  1. Aaaaaand Jose promptly doubles and we can't even enjoy it like we should.
  2. We have a pretty stellar record on these bang bang calls.
  3. Leadoff triple. He sure hits quite a few of those.
  4. I hope they bring up Aiken during the telecast, just because I'm morbidly curious as to Hawk's take.
  5. People don't typically intentionally misspell their own name in their Twitter handles.
  6. QUOTE (Lillian @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) In the two clips respectively. where Viciedo and then Abreu walk in a comical manner, my guess is that they are imitating Sierra. I've noticed how funny his gate is. My interpretation of the whole "schtick" is that the players either know, think, or suspect that Sierra is gay, or at least like to tease him about acting as though he is. Moises is so over the top about being openly affectionate toward the other players, and they appear to be giving him a little "taste of his own medicine". In any case, I don't think that they are dancing. They are mocking his manner of walking. I have no idea how much of the whole thing is just "tongue and cheek", or based upon something real, but it appears to be particularly prevalent with the Latin players on the team. I think it's hilarious, and they seem to be having a lot of fun with it. I have been living in Costa Rica for the last 25 years, and the culture there is much less "politically correct". "Ticos" openly tease one another about such things. I know that such behavior would be frowned upon in the U. S., but not in Latin America. Maybe a slight bit of over analysis.
  7. Cool with me. I don't really want him starting this year.
  8. Farmio is most definitely an acquired taste. And probably something you can't listen to too often.
  9. But wite told me there'd be 99.9999% that he'd....
  10. CNN reporting that the black boxes are still in Ukraine, after once reporting they were in Russia. Interesting that Putin says that Ukraine is essentially at fault since it happened over their countryside - I guess that means that he is acknowledging the Donetsk region as part of Ukraine? Ha. My money would still say that this was an error, separatists that either didn't know what they were firing at or some rogue element. I can't imagine any one of the sides being stupid enough to intentionally shoot the plane down.

  12. Totally ignoring the feathers.
  13. Whether or not you think Danks performance in the first half is a mirage, his salary is not crippling us in any way. All depends if you think he's actually a 5 ERA pitcher these days or not.
  14. Not really. Frasor has a better track record than any of them, I'd imagine. I'd also believe that Putnam is being looked at as a fluke (rightly or wrongly) and Petricka has a half year of successful relieving. I don't think Belisario would get you s*** beyond a flier A ball prospect.
  15. I'm hoping that 1.5 to 2 of those guys work out. 1.5 meaning we get a useful bench player.
  16. It's just another lottery ticket that it's probably not even worth paying attention to unless you love the minors.
  17. Fred Hoiberg had his pacemaker replaced yesterday. I know y'all miss him from his Bulls days.
  18. SEC Media Days are getting me in the mood for football. I have zero idea what to make out the Big 12. Oklahoma or Baylor might win it? TCU, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Texas in the middle? Tech next? Iowa State and West Virginia? Kansas? People may rip on the Big 12, but the conference is kinda interesting.
  19. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 02:58 PM) Yea, I'm torn. I am most likely moving to near Iowa City this summer. The major broadcast station is based out of Cedar Rapids, so it can flip between Bears/Vikings/Packers. I"m not sure I could guarantee I'd get all of the Bears games as "regional" Yeah, both KGAN and KFXA are both really random in terms of the game. All the Iowa stations are.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 01:47 PM) He's not supposed to be good but with a guy that young there's always going to be some potential for improvement. Yup. Flowers was always supposed to be a low end defensive catcher, but he's been perfectly cromulent* back there. I'm in favor of using this word as much as possible.
  21. I would say he's probably good to play again after the break. Ha.
  22. I've liked the transition to El Hombre better. Or Pito, which is the actual nickname that he has.
  23. It's worked with Zach Putnam and Hector Noesi already. It's useless to get worked up over transactions like these, even if you think the dude sucks.
