  1. Chase Utley 2 run triple, still no out bottom 1, Twins 3-2.
  2. At least the Phils seem to be game, first two on with no out.
  3. Watching This Week in Baseball, you can't help but pull for Ryan Dempster. From all indications he does seem like a good guy.
  4. We're so scoring at least 8 runs today.
  5. I still want an iPad, dammit. Not because I'm blown away by everything it does, but I actually think it'd be great just for reading. I want it for free, as well.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 14, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Fixed, because its awesome. Big Brother is really all im looking forward to. I think you just have to watch Entourage for what it is and not look too deep into it.
  7. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 19, 2010 -> 12:04 AM) I've done nothing but praise his performance in game threads, just because I'm not over the top in love with the man -- like Greg -- or think he's been an elite reliever all season -- like Greg -- doesn't mean I haven't appreciated his recent turn around. His stuff has returned in the month of June and it's breeding results, 7 baserunners in 9.2 IP is the exact opposite of what he gave us the first 2 months and it's awesome to see but teams with good, consistent closers don't throw a f***ing parade every time he does his job drama free because that's what's expected of him. I'm glad he's back to being a dominant force at the end of games, the first 2 months of the season f***ing blew because you didn't know what the hell he was going to do on the mound, it's a lot more fun when he's giving us 1-2-3 innings and getting his curve over. It's just sad that we're supposed to go bananas when the 6th highest paid reliever in the game has a dominant outing. I also haven't used a single "off the wall" stat concerning Bobby Jenks all year as it hasn't been necessary. And it means we have three guys we can trust at the back end of the pen again. Truth is, if we ever lead after 6, we should feel damn good game about that game. Peña has been pretty darn good as well. Sergio seems to be hitting some sort of wall. How bad, I'm not sure, but at least we can somewhat pick our spots with him. Linebrink has been mediocre, and Williams has been bad, but the back end of our pen is formidable with Jenks back to form.
  8. Sighh.......time for a history lesson for some of you. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40143
  9. I'm just saying Jenks fully deserved that criticism.
  10. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 11:17 PM) Fluid just means inflammation. I'm sure they are treating it with NSAIDS and ultrasound and the extra day or so is to let the meds take effect. Meds like ibuprofen are only pain killers until they have been in your system on a consistent basis for 5 days or so. This is probably the reason for the extra time to allow the anti-inflammatory effect to kick in. Sorry for the quick and inconsistent post. I'm in Boston for a convention and can't get to a computer often. Just getting back from Fenway for the Red Sox-Dodgers game. I saw two young pitchers that got really hit around. The score was 10-6 and neither pitcher made it through the 6th. Remind me how much we're paying you to be here?
  11. Jenks sucked hard at the beginning of the year. He's much improved.
  12. Damnit, this team is making me believe again. Saturday Matchups: CHW (Peavy) vs. WAS (Martin) MIN (Slowey) vs. PHI (Hamels) ARZ (Jackson) vs. DET (Porcello) Sunday Matchups: CHW (Garcia) vs. WAS (Lannan) MIN (Pavano) vs. PHI (Halladay) ARZ (Kennedy) vs. DET (Scherzer) In a perfect world, we can realistically be 3.5 games out of first by the off day. That's being optimistic, but the next two games are very winnable.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 10:30 PM) I know the NL supposedly sucks, but every day I add it up and usually the AL only wins one or two more games per night. If the NL sucks so bad, why isn't the AL winning 75 percent of the games in interleague? That's simply unrealistic.
  14. White Sox win, 5.5 back.
  15. Twins lose. Sox are 6 back.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 08:44 PM) They'll bunt with Pierre...I'm fine with it in this situation. Just not a fan of giving up outs.
  17. Kotsay! Nice start. DONT BUNT
  18. If CQ gets on, you might consider pinch running with Lillibridge.
  19. Damnit. At least Strasburg is out.
