  1. I personally really like the "popular thread" thing being showing first
  2. Any idea what's up with this @Heads22 ?
  3. Can you post a screenshot of an example section that illustrates this - Por Favor?
  4. I know very little about this but it obviously sounds absolutely awful, life threatening, and makes his dignity is more of a worry now than is the potential to play baseball ever again. ?
  5. The only way I could read the old site when on my desktop was to increase the browser window to 175% Isn’t that how it was for you too? Textually heavy sites on large resolutions will pretty much always require that type of action... though I guess media queries could be used to target resolutions of say 1336px and above - creating higher font size properties for those types of devices. In the end the only thing that accomplished thou is just eliminating a users need to press CTRL-+ a couple of times. ?
  6. Word... I read another poster say there was drag and drop animated gifs... is that what you used to post that? If so, how’d you do it?
  7. Having a user by user customization option isn’t really adviseable from my perspective for a site that is run on good will. Try to keep in mind that the major benefit of the transition over to this new software suite is first and foremost an improvement in functionality. The site now properly works on mobile, it has the ability to easily embed direct YouTube players and tweets from Twitter. There are other cool things like drag and drop attachments, adding multiple users to direct message threads, and many more that you’ll discover with more use. Speaking more directly to your comment about the color choices and overall “feel” of the site - keep in mind that what we’re all seeing is pretty much a base theme that has only undergone a little customization. I’m sure that in the coming days and weeks ahead, we’ll see a lot of changes to the theme which will improve your opinion. one last thing I’ll mention is objectively, the last sites layout was actually complete shit with no possibility to improve upon... it was stuck in the year 2002 and the main reason you like it better is most likely just because you had been using it daily for a long period of time. It was familiar and therefore comfortable for you... whereas this is new. Give it some time and I’m confident it’ll grow on you at the same rate that it itself grows.

    Alec Hansen

I'm concerned about this. Reminding me a lot of Rodon's injury and how it was "reported".... I also recall reading recently that the complaint that Hansen had to begin this often times has lead to TJS.
  9. Anyone figure out where you can update your user signature yet?
  10. You must be one of those dudes who just hates change in general.... or maybe you're a hoarder who is attached to "the good old days".... or perhaps you haven't yet figured out where the "green text" option is. ?
  11. Here's a slightly modified header layout that should be really easy for you guys to implement if it is decided to be desirable. Sent over the css properties to Heads already.
  12. Sweet, see the signatures are back... somehow, my image is 404ing... and I can't figure out where the area is now to change the sigs... ( hell, perhaps that's not even yet enabled ) ? If you could let me know where that is whenever you've got a minute... groovy. And no rush, yo!
  13. ( I also love that you can see user "warning points" ) It's been hysterical to read through some of those which chronicle the adventures in stupidity of "hi8is". My favorite mod comment being, ?
  14. Groovy, do you guys have a staging / production server environment going? Or rather is it that you've just got another instance of the same board software somewhere with no associated soxtalk database that you're using to do frontend / theme development and testing on before then copying the files manually over to this instance?
  15. Groovy - and yea, it looks 1000x better than Soxtalk v1. ( btw: It's Trevor, not Travis ) No worries thou, my own mother contemplated between those two choices for a year prior to my birth and it's a common mistake... oddly enough. Drop me a text man, I'll PM you my cell - we can figure out a time to meet up halfway for some grub and get to runnin. Cheers again and congrats on the update guys!
  16. They've gotta have an option to enable signatures... right? Hope you guys decide to enable that someday.
  17. Yea, the core technologies that IP uses have evolved so much in the last 10+ years... hell, back then jQuery wasn't a thing... CSS was just in it's infancy... there's so much more potential here it's absurd.
  18. Congrats Jason! Let me m kw when you’re ready for me to help out, I’d be happy to be involved with helping out in terms of the look and feel... frontend code and UI/UX stuff is one of my strengths. Fantastic first step thou and I know it came as a result of many hard hours of work. Thanks again for all you do!
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 09:02 PM) Most rebuilds (see Astros/Cubs/Royals) take at least 3 years and more often 4 or 5 years to pull off. We're just in year 2, and really only 1 1/2 years into the process. (Cubs and Astros have caused everyone to believe it's relatively easy to jump that timeframe making the playoffs up by a year or two, unfortunately.) This was always going to be the worst year. Realistically, the two most important players are doing fairly well (Moncada/Anderson) and Delmonico/Davidson/Sanchez are holding their own. We can be a BIT disappointed in Giolito's stuff (but look at the fact that he's pitched in terrible weather...if he hasn't improved by the end of May when he can get a much better grip on the ball, then we can bemoan it.) Lopez has been even better. Fulmer as expected after the brief blip to end last year. He ends up in the bullpen. The one possible trade chip that could have had some value was Avi, and he's definitely come out slow...but is that a total surprise with all the statistical warning signs/red flags from last year? Everyone else is basically going to be replaced. Maybe Bummer makes it, or Rondon. Nate Jones is undoubtedly trade bait with his injury history. Soria and Avilan will be recycled, if possible. +1 Exactly where I stand as well... I did go into this year with "low 70 wins rosy colored glasses" and now expect 56 wins. ( I'm sticking to that number because... Mark Buehrle. ) Either way, I've invested into the process here and don't really give a f*** if I'm watching historically bad baseball. My time is split between the few likely holdovers up in the show with us now and the minors. Live or Die, Go Sox!
  20. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 01:20 PM) Only other thing I wanted to bring up from the Kiley chat was him saying one team in the top 5 is seriously considering Bart. He'll probably mention it when they do the mock, but I just thought that should be brought up considering there is a 20% chance its us. Bart?
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 01:59 PM) Ricky loves the bunt. Wouldn?€™t be surprised if Garcia was bunting for a hit on his own there.
  22. 2 for 2 with 5 RBI and a walk. He sucks. ( whatd up ptatc! ) ????????
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 01:58 PM) It only gets more weird man! I am 27, still feel pretty young, and now like 50% of major leaguers are younger than me! Its crazy. Funny, I’ve always thought you where in your 50s. And yes, calling the players “kids” became a thing for me about 10 years ago.... now, as a 35 year old man - it’s appropriate. ????
