  1. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 03:21 PM) Now hold on. New Zealanders piss me off too, but I'm not advocating experimenting on them. To be fair, DBAH0 was a guest lecturer. Damn Oceaniacs.
  2. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 01:49 PM) Electrosynthesis? I'm assuming you meant electrophoresis. And if your kid is running DNA gel separations and doing some genetics experiments than I'd say she's better off than lots of students. As I said before, American science education is in a shambles and I'm the last person to defend its current state. I don't undervalue the importance of math, physics, et al, and don't deny they are at the heart of biology. But I disagree that our need for mathematicians and physicists is any more (or less) than our need to turn out capable life scientists. Heh, in my 10th grade Principle of Bio class we did gel separations and extracted DNA from a kiwi. And I didn't think we were doing much.
  3. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 4, 2006 -> 12:30 PM) Is Priest Holmes retiring? He might be available, as will be Dominack Davis after Houston selects Reggie Bush. Oh God, if they got rid of Davis.....imagine what he could do with an O-line..... I don't see it happening though. At least, not to Indy.
  4. Wow, I'm guessing I'm the only one watching the Big 12, but the Missouri @ Texas Tech game has been an interesting one to watch to say the least. Tech was up by something like 23 at halftime, but Missouri has cut the lead in half with around 8 minutes left in the game. Tech shot 65% or so in the first half but have been slowed down, only scoring 9 points in 12 or so minutes.
  5. Just go in there and try to sign up through Yahoo. Chances are there is still a spot.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 09:05 AM) IIIRC he's supposed to be hella fast. You did not just say hella.
  7. Also, I will totally not be surprised to see Tad in the 3-hole at some point this season, especially if the average is up.
  8. Dye has a sparkling average of .230 for his career hitting fifth. Remember when a ton of people hated him in April of this past year?
  9. Oh man, vintage ISU vs. Kansas is on. 1993, an unranked ISU team beats #7 KU in Hilton by 4. If there's one guy who I don't tire of watching, it's Freddy Hoiberg.
  10. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) God gets drunk? I'm pretty sure that explains Ann Coulter.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) Most fuels around here contain some percentage of ethanol. Here there's regular, plus (with ethanol) and premium. In all my time when I worked in a gas station (like 5-6 months) I think maybe 5 people bought premium.
  12. Good for Japan. However, in America, I'm a big one on stuff that has been scientifically supported. I don't need to read that solar eclipses are because God is quite possibly pissed.

Anyone here use ethanol regularly? It's all we use in our cars at home.

AJ Hermy (provided he wouldn't hurt the back) Anderson
  15. I'm pretty sure someone here is related to Marc Summers. This stuff is awesome.
  16. Batters: Albert Pujols David Wright Pitchers: Mark Buehrle Zach Duke
  17. Post your keepers from last year, unless we already did this, in which case I'm an idiot.
  18. And it makes me sad. I can remember all too well when he was hurt a few years back and Indy had to rely on guys like Rhodes and Ricky Williams. Rhodes is a fine #2, but he ain't a starter.
  19. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 01:02 PM) I loved watching Tom pitch, but two seasons just doesn't make him more than a "rent a player" to me. Steff, you were 18 years old when he pitched for the Sox And you are probably correct about Frank, but I just can't root against him. I'm still hoping for 500 and a trip to Cooperstown. You forgot a decade.
  20. I'm talking about like the Nazi comments. God, LCR/Heads in 08.
  21. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 07:07 PM) guys like him are the best thing the GOP has going for them entering the 06' elections "The Republican Party would have the American flag and the swastika flying side by side" lol, sure they would. so wrong on so many levels, congrats Mr.Bond http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=48635 It'd sure be neat if some democrats stopped doing acid before national speechs.
  22. Also, I updated the profiles of any award winners to show these honors.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) Well he goes to the fradulent "Boys to Men Academy" in Chicago because he is not eligible to play HS basketball in the state of Illinois (but went to boys to men since they will take anybody and aren't an IHSA member). He's a consensus 4 star recruit, but he'd probably be a 5 if he was still at Julian. Also, Koshwal's stock has been down a bit because at 6'8, 240 he has ideal PF size, but he has shown consistenly to be a very good 5 player, who struggles playing the 4. But...with all that said, this kid is still very strong, still very highly regarded, and still has an excellent skill set. If he can get his off the court issues together (which scared off DePaul and Illinois, allowing Iowa State to take the clear lead to get him since they have stuck with him), he could be a hell of a player. Morgan has no problem recruiting players with issues....Kellen Lee.....Ivan Chiriaev....Reggie George... Then he comes up with guys like Farnold Degand who are smart as f***. I'm hoping that ISU can just start a process next year where they just reload instead of rebuilding. In 2007 it'll be a team of Westbrook, Degand, Stinnett, Clark, Johnson, Hubalek, Taggart and the like. Excuse me if I get excited. I just hope the recruits can play defense.
