  1. I had mentally written off this game since Grienke was starting, I'm glad I ended up watching it.
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 31, 2009 -> 05:15 PM) Getz on his way to 2nd may have had something to do with it. GREAT WIN!! Yeah I realized that after I posted it.
  3. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 31, 2009 -> 05:12 PM) Fields should've been at third easily, but held up because BA was tagging. Getz was all up ons. Yeah, I guess he should've just held up, but it was a weird situation. Yeah like I was saying in my last post I forgot about Getz. Fields got kind of left out to dry once Getz ran up and BA tagged. Hey, I'll take it though, usually our stupid baserunning miscues end up costing us runs, not producing them.
  4. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ May 31, 2009 -> 05:11 PM) Josh did what he was supposed to do...watch the 3rd base coach. He was stopping BA. BA ran through it. Getz ran up on Fields. Fields got caught in no man's land. But, a three spot is good. Ah I forgot about Getz, obviously Fields couldn't go back to 2nd if Getz already advanced.
  5. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 31, 2009 -> 05:09 PM) Twas pretty much BA's fault from what I could tell. They did not show a replay of the baserunning. How do you figure? Because he ran through the hold sign? I don't know, that doesn't explain why Josh went to 3rd.
  6. QUOTE (mr_genius @ May 31, 2009 -> 05:07 PM) KC just couldn't resist a cheap shot like that It's pretty routine coming from KC.
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 31, 2009 -> 05:06 PM) If only Josh actually ran the bases right. Might be a 8-4 game if that happened. KC announcers: "now on his way to third is Josh Fields, I don't know what that was all about"
  8. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 31, 2009 -> 05:04 PM) Looked like Getz limped off the field there a bit. That was the first time I've heard anybody say "strawberry" in a while.
  9. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 31, 2009 -> 05:01 PM) I'd take a sac fly, but hey a gapper would be pretty sweet here.
  10. I'd take a sac fly, but hey a gapper would be pretty sweet here.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ May 31, 2009 -> 04:59 PM) Good eye by Fields. Please, please put Nix in to run for AJP on a shallow sac fly. I trust Getz to be able to get a sac fly.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 31, 2009 -> 04:56 PM) There really is no point to Betemit taking up a roster spot anymore. lol, I think you have a quota for # of times this needs to be said - it's true, though. And when he does get used it seems like it's never in the right situation.
  13. QUOTE (qwerty @ May 31, 2009 -> 05:29 AM) I meant to put with ''a substantial amount of plate appearances''. I f***ed that up. From 25 to 50, 50 to 100, 100 to 200, etc, is simply a ginormous difference. 12 active hitters (they have all played at some point this season) have more strikeouts in their careers than base hits. All of these hitters have more than than 250 hits and less than 2100 hits... so who are they? There are 5 players that i would be shocked if they are not guessed correctly. Jim Thome is one without a doubt, I'd also guess Ryan Howard and Nick Swisher. Does Juan Uribe count?
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2009 -> 04:42 PM) I believe the thinking was that since Miguel Cabrera was ready at 20 than Viciedo would be as well. I love Soxtalk. lol, despite the silly s*** that people say on a regular basis here and the minimum 3 facepalms per day, I honestly do love this place.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2009 -> 04:30 PM) Viciedo BB/K is 0.13 (that's really, really, really bad). .653 OPS. And his D at third seems to be borderline horrible. He's 6th in the Southern League in RBI. So that's something to feel good about. But he's nowhere near ready for the show yet. So, yeah, I'd go with Beckham. Viciedo's been steadily improving with the bat, but yeah, he is still nowhere near ready. I'm not sure why some of us even thought he was during ST.
  16. Ughhhh I would not give up Richard and Poreda for Bedard... Peavy is one thing, but not Bedard. He just wouldn't make it here.
  17. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 31, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) Anderson would be 3-3 for 3 HR's and 7 RBI's if he had started today QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 31, 2009 -> 04:00 PM) Brian Anderson Clemente would be a great matchup against Greinke? Uh, guys. Read what I wrote
  18. Good thing Wise started, I guess it's better that a lefty goes 0-3 against the best pitcher in the AL than a righty. Or something.
  19. QUOTE (qwerty @ May 31, 2009 -> 04:05 AM) Pujols currently has more RBIs (122) with the bases loaded than he does plate appearances (118). This is an extremely rare occurence. Also, jose paniagua is one of only nine pitchers to balk in their first two games, all nine coincidentially made their debuts in the national league. Alexei Ramirez - 25 PAs, 30 RBIs Obviously not trying to compare Alexei to the best offensive player in the game, but just saying, yeah I love Alexei when the bases are loaded.
  20. QUOTE (BearSox @ May 30, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) I never understood why Hawk drooled over this guy so much. He's a bad player. He's got some big time pop, but he only makes contact a little over half the time. At best, he's a backup CI who can pinch hit late in a game when you need a home run. With Smoak tearing up AA, odds are he could be called up soon. Same reason he drools over Gomez I guess.
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 30, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) I will long say that I'm not certain there is another site in all of baseball with the in depth minor league knowledge of there specific team more than Soxtalk. And its a compliment to everyone on here. lol, his comeback to your post was to say you misspelled asinine.
  22. Please give me a link to that so I can do some flaming.
