  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 02:56 PM) Maybe he's healthy again? Those numbers sound like James Shields from 2-3 years ago. He's osculated between dog poop and respectability for us this year. I suspect more dog poop will be coming soon for good ol' Jamie boy.
  2. Wow, Shields giving up 3 hits and 3 walks... No homers at the Cell with 8 strike outs in 6 innings. Against Cleveland too.
  3. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 12:21 PM) ...Just another example of the vagaries of umpiring and why I take pitch framing stats lightly. +1

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 01:02 PM) Yeah, S1 was a real kick in the nuts. Compelling, but in the end, they led us down 5 or 6 different paths that led to nothing and never mattered. I think I watched S2 just to find out what happened, but then I stopped and have no interest in ever going back. Holy cow were you right! What a nightmare S2 was. One of the worst I've ever seen. Your description was dead on!

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) This is going to sounds really strange to you older people or those married or in a relationship. But until I started to see the girl I am with now, I had a lot of trouble watching TV shows because I was pretty much constantly talking to multiple girls at once through multiple dating apps/snapchat/text. And when I wasn't talking to one, I was on those apps looking for another to talk to. It was kind of an addiction and it would take me 2 hours+ to watch a regular show because I was constantly pausing or rewinding. Now that I am dating one of them, I deleted all those apps and am on my phone way less. lol. It sounds really dumb, but I had to reply to them as soon as I got a message. Not strange at all. Sounds like a watered down version of when I've been off on my escapades. Even thou I'm not dating and am single again - all that seeking crap is by the wayside. When I'm ready for another 'her' -- she'll show up. Cheers and congrats. Water that plant.

Well that sucks to read - it seemed to have a lot of promise even with some plot holes and poorly acted scenes. Guess it gets worse and not better. Bastards. If only every show was Breaking-Bad-Like.

The Killing Netflix original started in 2011. Just watched season 1 and it's very very compelling stuff. At some various brief points there's some poorly said lines but it's not too noticeable. Everytime I think the plot is clear, there's another twist. Good stuff... Highly recommend.
  8. They should poop but they will wipe.
  9. QUOTE (sammy esposito @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 08:20 PM) Fullmer has been working as a reliever you just don't start throwing 6 innings instead of one. I really think he should work on his delivery. He's been starting in Charlotte
  10. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 04:21 PM) I don't care if it's the 9 spot up in the order any major league player non-white sox player can hit a fly ball. Fixed in reference to getting a sac fly executed.
  11. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) Just saw the play. Dearlord Avi played that terribly. Any 9 year + old little league player could have done better.
  12. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 12:58 PM) Tigers announcer saying the same thing. One of the worst throws I've seen.
  13. Dude! What kind of throw was that!!!!???!!????????
  14. QUOTE (captain54 @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 10:26 PM) The Internet also is an easy place to speak one's mind, call out other posters, question their fandom, and not have to deal with the consequences of a face to face confrontation Also, interesting side note: funny that mobile devices seem to auto correct Internet to be capitalized now. Haha
  15. Really curious to see what numbers Fulmer was poping on his pitches.
  16. QUOTE (CregerMax @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 07:25 PM) Worst case scenario a power closer or a top of rotation starter! That sounds good either way! Nice commentary on the article... I will add this: the worst case for any pitching prospect is their arm falls off.
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 09:47 PM) I expect the Dodgers to pull him back and make him available again this winter. A trade for Puig and sign Cespedes will get me all hyped lol. Although, I'd rather see a rebuild. Either direction we go - I'm very interested to see what they put together. No matter what I'll always follow the Sox and be a die hard fan.... So it'll be easy for me to eat up whatever they decide to do. I'm with you thou - I'd much rather enjoy supporting the team though a 3 year plus rebuild. Even if it means a couple 100 loss seasons. That sure would make draft day fun.
  18. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) Baiting is ok, but not retaliating. Got it Look over the thread... All I said to the guy was related to the prospect we acquired: "94-95 on the fastball. Try again." Quoting an article from the main white sox site. I'm a scarcastic poster but never do I intend to "bait" anyone. It's also irresponsible to blame any other poster for your own personal conduct. In between various stupid banter from me... He said I was a f***ing idiot, made inference to Soxtalk posters as "uninformed meatheads", and called out the fact that I'm going through a divorce as "poor scouting" with a cold and condemning tone. He claimed I was "one upping him" while randomly pointing out he had a World Series ring, was a pro scout, had a wife, and continued to attack while stating that he was "done with this site." Before leaving, he also had to begin attacking another poster by saying they were "f***ing pathetic." Numerous times I tried to stop the engagement by plainly stating, "have a good night." Refusing to defend myself against his attacks with anything other than wit and being light about the matter - nor stoop to his level. After about 5 attempts I put him on ignore proactively rather than waiting for him to leave. The entire thing was probably the most agregious example of utter stupidity that I've seen here in over 12 years. Lesson learned for me... Put people like that on ignore faster. The guy was obviously having a bad day and was looking to obtain something at the expense of others. The Internet can be an easy place to receive a false sense of esteem in very lowly avenues. I'm personally glad that this place doesn't stand for that but has the balance in place to allow for posters to express their personality within very open confines. The rules here are very liberal and very clearly defined. Even offenders are offered great leniency. I've probably been suspended 5 or 6 times. Bottom line: Soxtalk rules.
  19. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 06:53 PM) So what you're saying is Sale and Quintana should net a whole playoff team and a few top prospects. Good point. When comparing the value of half a year of Price / Cespedes/ Soria... To Sale and Q... Our two offerings are light years better.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 05:00 PM) Twitter speculation is Boston claimed him Uh. I'd be shocked if he made it that far though!
  21. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) As someone who owns Fulmer on most of my fantasy teams (I know no one cares), I find it hard to see ROY go to anyone else. This guy has been nails. Thread hijack, it pisses me off seeing how well the Tigers did at the last deadline when they actually sold off on their assets. Something KW will never do. Tigers traded Cespedes, Price and Soria. They got Fulmer, Norris, Boyd, Jairo Labourt, Luis Cessa and Jacoby Jones. That's 3/5 of their rotation, a top ten prospect, a top twenty prospect and a prospect who has traded for Justin Wilson. That's for three expiring contracts (albeit three good ones). Jebus
  22. Fraizer sure was an offensive black hole tonight. 0 - 4 with 6 LOB!!
  23. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 08:32 PM) Sox have now blown and lost 11 games where they had a lead in the 7th inning or later. Jones now has nine blown saves, three losses and has had a direct hand in six of those 11 blown games. He needs to be moved out of the late inning role next year perhaps to the 6th or 7th inning if the Sox revamp their bullpen. Meanwhile its just another divisional loss, one of many this year and many more to come in the final month. Mark Always love your stats man. Good on ya.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 01:55 PM) Christopher Kamka ‏@ckamka 8m8 minutes ago Tim Anderson last 20 games: .338/.373/.545, 16 Runs, 6 Doubles, 2 Triples, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 3 SB #WhiteSox I had hopes for Anderson but never expected him to do as well as he has. His minor league career showed he had a knack for making adjustments and boy has that trend continued here in The Show. Can't think of the last time someone came up so your my for us and has thrived with making adjustments so well. Beckham did great his first year or so but never could turn things around. Who's the last position player you can recall who has done well like this?
  25. This is good to see. You know it's bad when I of all people am trying to calm things down. Usually there's a mob coming after me with pitch forks for saying poop and blah too often... But it has indeed been on an entirely different level of awful lately. The ignore feature really works and I'll be quicker to use it in the future... However, surely this will get things back on track and ward off some of the more agregious offenders. Good on ya, chisoxfn.
