UPDATE: So my son comes home with a Cub stickers all over his backpack and folders. Plus a 8x10 picture of Michael Wuertz on a stick to wave around. We have removed the stickers and crap, but he won't give up Mr. Wuertz. I must stay strong.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 28, 2007 -> 09:08 AM) a tip of the parenting cap to you Ah, thank you sir.

He went off to school today in a blue shirt that had a baseball flying across it. If only our world leaders could learn from us...
-
His school doesn't have uniforms. We're torn between a blue shirt and the Kong jersey...

His elementary school has declared this Friday as "CUB PRIDE DAY" They have asked the parents to send the kids to school that day in Cub paraphernalia to "support Chicago's team into the playoffs" Granted, they did do this in 2005 with the White Sox (but they waited until they won the ALCS). What does a proud White Sox parent do??? (BTW, he is in 3rd grade) My wife suggests sending him in his Konerko jersey...lol Your thoughts?

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Sep 20, 2007 -> 02:43 PM) Is there anyway we can get both DeJesus and Greinke next season? Damn they would look good in a sox uni. I believe the "Former Royals" experiment failed this year.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 20, 2007 -> 02:53 PM) Flash and I met. I call him Flash. He calls me Pratt. Good conversation about all sorts of topics. Who paid for the hotel room?

QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 19, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) Good comparison. That is my fav Hitchcock movie. Novak was beautiful! The scene where she wakes up naked in his bed. Even today...wow. She was only 25 at the time. Stunning. Jimmy was 50. Lucky bastard. Pays to be an actor, boys...even then.

I watched "Vertigo" last night with the wife. She had never seen it before. Its one of my favorite movies of all time. Thrilling, sad, romantic and haunting. What a beautiful film. Also, it struck me how much Elisha Cuthbert looks like Kim Novak. Lucky her...and us.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Sep 18, 2007 -> 01:32 PM) I just don't know what to think after seeing these: Buffy The Vampire Slayer Hate to break it to you...But when you get past the title, Buffy was one the best TV shows of the 90s Incredibly well-written and acted.

Vanessa Hudgens should follow her own advice, I think. Then again...maybe not.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 09:24 PM) That is sweet. Every other team in the league now moves up one slot. The Belichick fine is awesome. His reputation is shot. Does that mean they also lose the other 2008 first round pick they acquired from the 49ers this year? I don't think it does. So they still have a first round pick. Seems like they were prepared. -
This is going to be big. How does this taint their dynasty? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3014677

Indy 4 has a title: INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL. It was annouced during the VMA's last night by Shia Lebouf, but has since been confirmed. Here is the annoucement on the official web-site: http://www.indianajones.com/site/index.html And here's the logo: I'm sitting on the fence right now...I don't know what to think.

QUOTE(drive like jehu @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 10:23 AM) I'll take a stick up my ass over a tummy full of kool aid any day (plus I think the stick does less damage, serious or not). You could have pointed out the change of the seating layout behind home plate. However, I don't think those changes were made for your average Sox fan attending the game. I said I could be wrong. I'm not the one posting with the certitude of what is or is not whining nor what is the correct direction to b**** and moan. I would agree that is easier to judge someone else instead of looking in the mirror. You think I'm wrong and that's OK. Either we have miscommunicated or we have a difference of opinion. in fact, you MIGHT be right! Take Steff for example, her analogies points out her opinion that I may be a grumpy trouble maker. My analogy points out that she is delusional. Those opinions are not mutually exclusive. They both may be true. I've been a long time lurker on this site, and I believed it was one of those message boards that was able to agree to disagree when a difference was discovered. However, if I'm wrong (and as stated before, it is a possiblity), I can easily fix things by moving onto greener pastures. It's OK with me if you want to think the Mauve Monster is an "adaquate" ballpark. It's OK with me you want to attend games after the 1994 strike. It's not OK to create a forum asking for opinions and then be shocked when someone has a different view. Or at the least I'm not OK participating in such a forum, becuase at that point, it really isn't a forum anymore. You hate the White Sox, you hate Baseball and you hate fans who like the above. Why don't you join this club: http://www.chicagofirejuniors.com/ Its a different sport and a different stadium. It may make you a happier person. Until then my mom says I can't play with you anymore.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 09:54 AM) My list of who I would like to see fired the most... 1. The Opera singing Hot Dog vendor in Detroit (I know he doesn't work for us, but I hate him so much) 2. Almost anyone in our bullpen who weighs under 270 pounds 3. Juan Uribe 4. Scott Podsednik's groin 5. Jose Contreras arm angles 6. The Flying Spaghetti Monster for raining out all of those games 7. Toby Hall's Labrum 8. Andy Gonzalez's agent 9. The Sox Pride Crew 10. Jim Thome's back 11. Celebrity Look-a-like game between innings 12. The guy who beats the drum in Cleveland. 13. Paul Konerko's hip 14. Jay Marriotti 15. The fan who reaches over the wall while the ball is in play 16. Jay Marriotti 17. Whoever decided to discontinue the Fried Chicken Dinner at concessions 18. The ticket rep who gave my seats away 19. Jay Marriotti 20. Bud Selig

Jay Marriotti calling for someone to be fired...YAWN. If Jay Mariotti was a GM of any team, there wouldbe a new manager each month Hell, look at his quotes on Lovie Smith: All I know is, a man named Lovie cannot coach the world-famous Chicago Bears ...Sun-Times columnist Jay Mariotti, Jan. 14, 2004 Lovie Smith, racking up Coach of the Year votes by the week...Sun-Time columnist Jay Mariotti, November 14, 2005 Let me give it to you real, Lovie Smith...If Rex Grossman remains your quarterback, your season goes splat in January. You won’t see a contract extension, the city will call for a full-blown probe of your pedigree and years of Bears disgust will plummet lower than Lower Wacker Drive.....Jay Mariotti, Dec. 4, 2006 Listen closely, those who agree with Jay: He'll be asking for LaRussa head next May, July and September too.

QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Aug 28, 2007 -> 01:45 PM) Its not just this team, its the whole organization. There has been regular decline during Williams watch "Regular Decline" would insinuate that since KW took over, the White Sox have seen their records go down each year. As bad as this year has been...thats just not a true statement.
