  1. BTW in the comments section on Slate there are a bunch of random conservatives defending O'Donnell/trolls saying that she is right because the phrase "separation of church and state" is not in the Constitution. Well no s*** the PHRASE "separation of church and state" is not in the Constitution but the general idea is there in the First Amendment, the phrase itself came from Thomas Jefferson (who conveniently happens to be one of the founding fathers). This is irrelevant and to cling to this as some kind of validation is only to validate one's own willful ignorance. There are a lot of PHRASES that aren't in the Constitution. Find me "states' rights," "gun rights," "civil rights," "separation of powers," "checks and balances." For extra credit find me "capitalism" or "corporation." If you tell me about anything in the Constitution I'm sure I can come up with a phrase that's not there and I can pretend something is or is not in the Constitution. Using this silly non-logic, I could argue that because the word "capitalist" is not in the Constitution, America is a socialist country. The other thing I saw that kept getting brought up is how "the media" "ignores" the fact that Coons didn't/couldn't name all 5 freedoms in the 1st Amendment. The author put it right in the middle of the god damn article. So much whining about bias, it's convenient when you can just say it's there whether it actually is or not.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 03:28 PM) But then again, the Bears are right at the top of the league in defense and have quality guy at the QB position. The Bears look bad right now but they're no where near the worst run franchise in the NFL, that's just hyperbole. Looking at the last year in a vacuum Angelo has been nearly a complete bust. The criticism of the Cutler trade that was valid was in how much he gave up for him. That wasn't really the problem... so they lost a first and second that year and a first the next. He had enough picks to do something with. He needed to find at least one WR (Johnny Knox, hi, I am a rare non-mistake) and like 3 or 4 linemen (he didn't even try).
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 09:24 AM) WTF? So, not only does the Thomas family think Ms. Hill has something to apologize for, they think it's appropriate to 2 decades later place a call in the wee hours of a Saturday morning to Ms. Hill to ask for an apology, and they consider that to be an olive branch. Wow. "I'm not trying to say you're a lying whore. But I would like you to explain why you're such a lying whore because I am delusionally stuck on 20 years ago" QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 20, 2010 -> 10:24 AM) Funny tweet I just read regarding this:
  4. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 07:03 PM) Angelo is inept. Why sign Grant, not play him, then release him two weeks later. DUMBBBBBB. They need to try out lineman. Even ones off the street. It's like he is taking cues from Al Davis. If I spot the Raiders and the Bills, I can't think of an organization that's being run worse at the moment.
  5. My biggest complaint about Obama is either that he over-analyzes and outmaneuvers himself or he is a p**** (depending on how I feel that day).
  6. Forgot how bad ass of a movie RoboCop is.
  7. Ok so I have this friend who recently joined a MLM that's tried to pitch it to me several times, with an unequivocal "no" each time that gets more emphatic. She invited me to a webinar and I don't bother saying no anymore, I just start lying, I told her I had something to do for work and she says "Well happy form filling. Don't want to upset massa by taking a 30 min break to see somethng that could change you and your family's life forever." Sigh... that's just plain being brainwashed and she's condescending when she talks to me. It's to the point where I can't bring up any topic that has anything to do with work, money, or bills because she'll change the subject to that again. There used to be a person underneath all that.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 18, 2010 -> 05:44 PM) More from looney Joe: Could you imagine if a Dem said that? lol. About 7 jokes just popped into my head at once.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 06:53 PM) It's been so long since I've just sat around drinking white russians. Damn this adult responsibility and life. I would've liked to continue but such as it is, I'm on my way to work
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 04:41 PM) Memories... wait that was ol? sorry i drulk. cant spell.
  11. To eas the pain of thg tame I made myself some white russanisn but the more the Bears sucked the mor i drank. Now I am pretty messed up. I apologize for the spelling and incoprherence, hand-eye coordination is shot to s***.
  12. QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 04:04 PM) Seahawks (and Hester) gave Lovie's horrid decision alittle break (cept the timeouts). Earl Bennett leveled the punter. Bennett is an excellent blocker.
  13. Homemade White Russian is making this game easier to take.
  14. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) The Bulls don't have much of a post-game without Boozer and Gibson which means if the mid-range jumpers aren't falling then the Bulls aren't winning. Sounds awfully familiar
  15. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 03:06 PM) Right, but he can study film and have some more awareness presnap and point out potential blitzes. Normally, he does, but he can't make Frank Omiyale not be bad. Peyton Manning has never had a Frank Omiyale blocking for him.
  16. So when you are a QB and about to get sacked you can just shovel the ball forward?
  17. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 02:55 PM) Those are on Cutler too, he is the QB he is supposed to read the defense and call out the blitzes. Watch Peyton Manning and you will never see a blitz that he hasnt called out b4 snapping the ball.... Jay Cutler is not nor will ever be Peyton Manning. s*** hardly anybody can say that.
  18. Great job by the line again, Cutler sacked for a safety
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 12:42 AM) He may not like to sit, but I would like him to sit once in a while. I hear what you are saying though. I like his attitude, too. I like the guy personality wise. I probably would like him more if he was batting ninth for some reason. Of course I like Teahen personality wise as well, but not the player. The post about Juan's slow starts was informative as well. We can't afford Juan and Lexi to stink it up the first five weeks next season. They got to figure a way to get off to better starts. Same with the majoirty of our guys who were .200ish for so long early on. He's an ideal #9 hitter IMO and would be one of the better ones in the league. We just need to have someone better than him to lead off which is virtually impossible to come by.
  20. Year after year this team still can't prevent a 3rd and long conversion.
  21. Looked like the offense was starting to get a rhythm together at the end of the first half. They were totally out of sync most of the time.
  22. Cutler's completed 5 passes for 169 yards. lol. He's had several big gains and the rest of them, he can't buy a completion.
  23. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 17, 2010 -> 02:03 PM) Ok, I hear Bears fans wining already about the Bears not getting a Td that last drive. What the f*** did they expect. There was no time for anything. It's plenty acceptable to b**** about the line... no reason that shouldn't have been a TD. Cutler gave his best effort but he can't escape being sacked and turn every play into positive yardage.
  24. This just in: Chicago Bears still have the worst offensive line in the NFL.
