July 1st, 2016 - Chicago White Sox vs. Huston Astros - 7:10

I'm assuming SCCWS's brain is powerful enough to read either version, so let's quit the spelling nonsense and focus on this: GO SOX! -

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 12:04 PM) Or take spelling 101 Frogetntig taht sepllnig inst ipmrotnat, you are - syas ydoa. -
A battle of two hopeful teams starts today in a pivotal series. Both are on the outside of a wild card spot and both seem to be on the rise after being in a rut. The Sox have begun to recover after a horrid stretch, winning their last three consecutive series. We sit 2.5 games away from a wild card spot. The Huston Astros on the other hand have gone 40 and 20 since May 1st. They currently sit a half a game from a wild card spot. In the White corner, likely hailing from somewhere south of the equator, we have Miguel "The Rat Dog" Gonzalez. Sporting an intimidating set of sideburns and facial scruff - this man on a mission has been brilliant and then f***ing awful in his last two starts. The offense supporting him looks to heat up as summer temperatures continue rising. Things are clicking and aside from an injury to recent call up Matt Davidson, every man 1 through 9 believes they can mash today. Spark plug Adam Eaton has recently revealed this game will be dedicated to the injured Davidson and in homage to him, every batter will either strike out or hit a home run. In the Ugly Ass Uniform corner, hailing from a brew house in Milwaukee is some poor asshole who's mainly know for hitting Stanton in the face. A team comprised of a perennial league leader in hitting, a left handed masher, a young power hitting egotistical prick, and the Alex Rodriguez of the current generation - these guys got everything necessary to bust-a-move. Will the White Sox turn their season south and smack the moon men with a 55 pound slab of raw brisket? Will The Rat Dog throw a gem or give up 16 hits? Will Tim Anderson fly into the air revealing himself as the real life Superman? Will it ever stop? Yo, I don't know - turn off the lights, and I glow. To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal... Blah blah blah... Something about a candle.... Blah blah blah... WICKED! hi8is take away - the white sox will win as this will be the third game they win and will signal their eventual record of 28 - 5 in their next 33 games. If this does not happen exactly as I foretold - then I will make a video of myself eating a 1,000 year old egg. Stop, hammer time.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 05:34 PM) It's from spending too much time listening to the song from Silversun Pickups. I never emphatically yelled "YES" more vocally or repeatedly than the time Silverbum pickups exited the stage. They were playing a festival and were slotted right before TOOL. It was an embasasment to everyone's ears.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) Who are you to say what the Sox need to do ? You can't even wake up on time to do your game thread duties. You'd be working on your 3rd one for tomorrow if you were not stoned on melatonin. Slacker ! Just stating an observation - like you.

Huston is 9 and 1 in their last 10 and has been turning it around for about a month +. The Sox can't seem to get back to consistent winning ways but may have turned the corner, winning their last three series and going 7 - 3 in their last 10. We'll have an inconsistent Gonzalez going in front of our 1 / 2 punch of Sale / Q. With Huston 2 games ahead of us in the wild card and only a half a game out from the top spot - an unlikely sweep would be just about as big as any three game set we've had this far during 2016. Anything less than a series win is a big fail. We gotta right the ship for the rest of the year --- and it starts with this upcoming series.

For the first time in 12 years, here's a hi8is started game thread. I can't sleep, clowns will eat me. In the White corner... Hailing from Newhall California, a battered and bruised ill advised trade acquisition seeking a redemptive start to begin undoing heaps of chunk filled vomit that has been flung all about the baseball world at historic levels. Supporting his quest, a putrid offensive attack who's main contribution as of late has come from a rookie with like 28 games of AAA experience. If this band of brothers hits 7 home runs in a single game - have no fear, they still may lose. In the Twinkie corner... Coming from Who the f*** Knows and Who the f*** Cares is Ricky "the b**** boy" Nolasco. Last minute scouting reports break astounding news that this right handed hack job hasn't been able to find his dental retainer for the past 4 days and is now PISSED OFF. His ERA+ and WHIP add up to the amount of women I've slept with if you move a decimal point over a couple spaces to the right. As such, logic blaintently tells us he is likely to throw a 2 hit complete game shutout against the Sox. Leading the little toothed fish stick attack is someone not named Joe. hi8is take away point: bet the house on a called strike in the 3rd inning on Shield's 97th pitch of the night. It will be a ball, low and away - however the umpire will be too busy smelling his hand after checking himself for skid marks and will as such - make a bad call. In all seriousness, I hope this is the start of a 11 game winning streak so I'll have 10 more chances to top this entirely retarded stroke of juxtaposited genius. Gold I tell you... Gold.

Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays 6/26/2016

QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) Another great job by the ACE of our staff. Nice time for Twins to come to town. We need the rest of the rotation to dominate the Twins while St L. wipes out the Royals. We need to get back to at least 2nd place by the break. Indians are disappearing over the horizon. KC also closes out the first half against Seattle.... If we can sweep Atlanta - we're making up ground no matter what in one race. With Cleveland, it's going to come down to the 10 remaining games we have against them. We've got to beat the pants off them ( for once ) if we are to win this thing. Balls still in our court - please stop s***ting the bed White Sox. -
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 01:48 PM) seems like they hit bottom and are starting to get back on track. Nice to see the fight. Gotta see how they preform against the central next time thru.

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 12:37 PM) Ranaudo 5 IP, 1 ER, 5 H, 3 K, 2 BB. ERA in AAA down to 2.22. Sands has two HR's. Gotta imagine that if Shields s***s the bed again tomorrow that Ranaudo gets a start next week.
