QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:00 PM) Very satisfying win! You set a record dude. What's my next woman's name gonna be? -
Hi Ron, I regret opening this thread. Best Regards, -me

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:04 PM) The whole Robin is the one that has to fight for us in that department...that he (Ventura) was essentially "selling out" by backing ownership/marketing over the concerns of players that were clearly expressed on multiple occasions before that day? Curious the spin is defending Sale more than backing Ventura/Hahn. 1.) I don't see it as "spin" - just an article citing pretty damned objectively what Sale said in his recent interview. 2.) It is a managers job to put his players in the best position to win. I'd say that's a pretty universally accepted objective part of managing a pro sports team as well. 3.) According to Sale - he brought up this uniform issue to the team during offseason fitting - stating then that, "he wouldn't wear them on his day to pitch." He brought it up the day before the game... Then again before the game on the day of. I just see this as new information. 4.) In the end - he still said what he did was wrong... And it was. I'm in no way defending Sale's actions - they were absurd. At this point thou - it's time to just f***ing move on. Hopefully Sale can use this in that way as well. Move on ( like he claims to be seeking to ) and respond more maturely next time. Or, f*** it -- just hire Eclhart Tolle as an "Ego Consultant" for the entire team. There, that's the best solution possible.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:13 PM) Marlins have absolutely nothing to trade. Poop

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:14 PM) Cool then we'll keep Q and trade Sale. It really doesn't matter what you think because we don't have to trade them now. Ding ding ding.... Final round over. Judges score cards are and and the winner by unanimous decision is... ptatc.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:50 PM) Seeing as they have Bogaerts at short for a while and Pedroia locked up for the next 5 years at second, isn't this the type of deal you'd move Moncada in? To get a front of the rotation arm locked up for next 3+ years? They'll never find a better trade target than Sale.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:56 PM) Oh my god if we got Kolek for Gonzalez I'd never stop laughing. Right.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:54 PM) Shocked and happy they could win this game. At least they won't get swept. As far as the bullpen? Words fail me. Mark I really see it as another example of Robin / Cooper using the pen right. Leading with Albers in the 9th... First bad mark. Leaving Jennings in there to face Rizzo, second bad mark. That's just off the top of my head after casually watching the inning while driving home.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:53 PM) We don't really know that. They haven't committed to blowing it up. They're open minded and listening. That's all we know. What if they go 5-2 this week? They can easily change their mind and buy or stand pat. The record of this week shouldn't indicate their deadline approach. The offers they are presented with and the viability of converting on trade targets should. Period. End of story. ( for me at least )

I don't understand what the big fuss is about his statements. He took responsibility, said there was regret on his end, expressed no continued ill will, and still believes in his underlying concern.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:43 PM) If Sox win 2 or 3 against the Cubs and then win 2/3 against the Twins, does anyone here think they will sell? I honestly don't think they trade away anyone. They damn well should. Edit: They'd be just a couple games over .500 - likely about 7 out of first and have at least 6 teams in front of them in the wild card. Add to that fact, they'd have about 20 something games against central division teams who they are playing at a ~.200 clip against. Sell, sell, and sell.

I don't mind anything he said.
-
They don't have anything really on their farm. Not a single top 100 prospect. Kolek, who's still recovering from TJ is their number one rated guy... Followed by a 19 year old first round 2015 ( 12th overall ) firstbase left handed power bat. I'd gladly take either of them for Gonzo.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) God Red Sox fans are the worst. Urias starts the Sale package. De Leon, Bellinger and 3 more. Wonder if this Urias stuff was leaked by us to try getting Boston to move on Monacada?

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) Nightingale says the Marlins are at the game scouting Gonzo How's their farm, if I recall - it's s***. -
Silly RedSox fans...

QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) what you puts the odds on Q and/or Robertson being moved this week? thanks man as always! He and others have already stated: high. My guess is we go through a quiet period for a couple days here leading up to the deadline frenzy... Which the White Sox will be at the center of.

QUOTE (Sox Fan In Husker Land @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 11:54 AM) It's the Dodgers call. Do they want to win this year, and have another ace to go with Kershaw (who can opt out after 2018) for the future or do they try to hope to make the playoffs with their current rotation and hope Kershaw is able to pitch again this year? Here's a fun fact the Dodgers are 42-42 in games not started by Clayton Kershaw. They are 14-2 in Kershaw starts this year. They currently have a 2 game lead for the 1st WC, and a 2.5 game lead on the 2nd WC. Their current 4 man rotation is Maeda, McCarthy (coming off TJ surgery), Kazmir, and Norris. Urias, is back at AAA and on an innings limit. If they plan on making the postseason they need another quality starter point blank. Again looking at the free agent market available in the winter, there is nobody they can go out and buy remotely close to the caliber of Sale or Q for next year. If they want to win this year they better be prepared to dish out a lot of top prospects/young players for Sale or Q, and that includes Urias and De Leon. Exact-a-mundo

Horrible horrible read worth it for the laugh: http://nypost.com/2016/07/25/could-yankees...s-sale-pursuit/ Sale to the Yankees, with them taking Robertson in order to give up less prospects. Yea... Sure. Moron.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 09:08 AM) What an insane seller's market. And of course our major obvious tradable player completely s*** the bed right before the deadline. Irregardless of Robertsons statements - I blame Robin.
-
Also, we've heard this is a sellers market and all the trades so far have indicated that. Hope Hanh can extract maximum value on all fronts. It's time we clearly WIN a trade or three.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 25, 2016 -> 08:40 AM) And McKinney wow. And I saw Warren as a name going back to NY. I bet the Cubs plan on extending Chapman though. I really hope that once this Cubs deal is done we see some major action... Sadly thou, I feel it's going to be a week of pressing the refresh button. Sell, sell, sell, and then sell some more.
