  1. Visit, visit, visit. Make sure it feels right. Talk with random people about the school. I like ISU as it's 2.5 hrs from home. Close enough I can get home in half a day or my parents can if need be, but far enough away that it just doesn't seem too close.

  3. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 13, 2006 -> 10:48 AM) Eddie Sutton is just a figurehead at this point. His son is really doing the coaching. I hope Sean cannot figure out what's going on when my jayhawks invade Gallagher-Iba. Have the Cowboys been able to figure out anybody this year? Except KState on the road?
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) Could have been him. Be sorry you missed out on that tourney run cause Kato was a total beast. Of course it wouldn't be ISU if they didn't eventually blow a big lead to UCLA and lose (so maybe it is good you don't remember it). At least you got Vroman in the NBA To be fair, the NCAA tourney in 2000 was a lot of fun. Tough game against Central Connecticut State. Nice win agains Auburn. Complete skullf***ing of UCLA, getting them back. Then the national champioship against MSU....there's a reason ISU still finished third in the polls.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) Wasn't Tinsley on that team as well? And who was on that squad that went down to UCLA. I remember Kato having an insane run of blocks, but can't think of who else was on the squad. Yes, Tinsley and Fizer were both juniors. Are you thinking of Dedric Willoboughy? I honestly can't remember back too far?
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 07:30 PM) Which Clone team was it that lost to the Spartans in the final four or elite eight (forget which one). It was held in Michigan and was all Spartan fans and at the end of the game (it wasn't Floyd but your guy that got canned a few years back, forget the name) finally got a T which ended the game. The other big game I remember was when UCLA was still pretty dominant and they had a total comeback on ISU and in the end hit a runner to win (that was another solid squad). Surprisingly Iowa and ISU have both had some good squads relatively recently (last 10 years or so). And I am so damn thankful for Haluska transferring. If we didn't have him we wouldn't be in 1st in the big 10 and we'd probably be the worse team in the big 10 next year (since we are losing everyone). All I know is Haluska will have to get even better next year and Freeman/Thompson and company are going to have to develop in a hurry. It would also be nice if Alford could bring in some big time recruits. If only Hinrich stuck around playing ball at ISU or Iowa. He's already my favorite player in the NBA...and that would only make it greater. It was Fizer's final year. Eustachy got the T. ISU lost to Michigan State in Auburn Hills, which would be similar to making Duke play UCONN in Boston.
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) Ya, I forget who but the Hawks supposedly pretty much had one of Hinrich/LaFrentz locked up or I remember hearing that. Don't remember which on. It killed me that year that KU went deep (w/Hinrich and Collison) both not playing in Iowa. I want the states best guys playing for the Hawks or ISU, case closed. So Tinsley should be a 2nd or 3rd team guy. He was darn good for the Clones and I still say that team got robbed by the home court the Spartans had. My dad told me that LaFrentz had always said Kansas, but had left the door open to Iowa. Hinrich comitted to Iowa State. I totally agree with you about the schools need to work harder in-state. Any coincidence Iowa is doing so well with Horner, Haluska, Brunner, Thompson, Henderson....all from Iowa? That team lost to Hampton. The Fizer team was robbed with their bracket placement. I don't quite figure out how you're in the running for that last one seed and you end up in the same bracket as the best team in the nation.
  8. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) stop whining, we beat you guys twice with ease. KU on the roll Iowa state also missed 7 front end of 1 and 1's. That is 7 more chances. Or, you know, according to online GameTracker play-by-play, they missed two front ends of 1-1's. But don't let actual facts get in the way of your reasoning. What about when Chalmers hooked Hubalek on the top of they key with his left hand and the foul was called on Hubalek? That foul is called numerous times on Stinson, but rarely have I ever seen it called on the defender. Enjoy this year, because the rest of the Big 12 isn't going to stay down. Just enjoy your #2 seed in teh Big 12 tournament.
  9. ISU - Kansas was one of the worst officiated games I've seen in a while. Iowa State was called for 10 more fouls and had KU shooot 20 more free throws in the game. It was ridiculous seeing KU players being able to reach in and/or skullf*** the ISU ball handlers, but if a player from ISU grazed a Jayhawk, it was a foul. Free throws the last two games (@KSU, @KU) ISU: 5-16 Opp: 45-57 I realize ISU has been fouling a lot before, but this seems to bit of a disparity that is outside the normal range of an expected total.
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 11, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) Iowa State always f***ing with ya Heads! I have no idea how there are old ISU fans. The football and basketball teams should have killed them off long before now.
  11. Kansas up 47-32 at the half, now up 59-55 with 11 minutes left....:rolly:
  12. I hope you aren't referring to Liebermann. He scares me to be honest. [/back to my liberal baby killing, puppy stomping ways]
  13. Big 12 10-year team: Hinrich Collison LaFrentz Ford Fizer Guess what? All three Kansas players were from the state of Iowa.
  14. Ugh. ISU @ Kansas in 90 minutes. ISU will f*** with me, I'm sure.

I searched for "abstract" in Google image search. I think that background is the first one that comes up. I just centered BAnd on the burst.

  19. QUOTE(minors @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) I think the law is solid. There are loopholes for rape and so on, I know the many of the southern states considering a law that limits abortions and outlaws gay marriage. But unfortunately the Supreme Court will not allow laws like this to stand Except it said in the first post that amendments pertaining to rape and incest and so on were rejected.

So, driving home from ISU today, we came across a gas station in Independence, Iowa that's selling at 1.89. Checking out gaspricewatch.com, that's among the lowest in the country. They're busy, if you were wondering.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 1, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) One can expect Iowa to crap out at Northwestern. It's what they do. Heh. I'm not right often, but predicting this was like predicting Gage to use bad grammar.
