Rumors that Cespedes is opting out
QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Oct 9, 2016 -> 09:20 PM) I expect Frazier to be in a different uniform on Opening Day 2017. If so then you should also expect to see Sale, Q, Abreu, and Eaton in a different uniform as well. No reason to sell off a low salary high power infielder unless you're going full rebuild. I'd find it more likely that Frazier gets extended than sold in the offseason.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Oct 8, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) What happens in December? Will Southsider then be able to accept being corrected without accusing others of having "an attitude"? Winter meetings, yo.

Who stay...who goes???
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) If the Sox could pry Benintendi and Moncada I'd do that asap. Just those 2, no one else is necessary. For anyone other than Sale - hell yes... But Sale... For those two alone? I'm not so sure.

Wild Card Games Thread
I've never seen Conor that stoked. Awesome. I'd say Goants and White Sox fans are the only people in the world who were stoked on that smash.

Who stay...who goes???
QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Oct 4, 2016 -> 09:01 PM) I agree, I think a rebuild is coming. After hoping for it for so long and being let down repeatedly, it's kinda like the new TOOL album: I'll believe it when I see it.

Renteria to Replace Ventura
QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 01:17 PM) Yeah, Chris is a fine clubhouse guy until his sensibilities are offended, and then he throws a temper-tantrum and embarrasses the organization. If he weren't exceptionally good at what he does, he would've been shown the door earlier this year. I've heard from a very reliable source that Sale is not that great of a guy, in more ways than one.

Renteria to Replace Ventura
QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 09:48 AM) ... I don't see the downside in waiting until July instead of January to sell off and rebuild. People have been saying that since 2013... Almost like clockwork. Then, in July... It's, "we can wait until the offseason to sell." That cycle needs to just stop with some definitive action... Finally.

Renteria to Replace Ventura
QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 09:34 AM) Hahn says that they absolutely under achieved this year. They dont think there is a problem with this team. They're so much double speak and bulls*** flying. For all we know, reports of JR wanting to "win now" and reports of us wanting to buy could all be BS meant to drive up the value of our trade assets. They're not going to just come out and say, "We sucked. We need to fill holes at catcher, DH, Centerfield, and about half of our bullpen... as a start. We're in desperate need here." Who knows what the f*** they're doing. Kenny should be gone. Bastards.

QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 10:04 PM) In a trade of contracts, Robertson to Colorado for CarGo. Good luck with that. ?

Do something different. It's too early for me to come up with something comprehensive. For now all I can say definitively is: Something different.

Kenny Williams Leaving?
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 02:10 PM) Sigh, I wanted to believe so much. I don't understand how Kenny isn't canned. They've seen the results of the two of these guys butting heads for at least 2 years now. What. The. f***.

White Sox Acquire James Shields
Report just out that the Commissioner offered Boston the option to undo their trade with San Diego in August. Wonder why the same opportunity wasn't afforded to the White Sox regarding Shields.

My way too early off season plan
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) With a herniated disk in his back Saladino might be through as a player, you just don't know how those will respond even with surgery. Mark Depends on the severity and location, of course. Has it been announced that he's having surgery?

My way too early off season plan
My offseason plan: who cares. There's no hope for next year unless a miracle happens. Many miracles, actually.

Renteria to Replace Ventura
QUOTE (Scoots @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 09:43 AM) From a CSN Chicago article: http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-white-so...il-after-season Todd Frazier: "I love Robin, love him to death. He's a good manager, for sure." James Shields: "He's one of the better managers I've been around, and I've been around some really good ones...Robin is a good man, a good manager. He's really good with the players, and if he does step down, he's going to be sadly missed for sure." This coming from 2 players who have been in the league for a long time. Robin isn't horrible like most people think he is. Sure, he has made some poor decisions. Who doesn't? No manager is perfect, plus what do you expect from a guy who has never managed in the past? I think one of the most important qualities of a manager (after his ability to actually manage games) is his likeability among players. A manager who isn't likeable creates tension and ruins chemisty in the clubhouse. Robin is the exact opposite of that. He brings players together and keeps a good atmosphere. He isn't as bad as people think. Everyone who knows the man respects him. I haven't heard one gripe about him, ever, EXCEPT from the one group of people who have never had even one conversation with the man...the fanbase. He's far too passive for management. Look at the absurd stuff that has happened out of that club house - no competent manager would have allowed for such sideshows. That's just one gripe. It's beyond time for him to go and it's also beyond time that KW goes with him.
