From the time Milledge was DFA'd and Gray was brought up, until Peavy was activated, there were no significant roster changes. The same 25 guys were on the roster for a whole month. Teams struggling that bad tend to shake things up.

Where the hell is that bum Shipps?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) TSA took it too far last time I flew simply because of this thread. I think I lost my anal virginity. You're asking for it with that one.

Looks like Teahen's beginning a rehab assignment with Charlotte today.

I think it's time to move Michael Blanke up. He has more hits than both Dash catchers combined.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2011 -> 11:14 PM) Hangover II was awful. I wanted it to end 40 minutes in... what a disappointment. I dug it. Best line in the movie was Alan..."I see that this is a fishing village. Is there a Long John Silver's?" And, Stu's special moment was hilarious. So, if they do a part 3, does Alan get married?

I stay logged in 24/7, so even at 3,4 or 5 in the morning, I'm technically here, Qwerty.

Going to see "The Hangover 2" this afternoon.

Griffith also induced 16 ground balls to 1 fly out.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 26, 2011 -> 08:58 PM) Real nice outing for Griffith, which is...new. The Mudcats are the worst team in the Southern League. They're 13-34, they've won 3 games in the past two weeks.

6 games now that Milledge hasn't played.

QUOTE (OilCan @ May 26, 2011 -> 10:21 PM) That's my AAP! 78 pitches in 8 innings?!?!? WOW. Ummm, oh s***! The world's ending.

Ewww, all three in one day. Haha, Milk's still a baby.

QUOTE (flavum @ May 26, 2011 -> 08:19 PM) Kuhn 2-3, walk in the leadoff spot. Keep him there. He had a track record of success hitting leadoff last year, why he wasn't put back in that spot is beyond me. Oh yeah, I forgot, he got Juniored.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 26, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) kuhn having quite a year. maybe he'll be our nick punto Don't insult Kuhn like that.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 26, 2011 -> 04:49 PM) Well, at least you're not paying Chicago prices! Do you have to pay much for parking now at AA games or you can still park mostly for free? I can just imagine the Barons' front office being inundated with irate fans requesting more David Cook or Maurice Gartrell at-bats and that KWJR should be benched or moved out of leadoff spot. Sounds a lot like the problem with the major league team, favoritism/nepotism for both Pierre and KW's son that seems unexplainable. Isn't he at least a step up from Josh Shaffer or Ozzie's son, though? I mean, he did play for one of the storied collegiate baseball programs in NCAA history. Parking is never free, I pay $105 for a full season parking pass for the "A" lot. The Barons front office has no control over player personnel. Plus, most people don't realize the connection. I think he was the 4th outfielder at Wichita State for 4 years. No, he's much worse.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:28 AM) You've got Short and Kuhn in the B-Ham lineup.... and you STILL lead off with KW Jr? Seriously? And he'll continue to as long as he's not on the DL. Hate to be a broken record, but imagine paying to see it.

QUOTE (bighurt4life @ May 25, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) Former Sox farmhand David Cook is back from the dead and playing for Carolina now. Mentioned that two weeks ago when they were in town to play the Barons, I asked him to hit a homer for me and he did.

Thank you FOX for canceling "The Chicago Code."
-
Dexter Carter and Nick McCully assigned to Kannapolis, but Steven Upchurch and Jacob Petricka placed on the DL. Kanny and B'ham still have one open roster spot each.
-
So, where's Lastings Milledge? 5 straight games he hasn't played.
-
Lame, Terry Doyle was sent back to Winston-Salem. That leaves open roster spots in B'ham and Kanny.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 24, 2011 -> 10:53 AM) I need some CD ripping advice. I want to go through and rip all of my CDs to an external hard drive. I have decided that I am going to rip each CD to a FLAC file and an MP3 file. I found software that can do BOTH at the same time on a Mac. Here's my quandry, it gives me the option to include the track number in front of the file name. So, each file would be [track number] [song title].mp3. I am not sure I like that because if i try to sort the files by name, it will sort by track number, not song title. Should I include the track number? The FLAC and MP3 files will include all of the album data embedded in them, so i wont lose the correct order. I hope you have a lot if storage space, because FLAC files are huge.

QUOTE (NHDadUmp-RI @ May 23, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) Per the Saturday Barons audio broadcast, Gilmore went back on the DL for a "knee problem". I wonder how that happened?

Wes Whisler and J.R. Ballinger have been demoted to Kannapolis and Leroy Hunt has been promoted to Winston-Salem. Apparently, Wes Whisler has been converted to a submarine pitcher, thus explaining his troubles with walks even in High A.
