of knowledge though. Do you think Rex Grossman should retire from the NFL?
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) Which is why what he did tonight makes no sense. It goes against the work Ozzie has done handeling Danks the entire season, as he's always tried to get him out on a good note. I'm not hating on the handeling of Danks this year overall as it's been good, but tonight was laughable. He'll have a week to think about the disaster in the 7th instead of all the good he did the 14 innings before that now. Why don't you send him a Teddy-gram and a bowl of soup so he doesn't cry.
  9. That's awesome! And the love is still spreading across the internet! Look at what Wikipedia says about me! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ribbie
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 09:27 PM) I was utterly bewildered he left Danks in. If this were Mark or Jon or Javy even ok, but Danks is a rookie and had been struggling for a while until his last outing. We were up 8, he had thrown 6 strong and 100 pitches and there we no need at all to leave him out there for the 7th. Our pen can hold an 8 run lead. I don't see how this point is unreasonable. Hindsight is 20/20 If Ozzie took him out when you said he should and our bullpen started giving up runs like it did on Monday, you be the first one screaming that Ozzie should have left him in. Let's face it...if Ozzie sneezes, you think he should have coughed. If he coughs...why didn't he sneeze?!?
  11. Yeah!!! And to add on... Hey Ozzie, why did you let them wear the white uniforms?!? We all know the black ones look cooler at night!!! You shouldn't have let the youngster pick out the white pinstripes!! What are you thinking?!? Whoever said Ozzie had zero fashion sense was 100 percent right! Horrible.
  12. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) No Wave? That would be heaven...
  13. In the NBA and NHL, you don't have to be an All-Star to participate in skills competitions. So I see no problem here.
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 02:00 PM) Don't forget the shorter bathroom lines.. Maybe I'll have the upper deck to myself again when I re-up
  15. To answer your question...yes the White Sox would make the playoffs because the respective fans of those teams would riot and burn their stadiums down at the sheer absurdity of those deals. The teams would have to forfeit the rest of the season and the Sox would be in the playoffs. But why stop there?? Why not offer Lance Broadway for Jake Peavy, Tadahito Iguchi for A-Rod and Jim Thome for the Lost Ark of the Covenant? Then we would be unstoppable!!!
  16. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 11:40 AM) They can also try Robin - who they actually didn't try to nickel and dime, but rather did nothing. Ozzie, also if they want to get picky. Exactly... Robin is the only one I could think of that was healthy, productive and a free agent. So ONE player in the 20+ years of ownership does not make a trend as Drew was quick to say.
  17. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 11:31 AM) How about Frank Thomas? Or Magglio Ordonez? Really? Considering the injuries they both sustained in their contract year?
  18. QUOTE(Drew @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 12:49 AM) Ridiculous. Nickel-and-diming your franchise player out of town. Can't say I haven't seen Reinsdorf do this before, though. Still waiting for some names. You just can't make a disparaging claim and not back it up.
  19. QUOTE(Drew @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 12:49 AM) Ridiculous. Nickel-and-diming your franchise player out of town. Can't say I haven't seen Reinsdorf do this before, though. Who?
  20. We saw Ratatouille this weekend...what a beautifully made movie. One of the best films of the year. We were so hungry afterwards we had to get French food. We went to Cyrano's on Wells. Wonderful. Anyway... This is not your expected animated fare full of recent pop culture jokes and big name stars phoning in voice over performances. In fact, two of the main characters in the movie are voiced by middle-level Pixar employees and they are perfect. The visuals in this film are breathtaking. The longshots of Paris are like postcards. The street scenes filled will fog and light add the romance of the city and the story. The food...wow. I have never seen animated food look so delicious. You could smell the kitchen. The characters and the film's message are refreshingly not spoon-fed to you. This is an intelligent script that doesn't talk down to the kids or to the adults. Don't think kids won't enjoy that. My son is 8 and he loved every second of it. There will be talk about it's opening weekend and how it's lower than other Pixar films. Don't let this discourage you. This film, unlike the other Summer fare, is original, funny and touching and will have the legs to last the summer. Spread the good word and go see it! BTW, the short before the film is called "Lifted" and it is hysterical!!!
  21. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) I'm not living in the past. I refuse to support JR while he is still owner of the Bulls, how is that living in the past? I didn't agree with what he did and that's it. Right...and the same ownership and management are running the White Sox since 2005... But we are living in the past. Answer me this...How does one eat when they are speaking from both sides of their mouth?

  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) Snap, snap, snap. Oh I went there!
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 03:20 PM) I'm safe to meet up with. I've put only 3 posters from here in the hospital. But it was worth it!
  25. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 03:22 PM) My anger towards KW is not only directed at him. I understand he represents JR and the Board, believe me I have anger towrds them as well. To this day I refuse to support the Bulls or anything related to the Bulls after JR dismantled that team and chased away MJ and Phil. So my anger is not only against KW. The way they do business by not signing pitchers to long term deals, which 4 years to me isn't long to begin with, their not signing big name free agents, isn't a good strategy. Especially being in a big market. That's just the way I look at it. Stop living in the past. The past is for cowards!
