8/25 Gm. 1 - SOX vs./@ BAL, 5:05 CT, CSN
QUOTE (Cowch @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 08:00 PM) Yuck. I hate to be so similar to Baltimore. I can't believe Vazquez has the same ERA as that guy. that guy is going to be a really good pitcher for a long time.

Frank Thomas Statue
QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 10:13 PM) I was never a fan of his attitude. I always thought of him as more a "me" player. he used to have fans line up for autographs before and after games here in LA. he'd sign for an hour or more regularly. thats pretty selfless if you ask me. =) he was that way for the 10 years i saw him. one time i saw him give someone a pair of his game used cleats. class act frank is. class act.

That should be annoying for them. It's silly because I am calling people out and holding them accountable for their comments? Don't get me wrong, I am not saying Gavin will get Cy Young consideration or even get 10 wins this year. What I am saying, is you have to admit the kid does have good stuff and he does have talent. Half of this board didn't think that this year, which completely blew me away as I thought it was blatantly obvious what a great arm the kid has. Getting our friends on SoxTalk to admit they are wrong is like pulling teeth I know, so perhaps we should just blow up this thread? To me it's a good thing when you step forward and admit you're wrong otherwise you're no better than Mariotti who says whatever he wants with no recourse or accountability whatsoever. SILLY!!!! silly??? Silly!

The OFFICIAL "I was wrong about Joe Crede" thread
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 05:46 AM) Whats funny about this post is back in 2005, you were suspended for specially saying Crede being hurt is a good thing. Just thought I would point that out. Continue. I think this video sums up my sentiment in a positive and appropriate fashion: Come on guys... join in the fun - sing along!

The OFFICIAL "I was wrong about Joe Crede" thread
QUOTE (sox-r-us @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 07:24 AM) You must be confusing me with someone else because I do not remember ever saying something like that. I'd speak my mind on the subject but in doing so would risk getting suspended myself. This boards a totalitarian system in a lot of ways. I wouldn't be surprised if I get suspended for saying that. The politics of internet message boards. The pecking order. Oh joy. =P Isn't all this important! LOL The important thing is this... Joe Crede is doing great and it's fantastic. Past comments aside, past actions aside... in this present moment, Joe is helping us win games with his clutch hitting, defense, and intense play.

The 2008 Ozzie Thread
From a Chicago Tribune Article following Guillen's suspension today... "Guillen said he has $100,000 set aside to cover his fines over the season."

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 08:50 PM) I have tried to cancel (it auto renewed) and after waiting on hold someone finally picks up and says I'll get a call back...nothing. Same for me. I think its protocol in an attempt to give people time to change their mind and encourage laziness.

" Joe Mauer - secretly a Chicago White Sox Fan - pops a boner while seeing Joe Crede's towering grand slam fly out of the park." I win. Period.

still not able to watch games - anyone else having an error message today too - this is the error: " we are currently preforming maintenance operations. during this time, sections of the site will not be available. we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause." same thing ive been getting since day 2 of the season.

Carlos Quentin
QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 04:34 PM) very true hi8us....however i believe there is a difference with Carlos....mainly much of the hype surrounding this guy isnt from a message board, or even from the upper management in the front office like many sox prospects...the hype from quentin came nationally from baseball america, BP and others...not to mention unlike our top prospects who have all had issues with stirke zone judgement, quentin excelled at....and alot of sabrmetricians (and even regular scouts for that matter) agree that ability to command the strike zone in the minors is the best indicator of future major league success...so while anderson was our #1 pick who we all heard alot about, quentin is a totally different animal...anderson was a "tools" guy, while quentin had the stats and tools i was just pretty much saying that reading the hype and seeing him play these last few games has been two entirely different things. =) good observations thou! =)

Carlos Quentin
he's one of the only sox on the roster that im extreemly interested in, if only for the fact that i know very little about him i got the basics down, safe bet to translate to a solid everyday pro productive minor league numbers top draft pick yada yada yada but as you guys know, its much different reading about someone and seeing them do their thing this kids has excited me. i wanna see him play until he faulters, and im not sure if he will.
