  1. Off subject, but the title is redundant. Don't fret, we have KW Jr. leading off for our AA team and hitting .190, problem solved.
  2. QUOTE (IChaseBlackWood @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:20 PM) Chase said he has an odd last name so its hard for him to remember it!! Lol I know that sounds retarded, but that's all I know ...he was drafted by the angels in '07 I believe. Jon Bachanov? He was just released by the Angels. Their first pick in 2007.
  3. QUOTE (IChaseBlackWood @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 09:13 PM) We picked up a pitcher from the angels today .. I don't yet know his name. Who's the mystery man, Bren?
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 10:03 AM) If you give me the five bucks, I will get rid of it for you! That's not fair!
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 01:52 AM) JPN, if I sent you 5 bucks could you get rid of your Gio sig? It pisses me off so much. I will never forgive that second trade. Mistakes should never be forgotten. I got to know Gio fairly well back in 2007, he is the nicest ballplayer ever. Off the charts character. Fun fact, Gio is only 25 years old, he turns 26 in September. That's young for a pitcher, a left handed pitcher, with a great curveball. Sorry, but my signature isn't the only place you're going to be reminded of that for the forseeable future.
  6. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) Was the Huntsville or Athens/Decatur area hit at all? Bad. North central Alabama was hammered.
  7. I never in my life thought an F5 tornado would hit downtown Birmingham, let alone to actually see it on live TV. It's not flat at all in and around there.
  8. The one that went through Tuscaloosa tracked all the way to Birmingham, 50 miles, then onto Pell City, another 50 miles.
  9. If anybody was wondering, I'm okay. My brother in law was in Tuscaloosa, he almost died. His apartment was hit directly. He was blown out of it and tossed several feet, he saved a woman and her child, but got more hurt in the process. Numerous injuries, lost a lot of blood from a laceration on his foot, concussion, etc. It completely missed us, but came close.
  10. Nate Jones imploded.
  11. I feel as if there's a George Carlin joke in all of this...In football, when there's a labor issue, a judge tells them to end the lockout. In baseball, they just let it go on and on. I sure he could've said it better, but you get the gist.
  12. Justin Collop was put on the DL. No corresponding roster move has been made.
  13. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 04:48 PM) I could see Christian Colonel being cut loose, it took him 7 games to finally get a hit and he was just keeping third base warm until Jon Gilmore was healthy. Or, a pitcher could be hurt. I'll see if I can find out. For Charlotte, Michael Restovich was activated from the DL and Adam "Emergency Back Up Catcher" Ricks was put back on the "DL." RHP Joe Bisenius was also signed. Shane Lindsay's going up to Charlotte, don't know who's place he's taking there.
  14. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) Winston-Salem and Kannapolis postponed. Charlotte delayed and could be joining them. The Barons are in action though. Mississippi @ Barons Short with a bomb. Griffith starting First pitch he saw.
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 07:03 PM) Joe's sister is HOT. Elaborate.
  16. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 04:14 PM) Tyson Corley and Kyle Shelton moved up to Birmingham to make room for Reed and Jake Oester. Leroy Hunt came off the DL for Kanny and Drew Lee got moved up from extended. Still trying to figure out what happened with the Barons' roster. I believe they're one heavy with those moves. I could see Christian Colonel being cut loose, it took him 7 games to finally get a hit and he was just keeping third base warm until Jon Gilmore was healthy. Or, a pitcher could be hurt. I'll see if I can find out. For Charlotte, Michael Restovich was activated from the DL and Adam "Emergency Back Up Catcher" Ricks was put back on the "DL." RHP Joe Bisenius was also signed.
  17. Leroy Hunt and Drew Lee assigned to Kannapolis, Addison Reed and Jake Oester promoted to Winston-Salem. Don't know yet who's spots they're taking with the Dash. Nick Ciolli may be hurt, he hasn't played in 4 days. The Barons do have an open roster spot though.
  18. QUOTE (IChaseBlackWood @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 04:39 PM) Drew Lee was called up to Kannapolis today!! Congratulations Drew!! What is the corresponding move?
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 09:47 AM) Tyler Kuhn es en feugo. I remember seeing some info from a scout about him... he just plain can hit. Problem is, he's mediocre or worse defensively at his many positions. This scout said he was so type-cast as such, that they even refer to other prospects with similar skill sets as "Tyler Kuhns". That must be old info, because he's fairly good defensively. Good instincts and quickness at 2B, good range in LF, above average at SS and 3B.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 08:29 PM) After CJ Retherford got a single off Jake, he said, "My arm! It's broken!". He certainly was shaking his arm. He looked uncomfortable even during warmups, his offspeed and breaking stuff was okay, between 85-88, his fastball was 92-93 and he wasn't getting it by anyone.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 16, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) My bad, that was a very drunken comment. This morning I did self-question my posting of it, but glad to hear everyone is OK. No worries, I wasn't offended.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 16, 2011 -> 01:50 AM) That was just Marshawn Lynch running around... While that's funny, I was being totally serious. We were dead to rights, as well as the rest of Pelham had that thing hit the ground. You could hear the grimness in the voices of the weathermen as they were talking about it.
  23. Funny thing is, the Knights were in Gwinnett to play the G-Braves. So, the deal was probably consumated while they were in town and they left him behind when they headed to Norfolk. Gonna miss Stefan.
