  1. So long and thanks for all the fish.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 10:08 PM) Tyler Flowers finally put up some decent numbers with the Braves the last couple of seasons. Your sarcasm detector is obviously on the fritz.
  3. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 05:23 PM) Yeah, it's not like we've ever seen anyone with a low batting average, good eye, and good power succeed in MLB...oh, wait... And it’s not like he’s a finished product or anything. All hope is lost.
  4. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 17, 2018 -> 12:10 PM) I thought he was in charge for Fulmer. Even so, the track record is poor. I don't think that Collins has hit above .260 at any level. Actually I looked it up and his best season average wise was his draft year, which he hit .258 in Kanny. He hit .230 last year. I don't think he's a major league hitter if he can't crack .240 at A+ Your evaluations are far too early and shortsighted, IMO. Also, my preference is to focus on the upcoming draft for this thread. Regarding the above posted mock draft, that sure would be interesting if picks 1 through 3 all went for pitching... giving us free reign to select any bat of our choice.
  5. QUOTE (SonofaRoache @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 01:51 PM) Sale could have theoretically been traded for a different package as well. Ya don’t say!
  6. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 05:55 AM) Thanks but no problem. He/she couldn't defend his point so he resorted to name calling. It just bothers me when mods speak in ways in which they are here to oppose.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 05:13 PM) Not even close How I’ve never seen this before is just beyond me
  8. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 05:56 PM) Adolfo is a f***ing beast. He already has the body of an in their prime major league slugger. If he can keep the K rate down, he’s gonna be an absolute monster. We would all absolutely love watching Adolfo and Eloy manning 2/3rds of our outfield for 5+ years. Their personal history along with The Bess attitude in baseball... fun times to hope for.
  9. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 06:38 PM) Watching NBC-Chi on directv and it’s the Knights. Kopech started and went six giving up one run. Bullpen if Ross and Minaya give up six runs in the 7th and then Minaya gives up a homer in 8th and the SWB takes a 8-5 lead. Somethings never change Wow ???????????????
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 03:13 PM) It would be a help if you actually paid attention to reality. What’s that supposed to mean? His post was a grounded expression of an opinion. I guess you just wanted a reason to flex your all mighty esteem mod muscles. Feeling better now?
  11. QUOTE (Quin @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 09:11 PM) This is the greatest thread in SoxTalk history. It’s up there for sure but you missed some wild times back in 2003/2004/2005 ????
  12. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 01:25 AM) Honestly, I think he’s a little pull-happy and he’s pressing too hard....they probably feed off each other. One bright side of this weekend series possibly not happening is he can hopefully clear his head. +4
  13. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 09:28 PM) 6 years of championship White Sox baseball sounds great to me. Shoot high, aim low... that’s the saying... right?
  14. Couple of observations about Swaggerty: 1.) it looks like he’s been adding some loft to his swing path this year and it’s been working well for him. 2.) I absolutely love his balance and solid base at the plate 3.) He also looks susceptible to high heat and will need to learn to lay off that pitch Overall, with the little I’ve seen - I like. Low bust probability due to having many tools. Would be nice if he ended up being a lead off CF guy for 6 years of championship ball.
  15. QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 08:09 PM) Swaggerty had a pretty good day. Went 3-7 with 1BB 1K 1HBP 2HRs in two games of a doubleheader today. So should this thread just turn into the daily Bohm & Swaggerty roundup? Wow.
  16. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 08:23 PM) Sometimes I contradict myself-I said the following earlier this week in the gamethread when Fulmer started, preaching patience, which I lost yesterday. Here's a level-headed Jack Parkman. Again guys, I'm autistic, Sometimes I view things with rose colored glasses, sometimes I see the worst case scenario. I got frustrated yesterday and didn't follow my own advice, lol. Everyone can laugh at themselves every once in a while. Self reflection and ownership for the win! Mad respect your way Jack Parkman.
  17. Tell me when it’s the first of July.
  18. I love you. Will you have my babies?
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 11:08 PM) ...unless we start spending into the $150 million range.... We will - when the time is right. Muhahahahahahahahahaahhahaha. ( period added for emphasis, explanation point omitted purposefully - so as not to be annoying. )
  20. Man, I wish I could get there for this from Cali but the 4 year old mini-me isn’t gonna allow for it. Have an awesome time!
  21. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 01:21 PM) I'm not even specifically talking about Kopech and Eloy, but that will certainly help. To me, it's 100% irresponsible and irrational as a fan to judge this team on April 10 in 34 degree weather. Do I think this White Sox team is bad? Yes. Do I think their play is also being affected by the weather? Yes. I fully expect Moncada to develop over the year. Same for Nicky. Same for Tim. Same for Yolmer. Same for Giolito. Same for Lopez. I want to see what happens when Kopech and Eloy come up. I want to see what Rodon looks like when he's back. All those will keep me watching and as young players continue to develop and the weather heats up, I expect some better numbers and more enjoyable baseball. +1
  22. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 01:12 PM) Moncada looks amazing one game, awful the next. Yup... muy more work on the right side, obviously.
