I'll get into it more tomorrow, but Dan McCarney lost another game going into halftime.

I'm off the Dan McCarney bandwagon and am deciding whether to put down stop sticks.

You'd think so. It should be the same environment as last years Iowa-ISU game, which is the loudest I've ever heard that stadium. A few tornados in the area would really spice up the atmosphere too.

So, that link you gave me, showed that in a month, Braley's 54-41 lead flipflopped to a Whalen 47-34 lead. Both may be outliers, but I'm pretty damn sure something big would have to happen to bring on a 20 point drop. I read that the Braley camp has distanced themselves from this poll, as expected, while the Whalen camp is now pushing it, as expected. It's a prime seat to switch from red to blue, so it's a pretty big deal. I already voted.....but something weird is going on in NE Iowa. Iowans don't change their minds that violently that quickly.

Resident BA mancrush here.... I'll agree, you do have to listen to what the Marlins have to offer, but this guy is still our starting CF for the forseeable future. Why else would KW have traded away Jeremy Reed, Chris Young and the llike? Must see something he likes in the kid.

Just 32 hours til the epic primetime matchup of Nebraska and Iowa State. They're expecting 57,000, which is pretty good for a stadium that seats 45,000.

Last thing we need are a bunch of old people taking away all our Funyons.

Retire the Hawk-isms!
I loved when Black Jack filled in, however. Long-term option?

Retire the Hawk-isms!
No. It's gonna be a sad day when we don't have Hawk anymore.

Looking for that last stocking stuffer this year?
At least it looks like Mohammed has a palatable taste in flipflops.

Ya know what sucks? I got an email last nite saying my journalism class was cancelled....big deal, because its an 8 AM class that lasts two hours. So, you know, my first class today is at 11, and instead of getting up around 6:45, I was gonna get up at 9:45. Someone decided to f*** around and pull the fire alarm at 6:00 this morning. Who does that? Of course, since my body is used to getting up around then, I couldn't fall asleep for damn near an hour. That earns a BOOOOO.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Oct 4, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) Simple. It's one poll. It's an outlier. So was the 13 point lead for the Dem. Most of the polls are showing a 1-9 point lead for the Dem candidate at this point that I've seen (and I've glanced across like five lately.) That's still a heck of an outlier. Needless to say Braley has led in every single poll I've seen....then to suddenly trail 13...what's weird is I've seen Whalen officials comment on it.....but it's an awful volitaile swing to have Braley leading 44-37 on Sept 18 to Whalen leading 47-34 on October 4.

I can almost guarantee the Iowa 1 is wrong. Braley had a 11 percent lead, and last I know, he hasn't stalked enough pages to drop 20+ points.

I'm sick and f***ing tired of hearing about how this team would have been better with Aaron Rowand than Thome. People need to realize he wasn't the f***ing be-all and end-all of centerfielders.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 3, 2006 -> 06:08 PM) Exactly my point. Thomas didn't hit .219 and the ankle didn't matter. Can you argue it's a business of results? I know we "had" to make changes after winning it all. But did he make the right changes? BA .... sucked. Rowand was missed. Blum ... starting today for Padres, could have remained, was Mack that good? Marte and Viz ... could they have been helpful especialy with Hermy hurt? Frank ... again, he is carrying that team single handedly. I am just saying Big Hurt is making KW look VERY BAD with each and every home run and each and every stellar performance. If Oz gets lambasted, why not KW for this move which can be second guessed. And I do love Thome. He was good this year; but did we need him when we could have had Hurt and addressed other needs like letting Aaron continue to play balls out and run into walls in cf.???? We didn't miss the playoffs because we didn't have Rowand, Blum, Marte, Viz and Frank. We missed the playoffs because our starting pitching took a s***.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 1, 2006 -> 06:16 PM) Both are teams are pretty weak. Iowa would be a lot better if they had the Tate of last year playing but right now you can just tell he's not 100% and its really effecting him. Did you like my text..lol

Best part of the game tonite was the band. They played songs from animated shows. They started out with the Simpsons theme song, which was nice. Next up, the Family Guy theme song, which was nicer. Then, two songs from South Park: "Blame Canada" and "What Would Brian Boitano Do?" Not only is it cool seeing thousands of drunken fans sing "What Would Brian Boitano do??", but I think we have a new theme song. "So what would Brian Boitano do If he were here today, I'm sure he'd kick an ass or two, That's what Brian Boitano'd do."

We've got pictures of someone, is all I can figure. I'm all about ISU exposure, but something tells me Nebraska will be more challenging than Northern Iowa. I'd expect you get ISU there. You can figure out what our allure is, because I'm not sure. Root for the little guy though.
