QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 12, 2018 -> 06:50 AM) He'll be in court Wednesday to face felony drug charges. [/url] Would it be a poor character choice to go and ask for an autograph through a bailiff? -

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Feb 12, 2018 -> 10:16 AM) Esteban Loaiza was signed by Prison. Terms of deal TBD. You'd think he'd post the 200k bail and duck out to somewhere without an extradition treaty. This is some crazy s*** for sure. -
I believe street price for 44 pounds would be roughly three quarters of a million bucks. Crazy s***... what a moron. Thanks for Jose Contreras.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Feb 11, 2018 -> 03:11 PM) I have a buddy who knows Jones really well. Let’s just say that at this point if the Sox get anything of value out of Jones, it wouldn’t only be a surprise to us and the Sox but to Jones as well Is this trying to say that Jones believes his career is over?

I question what our front office's evaluation of his character is.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 1, 2018 -> 07:38 AM) Spring Training can't get here soon enough. ?

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jan 31, 2018 -> 06:19 PM) He was the Phillies closer back in 2016. Wasn't he the Phillies closer for a while? Did he closer before? Philly perhaps? The crazy thing is that he's only 28 years old and had 37 saves for the Phillies two years ago. It is called "offseason" for a reason. I had to make an allusion to Philly just because so many others had consecutively... seemed like the thing to do.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 31, 2018 -> 09:15 AM) Lopez can be a solid #3 guy if he keeps working on it. . . . I don't believe that Rodon is long for the franchise. Between injuries and his representation, he may be playing somewhere else sooner than later. . . . Guys like Fulmer and Cease are set up to be relievers eventually, and Burdi, if and when he gets healthy from TJS, will be given every opportunity to be the closer. . . . The future rotation will probably be: (Ace traded for), Giolito, Kopech, Lopez, Hansen I have my doubts that the other SP prospects will stay with the organization except in a relief role. How cool and ironic would it be to sign Sale in 2020?

QUOTE (KnightsOnMintSt @ Jan 31, 2018 -> 08:58 AM) Just trying to get some conversation going. Obviously Reynaldo will be in the rotation for the 2018 season, but going forward with the rebuild, do people generally think he will stay a starter? Or is he destined for a closer role? The way I look at it is Rodon (assuming he stays healthy), Giolito, and Kopech are all locks for three spots, leaving two spots open. With the two spots, we currently have Lopez, Hansen, Cease, Dunning, Adams, Fulmer, Stephens, Guerrero. And that doesn't even include all the guys in our Top 30, or any free agent signings. So lets say 2019 and beyond, do we see Reynaldo Lopez as a starter, or do we see him in the bullpen? Ask me again in 12 to 18 months.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 29, 2018 -> 11:14 AM) Thank you guys for the kind words. CWS is right about my time being invested in business. I am professional services and have been working mostly 60+ hours week since Christmas and it will continue to be that way until the end of March. I have talked about this with SS2K with this in the past and feel the same way as he has posted above. It's such a tough industry. What I would love is to have a podcast or weekly radio show about the Sox that I could do April-September and then in December where I don't have to do any of the producing/editing/recording but it's obviously not easy to find such a scenario. Not only that, but these types of jobs/gigs are few and far between and all of the people hiring for these types of position have a background in journalism/broadcasting and hire people with backgrounds in journalism/broadcasting. Both of my degrees are business degrees. It's a lot of fun and I've met countless outstanding people through it all but it becomes harder to devote time to every month. Yes... "real life" can suck balls. ( says the single father raising a little almost 4 year old tiny heart holding bazooka. ) -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 27, 2018 -> 03:44 PM) The exact opposite market will happen next year and we'll be back to asking how on Earth Bryce Harper got $400 million from the Dodgers and Machado got $350 from the White Sox to play a kid's game. Those two are out of the aging veteran mold but yes, I agree that all of these story lines will die next year. -

QUOTE (Sockin @ Jan 27, 2018 -> 02:05 PM) Amid chill in free-agent market, #Dodgers' Kenley Jansen says: 'Maybe we have to go on strike' http://www.latimes.com/sports/mlb/la-sp-do...0127-story.html Oh STFU Kenley. -
QUOTE (wrathofhahn @ Jan 27, 2018 -> 01:31 PM) I want more certainty from Hahn. He talks about Yelich and Machado but the problem with that is the rebuild hasn't been completed. I want his assurance he will follow the season ender PC where he talked about 2020 being the target date. Last thing we need is to be back where started in no mans land because Hahn or more likely Kenny didn't have the stomach for a proper 2-3 year rebuild. What the bleep are you talking about?

Regarding Yelich.... Blake Rutherford has been working with him in a mentor / apprentice type of relationship. There's an article on The Athletic for those interested in reading more. -

QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Jan 25, 2018 -> 09:54 PM) Just in case this isn't being sarcastic, last year he slashed .238/.311/.367 with a K rate ~35% as a 22 year old in advanced A ball. I hadn't kept up with him is all... so wasn't aware he struggled. Bummer, hope he turns it around - seemed like a good kid. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 25, 2018 -> 09:20 PM) The White Sox would definitely have interest in Domingo Santana, as well as Keon Broxton, who has no place to play now unless someone gets injured, same with Phillips. Corey Ray would be another possibility, with his Chicago ties, along with Erceg. That's at least 5 players (I'm assuming we're not going to trade for MORE pitching). I think most of SoxTalk would be elated to acquire Keston Hiura for Abreu, although where he would play (DH/2B, possibly 3B or LF) is another question altogether. Lewis Brinson, OF XXX Brandon Woodruff, RHP Corbin Burnes, RHP Keston Hiura, 2B Monte Harrison, OF XXX Luis Ortiz, RHP Brett Phillips, OF Lucas Erceg, 3B Isan Diaz, 2B/SS XXX Corey Ray, OF BA Top 10 list for 2018 Pretty insane that Ray was their 10th best prospect... did he have a bad 2017 or something? -

Isn't the Giants farm pretty bottom of the barrel these days?
