  1. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 01:39 AM) MLB the Show and Uncharted disagree, my friend. Also, I'm enjoying the crap out of Gran Turismo, holy s*** is this good. Yeah, I covet MLB the Show and I kick myself in the ass for buying a stand-alone Blu-Ray player last year and not coughing up the extra $100 for a PS3 last year. I had the money, too. I deserve to be mocked for this dumbass decision.
  2. Yeah, on the game selection, neither console really has anything going and I think really they are just trying to milk the same cash cow Nintendo was pulling from. Which is fine, but I mean they *did* actually update the technology and it looks like they both have a lot of potential. But to do what exactly? I really want to see a franchise MLB or NBA game for the 360 or the PS3 (nothing really precludes me from buying a PS3, it's just there's nothing on there that I want to do that I can't do on the 360). Nobody's really tried that yet and especially for the Wii, it seems like they just kind of arbitrarily make note of it in the controls to acknowledge that it's there, but it doesn't do anything.
  3. Speaking bluntly, when I originally read Bobby Jenks's comments this morning (before the Oney bulls***) I was thinking "geez I had no idea this whole time that Bobby was such a f***ing vagina. Does Bobby not see who had his back that whole time? There were times when Ozzie was the only thing protecting him from the media and a mob of angry fans." Before I really could finish that thought I saw Oney's stream of bulls*** and somehow, he made Bobby look like a victim instead of a p****, like he should have. Oney is such a f***ing tool... he actually manages to outdo himself, I didn't know this was even possible.
  4. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 28, 2010 -> 05:56 AM) So what game are people most lookin forward to in 2011? Mass Effect 3 for me personally. this.
  5. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Dec 27, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) Well thank god we don't need those F-22s anymore. Our secrets are helping fuel the Chinese military machine. This is kinda common knowledge within the government and national security buffs. Really if I went into further detail it's kinda depressing.
  6. I know this is a pretty PS3-heavy board but is anyone here going to mess with the Kinect? Or the PS Move, for that matter? Motion sensing is pretty much a gimmick and the Wii has peaked, now it's up to somebody to actually get the ball rolling again
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 27, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) Pete Prisco wrote a really scathing article about Singletary last night, saying players have told him he is as unprepared as any coach they have ever played for on any level, including high school, and that his game plans were extraordinarily simple and naive. He simply didn't have the understanding of the intricacies of an offense or defense in today's NFL to be a head coach. I was pretty surprised, as I would have thought Singletary would have been a very good student of the game. http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6315047/26671582
  8. Wrote this on Facebook after reading too many meathead comments this morning: I don't get Bears fans sometimes. Mike Singletary was a flaming, miserable failure as a HC, the only thing he knew how to do was yell, but he otherwise didn't know what he was doing, and unless it's as a LB coach I don't want Halas Hall touching him with a 10 foot pole. And don't say he needed help on offense or handling his QBs... he fired the guy that knew how to do that (Mike Martz) so he doesn't get that excuse
  9. Harris is overall much better than the trash we've tried out at S but he's still mediocre in coverage. It helps that D. Manning has stepped up so much this year.
  10. Jets burned all 3 timeouts, if they can convert this 3rd and 9 the game is over.
  11. Really needed the offense to burn at least 90 seconds and they used almost none. Really need this raggedy defense to come through.
  12. My wife replaced the Xbox 360 she broke and bought me an Elite. Yay. I was getting sad as hell without it.
  13. Good, somewhere I can post this again. ‎'Twas the night before Christmas When all through the house Everyone felt s***ty, Even the mouse. ...With mom at the whorehouse And Dad smoking grass I had just settled down For a nice piece of ass. When out on the lawn There arose such a clatter I sprang to my piece To see what was the matter. Then out on the lawn I saw a big dick And I knew in a moment It must be St. Nick. He came down the chimney Like a bat out of hell And I knew in a moment That the f***er had fell. He filled all our stockings With pretzels and beer And a big rubber dick For my brother the queer. He shot up the chimney With a thunderous fart The son of a b**** Blew my chimney apart! He swore and he cursed As he rode out of sight Piss on you all, And have a hell of a night!
  14. Quit drinking so much, it's bad for you.
  15. I'm not sure what my property taxes are but they aren't as high as anyone in Illinois. My income taxes suck ass.
  16. Kinda been a while since I last posted in this thread.
  17. I missed that whole debate, that was good (Y2HH spent a prolonged amount of time making a lot of sense and making me agree with him, I knew he could do it!). SS *is* an insurance system even though it's not really called that every day or thought of it that way. When people save for retirement they might do the best they can while they work, but they have no idea how long they're going to live, and people would outlive their savings like they used to do before SS. It has nothing to do with being stupid or making bad investments, it's just something you can't really predict. The only way to make it work is to have everyone participate or else you start having self-selection problems, only the people that need it would use it, and it'd fall apart. The same as any insurance system, really. If you only have people buying auto insurance who are prone to getting into accidents, and know they are, while everybody else chooses to not have insurance, the company is either not going to be able to make its payouts, or it's going to be prohibitively expensive.
  18. btw while the scores were messed up it told me the final score of the Bulls-Wizards game was 68-67.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 22, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) The whole "No 2011-2012 season" might complicate that too. Like I said before, and I forgot what your reply said, but "lockout" doesn't automatically mean "missing games"
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 17, 2010 -> 11:27 AM) Actually...i switched to Geico a few years ago and have been extremely happy with them. Only had to use them twice and never any hassles. I even have a good friend who works at Liberty Mutual and even with all of the discounts and "deals" he gave me it didn't match my Geico rate. When I was 19 and got my first car, I was buying my own insurance and Geico quoted me $3000 for a 6-month premium. Everybody tries to rape you at that age, but that was a special kind of rape that would've been almost double my actual car payment. So I've pretty much ignored them forever since then.
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Dec 16, 2010 -> 11:05 PM) Well I have learned from Microsoft that the "cloud" is some sort of magical photo service from the interwebs. That is not at the level of hate that I had for the stupid "Windows 7' was my idea. Windows 7 isn't half bad, but that commercial made me want to nix it. Apple's commercials from a couple years ago with that dude vs. the "PC" dude had this effect on me. f***ing smarmy bulls*** just like the Apple fanboy drones that pollute random discussion boards on the net. Ugh get off my TV with that.
  22. 15 years ago the Patriots were nobodies, and the bandwagon didn't really get off to the races until about 2002 or so. They had to have been the 4th most popular team before the Super Bowl in '01. Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, then Patriots.
  23. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 22, 2010 -> 02:03 PM) And they realize they can go into regular bars, right? Sure, you can go into them, but should you? If this is the case, why can't I create a "White bar" for white people who want to hang out with other white people? I mean, I wouldn't be banning black people or anything...but I guarantee it wouldn't fly...not for a second. There's ALL KINDS of bars like that and there's nothing wrong with the way it's done (which is similar to the way that gay bars cater to gays). I myself am planning on opening a restaurant one day and black people are going to be its target demographic. Being a black guy, when I was single I was a pretty prolific club-hopper and about 95% of the time I went out it was to a "black club" or "black bar." The 5% of the times were when I would go out with white or Hispanic friends and we'd go to those kinds of places, respectively. I mean, of course it's not called that, or recognized that way, but blacks, whites, and Hispanics all listen to different types of music so it isn't hard to tell. If a white person wants to go to a black bar and vice versa there's nothing preventing them from doing so. There's nothing nefarious about it.
