  1. QUOTE (LayelBurton @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 07:11 PM) Jon Gilmore reactivated Luis Sierra re-assigned to Winston -Salem Gilmore should force KW Jr. out of the lineup. Nobody else should be benched over him. Not even Justin Greene.

    QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 04:06 PM) ...who is connected to the Mayor's campaign.
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) So they meant to say Detroit Tigers OF Magglio Ordonez asked to stay in AAA Toledo for more time? Wow, that's a big f*** up. Yep.
  4. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) What? It's what they call a typo, a major typo.
  5. According to the MLB Network crawl, White Sox outfielder Magglio Ordonez has asked the team for more time with AAA Charlotte.
  6. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) Obviously, Kuhn has been putting up great #'s and I figure you've seen him a lot, JPN, so what do you think of his potential? I've heard him projected as a super-utility guy down the road, due to his playing multiple positions in the minors. I'd certainly like to see him in Charlotte ASAP, and if he does well there, part of the mix next Spring Training as we look to fill the immense shoes of Juan Pierre. I think he's a prototype leadoff hitter. His only hitting weakness is going to the opposite field. Defensively, he doesn't really profile at any one position, but he has the right character to be a team guy who will play wherever needed.
  7. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:50 PM) Sorry, I too just have a tendency to be skeptical of what I hear when a person has an obvious bias against a player and I have heard quite literally the complete opposite about a player like less than 2 or 3 years ago from a source to whom I am much closer. I do appreciate any and all info you pass along. That bias was only about 10% of what it is now before the last two months. 25 or so games at the leadoff spot batting sub .200 is unforgivable. The Barons really started rolling once Kuhn was moved there. KW Jr. may have had speed in the past, but it's gone now. I know he missed half of last season with two separate DL stints. I'm certain one was leg injury.

    QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 02:28 AM) Another Killing theory.... I suggested that last week as my theory, Joe.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:07 AM) I don't know where else to post this, but I find it to be a disturbing indictment of our current culture... So, there is this huge wildfire burning in Arizona. Its a monster fire, burned like 400,000 acres so far, and keeps going. Approaching some towns now. CNN interviews a resident of one of the towns and his family, who are packing up a couple pickup trucks with everything they can fit to leave. Not everything fits of course. Their choices? --X-Box makes the cut, same with the dog --What doesn't make the cut and stays to burn: family photos, and the cat So... the X-box, easily replaceable, can go... but the irreplaceable family photos, and the LIVING THING, are left to burn? Seriously? WTF is wrong with people? Article Could they not find the cat?
  11. He's only 28, so it's not too late for him to become a side arming LOOGY.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) Oh ok. lol. You didn't quote him. I thought I said something. What he wrote was too long to quote. You wouldn't rail against me for telling the truth about the biggest stain on the White Sox minor league system.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:54 AM) Um, who are you talking to? witesoxfan.
  14. I've always passed along what I saw, good or bad. It's thoroughly insulting to imply I'm lying about what I see first hand. I see it this year, your friend saw it 3 or 4 years ago. I desperately wanted to see KW Jr. succeed and be productive, so that the playing time was justified. The reality is that he is simply not good, and is either overmatched or out of his element at AA. It's difficult to take video when he's never on base. Duane Shafer's kid got way too much playing time in Birmingham 9 and 10 years ago, he was awful. This is nothing new.
  15. He must've been slowed by leg injuries over the past few years. He's slower than the back up catcher. He looks like he's got lead in his legs and feet. It's not a lack of hustle, he's running as hard as he can. He's just not quick at all. But, what do I know? I must be hallucinating when I'm at the Barons games. I was willing to be proven wrong about him, but he's worse than I had imagined.
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 11:17 PM) I think you're onto something. Follow the money trail. Maybe it's KWJR or the Guillen clan who is now representing him? Can't wait for KWJR to join the White Sox F.O. as an intern two years from now. Must drive Hahn crazy. KW Jr. will be the clean up hitter for the White Sox in two years.
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 03:15 PM) I have a feeling this is going to be the first time Bristol doesn't suck. With all these college players, the BriSox should have a competitive squad. Hopefully that translates to a deep draft class. Who knows, but it's certainly an interesting case study to ignore high schoolers for the first two days of the draft. It could also be construed as being lazy developmentally.
  18. Carlos Torres is pitching for what amounts to the AAA team for the Tokyo Giants.
  19. What's the over/under on rehab starts for Peavy?
  20. KW Jr. now batting 7th, still not low enough in the order.
  21. It's good to see the White Sox made the right call giving Stefan Gartrell away for practically nothing. He's raking for Gwinnett.
  22. If Marquez was being sent to AAA, all he'd have to do is walk across the field.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 02:56 PM) The last 2 years he's been hurt. I know, but now he's healthy and pitching well and the White Sox lose him.
  24. The Yankees may see the benefit of his development with the White Sox, he's pitched better this year than the previous two years.
  25. The Knights pitching staff will be severely short handed now, with Harrell up and Marquez gone. That's two of their five starters.
