  1. I nailed the 25 man roster, not that it was a big mystery, but I got it right! Yay me!
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 12:00 PM) I think the highest value McCullough had was the day he was drafted. It was all downhill after that. That's fair to say, but he did pitch really well for Winston-Salem in 2007.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 11:00 AM) I think there is a good chance that McCulloch and Whisler are not long for this organization. That would be too bad for Whisler, he's a good guy who's worked hard and pitched well in Charlotte. I hope he gets a chance, if not with the White Sox, then somewhere.
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 09:24 AM) Any confirmation on McCulloch moving to AAA? His performance hasn't warranted it, but there's really no place left for him to go at this point That's true, but I didn't know where to slot him. He's played two whole seasons with B'ham, with no positive progress. They should've sold high on him in 2007. Ever since he landed in B'ham, it's been all downhill.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 08:59 AM) Well, I guess this answers the questions you had previously about who would play 3B in Charlotte. So now Charlotte would be: C: Flowers 1B: Viciedo 2B: Retherford SS: Lillibridge 3B: Colina OF/DH rotation: Gartrell/De Aza/Danks/Kroeger The rotation, I still have no idea - some five of Hudson, Marquez, Harrell (might go to pen), Hynick, Whisler (might go to pen), Torres (might go to pen), McCulloch. Colina and Castillo would definitely split time at third, and would split time at first if Viciedo is playing third.
  6. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) Wow I am a p****. Tell us something we don't know.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 07:44 AM) Did we send him to the Mets last year? Yeah, he was traded to New York for what, I don't know. They had to make room in Charlotte for Wilson Betemit.
  8. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 12:07 AM) I didn't say Gartrell doesn't have patience at the plate, I just said he strikes out a lot. He drew a lot of walks when he was in Birmingham. Tell the Birmingham News that that's not Marrero. It's not a picture of his batting stance, he's warming up. I know, I was just pointing that out to anyone who was worried about his strikeouts and didn't know about his plate discipline. The News was told about that picture before, but never corrected it.
  9. Three things...Gartrell struck out a lot of the time looking. He was always seeing 7-8 pitches an at bat, so he was being very selective. So his strikeout rate isn't actually that bad. That is not a picture of Christian Marrero, that's Javier Colina. And, John Shelby was thrust into the leadoff roll at the start of 2009. I think that's what caused him to struggle, going from the middle of the order to the top.
  10. New version up in original post. Added Javier Castillo to the mix.
  11. Javier Castillo must have been signed recently, because he's playing first base right now. Big Board update time.
  12. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 11:24 PM) Nix makes a great snag but botches the throw, I'm sure Paulie picks it but it was Castillo instead. Didn't realize that Javier Castillo was back in the organization. That must've been a recent signing.
  13. I was x-rayed and I only have two wisdom teeth, and they're both on the left side. I let them come in because there was room for them.
  14. Trade Nix to Detroit if the Sox take 13 pitchers.
  15. So if the Sox go with 13 pitchers, how about they trade Jayson Nix to Detroit, who's looking for a second baseman? I'm sure KW could get a A or AA pitcher for him. Is Nix really gonna come back to haunt the Sox?
  16. Holy s**t! Nah, you're not crazy at all, when you know, you know.
  17. I think Jesus Avila was cut, he's listed on a Mexican AAA team roster. Link
  18. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 09:47 PM) I don't think anyone can honestly deny Danks defensive prowess. The problem is determining whether he's a 4th OF or if he can hit enough to start in CF. I'm in the 4th OF boat, but hopefully he can prove me wrong this year in AA. I think they're sending him to Charlotte, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was back in B'ham at least for a month or two.
  19. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 07:53 PM) I am not disputing he is a great CF, but I want to see people other than his farm director, manager, or best friend saying this stuff as well. He is a tremendous defensive player.
  20. New version up in the original post, another update will come soon when I find out the other cuts from minor league camp.
  21. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) According the live box, someone named Ozzie Lewis has come in to play RF, subbing for TCQ. Who the hell is Ozzie Lewis? I have him as the Dash's projected DH on the Big Board.
