QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 06:26 PM) Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN 1m1 minute ago Rival evaluators trying to ascertain exactly how much the Rangers value Joey Gallo. Some sense a smokescreen, and think they'd move him. Q or Abreu for Gallo+ I would pass on both, personally. Don't like Gallo's high K rate.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 06:18 PM) I think they deal Sale this offseason unless they're blown away before the deadline. I can see Frazier, Melky, Q, Robertson at least. Regarding 2018 / 2019... If they sell Q - they sell Sale as well... Be it this offseason like you mention or not. If you keep Sale - keep Q as well. Keeping one or the other would be more of this half assed rebuilding/retooling s***. Pick a direction and go that way.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 06:09 PM) I would do Q for Seager straight up. However I would imagine something like Joc, Bellinger and Holmes Get all 4 plus Urias and DeLeon for Sale.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 05:25 PM) I will blame Jerry to the extent he employs Hahn and Williams. As Blacksox pointed out, Vogelbach is someone you could call-up this year, and for sure at least in September. He's not some prospect 3 years away. He fits with the Win-now mode. But Williams/hahn are just wed to their "proven veteran"theory, no matter how many of the veterans under-perform once they get here (and a lot of that is because they were already in decline). Re: Vogelbach.... He just went to Seattle. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/07/cubs...p;post-id=67367

QUOTE (Policiious @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) 1) Saladino will not be a starter for this team and I get it that you need quality backups but Hill is a pitcher that could be signed for a 2 year deal at a reasonable price. He's 36 and having a heck of a year (9-3 2.25 era) 2nd lowest ERA in the AL for a starter with 14 or more starts. a 9-3 record on a team that is 10 games or more below .500 is a heck of an accomplishment. Rodon does not seem to be ML material to me, just an opinion. If they could get Hill for Garcia and Saladino, what would your thoughts be? I want to add an arm to the rotation before trading Quintana. The team does not score enough and the only way they are going to get decent position players with quality bats is by parting with a top line starter (Quintana). I believe Hill can be persuaded to sign a 2 year deal at this age and at a reasonable $12-$15M salary. Remember the Sox are cutting off alot of payroll after this year with Latos, danks, rolllins, possibly Morneau and of course no more buyout for the ex starting SS of $1M and the ex DH who retired at the start of this season who could not hit, another $13M savings. That's a total of $35M in total lost payroll, which leaves them with alot of $ to sign talent if there is a fit. Yep Braun is on the wrong side of 30 but still a heck of a player, add LuCroy, him and Hill and IMO the lineup is much better, they are better defensively and the rotation is still solid 1.) you have a lot to learn 2.) bye bye

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) Total of 8 once again. I don't see us scoring many against Felix. 2 dimes again on the under to make an easy 5k off the series. Wish the books gave us more gifts like this.....I'd quit my day job. Inform my ignorance please... What does "2 dimes" equate to in non-badass-slang-lingo? -
Hernandez has to be royally pissed - as well as all Seattle fans.

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 12:43 PM) I said the exact thing earlier. They can't say they're still competing this season and throw Turner out there to be devoured by a divisional foe. Basically conceding the game. For the second time in a week??? Ok, f*** it - I'm on board. Fire Hanh, fire KW, fire Robin, and fire Steverson.

QUOTE (Policiious @ Jul 20, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) Thoughts? 1.) Welcome aboard!!! 2.) Your ideas are about the worst proposals I've ever seen since posting here in 2003. Rodon, Saladino, and Garcia... For a rental of Rich Hill?? What??????? The number three draft pick in the country two years ago, a positive WAR utility player, and a league average young guy with potential unrealized talent... For two months of a reinvented pitcher coming off an injury? Dude. 3.) Please stay and keep posting.

Wow - early odd start for a west coast game... Even a Wednesday. Was t aware, thanks to you TheTruth05 and you as well SoxTalk. Go SOX!!

"Well, I don't have to throw water bottles, smash coolers in the hallway, or flip tables tonight. 6 runs - that's what I'm talking about. It's not just the win that's important here boys - it's the fight. The fact that you battled back. That's what's important. You followed a gutless night with this and I'm content. This isn't over as you all very well f***ing know." Walks over to Robinson's locker. Puts hand on shoulder. "Tonight was some redemption... Redemption from last night. Tomorrow, start to redeem this season. Go on a run for the history books. No more one day at a time even keel s*** guys. Win a bunch of f***ing games and run your way back into this race. Get our lead back. This thing was ours and you all want it back. So go get it back." Takes cup out. Throws it in the trash. Walks to the locker room door, turns and says, "what?" "Now put on some f***ing Michael Jackson grooves and get ready to streak your way into October."

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 11:18 PM) how long before ya'll find something else to do besides watch a s***ty baseball team? seriously, i'm trying to help you guys. lol there's no point in watching a team that's bad, and puts you in a terrible mood for the next 24 hours. I stopped watching much of the past week... And hoenstly, it's been the most productive week all year.

"Alright. f***!" Flip table and kick over a cooler. Seethe for a few brief moments with teeth grit, breath held, and face red. "f***!!!" Walk over to the cooler, pick it up, and throw it outside the clubhouse into the tunnel under Safeco. "First off - Saler, I'll never take your destiny out of your own hands again. I failed you. You pitched another gem and I robbed you of this win. But come on guys. We've been playing like A ball players lately. Fraizer, you've been looking embarrising up there - throwing bats beyond third base, losing your helmet on swings at crap in the dirt. Stop pressing and just let it go man. All of you, 1 through 9... Let it go! Relax. You're all wound up tight and you're pressing. Let me be tight. Let me be the one who loses his cool." Take off jersey and put it in the trash. "We've got a Rook here in Anderson who's playing with the most comfort at the plate. D-Rob, Carson Fulmer looked more composed and in control against Albert f***ing Pujos... In his first major league appearance! If you miss your spots like this again and piss the bed one more time - you're sitting for a week with spot relief stints in the 7th God damned inning." Go grab a few water bottles and throw them each in different directions at the walls. "You all are playing major league f***ing baseball and there's no damned fire! You all have the talent that hardly any men on this f***ing earth posses but you're trying so damned hard that your all getting yourself out. Jose, every time you're at the plate from now on - just imagine yourself in Havana on an empty field taking cuts in the sun man. All of you - stop trying and just f***ing DO. Find that effortless place you all have called 'instinct' and LIVE there on my f***ing field." Take hat off and let shoulders drop. "If you're all going to prove anything - prove to yourselves you're great. Show yourself you're ball players. That this game is in your blood. No drills tomorrow. No cages. Just get lose and stretch out. Then get on the f***ing field when it's god damned game time and BE WHO YOU ARE. Because you're not this. You're all better than this. I know it." Walk out of the room and on the way out as the doors closing, "NOW SHOW YOURSELF THAT YOU KNOW IT TOO!" Go to hotel room, grab cell phone, and have a drink. Send wife one text, "I'll be home for good soon, honey. Going to bed. Love you and the kids."

QUOTE (captain54 @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) 1) It's a long season, there's a lot of baseball left to play 2) Anyone that wants to give up on a .500 baseball team a few games out of the WC is foolish 3) That's baseball. you win some, you lose some 4) Go get em tomorrow, we can still win the series There's a few more I may have missed. someone? anyone? 5) Use your eyes and it's easy to see this team is s***.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 18, 2016 -> 10:28 PM) I thought Sale did not look sharp in the 8th He gets 3 outs without giving up 3 or 4 f***ing runs, that's for damn sure.
