Will White Sox fans also boo BA if he goes 0/8?
Well since this thread got bumped when Brian "Cracka Ass Cracka" had a s***ty game, it's only fair that it get bumped again when he raises his stats too, right? .273 BA, .429 OBP. No power yet.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 11:36 AM) Tracking 2 of my favorite overhyped Twins OFs: Delmon Young: .200/.226/.300, 9 K's in 30 AB's (Only XBH was against Buehrle on a wall scraping home rune) Carlos Gomez: .125/.176/.219 9 K's in 32 AB's 2/1 SB/CS I don't even know who really hypes Gomez, besides Hawk.

That's A White Sox Winner!
Man, that game was fun to watch. Great performance by Gavin and the entire offense got in on the fun. 3-4 against the Rays, in Tampa, awesome.

QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 04:19 PM) The thing about all those quentin metrics is he just tries to hit the ball hard and a lot of them go out, hes a line drive hitter first but his power leads to lots of drives being home runs. Hes just a great hitter. And he was that when he was tearing up the minors too. Him doing this in the majors when healthy shouldn't be much of a surprise.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 04:13 PM) Yeah, that pisses me off too. What would Danks' record be if he had half the run support Gavin has received since 2008? Why in the world is JO(ke) playing in CF with BA going to right? Because the score is 12-2

QUOTE (goblue5699 @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 04:12 PM) He had something like 20% of his fly balls last year hit for home runs, which was good for about 7th in baseball. He doesn't have the track record in the majors where you would project that to happen again this year. He also hit 5 "lucky" home runs last year. Those two things along with him coming off a wrist injury and it seems pretty reasonable to think that he wasn't going to hit 40 home runs if he stayed healthy all year. http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/baseball...2k9_30qwhitesox Most of his major league numbers before 2008 were irrelevant because he'd been injured so much. There is no such thing as a lucky home run. Over the fence is over the fence.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) Im going to preface this by saying I love Boers and Bernstein, but I was listening to them before the season started and they were talking about Quentin and Boers said "I dont think Quentin is going to come close to what he did last year homerun-wise", to which Bernstein followed up his comment by saying "Every metric points to Quentin regressing and not having a year like he had last year." I cannot WAIT until September rolls around so I can ask him what Metrics he was referring to like he does to callers Yeah, this explains my mocking tone in these game threads every time CQ homers.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 04:00 PM) Sorry about bad mouthing Thome earlier in the thread. Ya but how many of Quentin Hr's this year fit in the category of the "barely making it " thread? lol, 100% of them could fit that category for all I care.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) Can Owens make it back-back-back? That would be funny as hell.

THOME!!! By the way Quentin's leading the majors in homers again.

Carlos's limp, powerless right wrist deposits another souvenir into the left field bleachers.

Very early in the season, but Getz is now up to .290 and OBP up over .350.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 03:42 PM) I might get ripped for this but I think it goes to show what's happening when all your top flight pitchers can go all out. Not to say Garza and Kazmir are holding back but I think when everything's ratcheted up a notch in the playoffs, you see true talent shine. I dunno, we played like s*** in Tropicana last year.

Sox @ Rays, 12:38, CSN
Don't look now, but we've hit the s*** out of the Rays in this series.

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) Also Garza went to the dugout and started yelling all over the place Seemed like the ump was squeezing the s*** out of him though.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 03:24 PM) Can someone elaborate on what happened and what is currently going on? AJ was on 1st and Dye on 2nd, BA hit a ball that deflected off Garza's glove and got to first safely, Garza badly overthrew it allowing Anderson to advance to 2nd and AJ to 3rd, and Dye scored. Then Getz singled into right and AJ and Anderson scored.
-
Sox @ Rays, 12:38, CSN
Heh, AJ turns around to high-five Anderson as he crosses the plate knowing he was right behind him.
