  1. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 04:37 PM) After 50 years, there really isn't one. As I said earlier, I just think it's a case of "America was wrong, AGAIN, let's fix it"... since that's about all Obama can say or do. And frankly, the US isn't "wrong" but I know all you libs love this touchy feely adminstration saying America loves everyone again. Meh I don't really see it that way. He talked about this during the campaign in so many words, if something isn't working, then try something else.
  2. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) Say it isn't so!! Let the Owens bashing re-commence. The harder I bashed Wise the better he seemed to do, so let's see how this goes when I bash Owens. I never really put much effort into Owens bashing before.
  3. I'm worried about Carlos's wrist. He should have about 7 homers by now and he only hit 2 today. He also had 3 hits and one was only a single. What's going on?
  4. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 04:33 PM) They also said that Dye is good defensively. rofl, yeah in 2006.
  5. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) the biggest scandal in all this is how the facist media is treating these so called pirates. the correct term to use when referring to these young men is 'economic freedom fighters'.
  6. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 04:24 PM) nate silver predicted the 2005 white sox would win 80 games. just something to keep in mind Silver also predicted the 2008 general election and only missed Indiana by a couple of points.
  7. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 04:27 PM) Yeah it really isn't. It means more Owens.
  8. I think I very well may be the biggest Wise basher on this board after Kalapse, but I hope he recovers soon. The play he got hurt on was a critical one.
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) He would have to hit a gapper to deep right center that bounces around a whole lot, meanwhile, Granderson and Maggs would both have to trip over the grass and tumble a couple times for this to happen... Well he did have a triple last year and 2 stolen bases, still not sure how that happened.
  10. Oh, Menendez, I forgot about him. Party affiliation doesn't really matter if they're Cuban because they all support the embargo. I never really figured out why, either. Not a single person has ever given me a coherent argument for it.
  11. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) Who else are we going to use? You can't pitch Dotel, Thornton, Linebrink and Jenks everyday. ESPECIALLY Linebrink. I'm backing out of this argument with the knowledge that I jumped into a classic Soxtalk overreaction during a game thread.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:35 PM) And what's the sample size for Carrasco's struggles? Touche, but I don't believe he'll repeat last year, and I don't like him being used so much.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:21 PM) Isn't the biggest opponent to easing restrictions on Cuba actually a Democrat congressman from NJ? Chris Smith? He's a Republican. Actually the only real resistance to this is the hard right (the part of the country that would resist making it illegal to toss bowling balls off an overpass if Obama signed a law for it) and older Cuban exiles.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:32 PM) LOL. 2 guys which AAA ERAs over 10.00 so far this season.Marquez gave up 6 runs in less than 2 innings in his AAA outing. I think you're overreacting. Sample size
  15. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:23 PM) D.J. Carrasco belongs in the minors somewhere. Agreed. Give me Egbert or someone. This is somewhere that we have options.
  16. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:17 PM) clearly. Cant wait to see the GOP response. Conservatives are something like split down the middle.
  17. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:11 PM) I only said that because you had just a minute ago suggested people who call it soda be slapped in the face, and since you were already talking about how calling something a different name as opposed to someone else I could only assume your jacket post was serious. Honest mistake *soda pop
  18. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) Does Stone do the "Yes!" in stereo with Hawk when the Sox homer? So far from what I've seen, he just lets Hawk do the home run calls (one thing I've always loved about Hawk no matter how much I complain about him)
  19. Carlos Quentin's wrist injury has clearly affected his power this season. He is down to only 2 home runs a game.
  20. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) I am aware of this concept of sarcasm, your post just wasn't useful in showing it Especially considering you think its called "pop" If you figured that what I said was so ridiculous that what you'd feel the need to suggest that someone punch me in the face, I'd say the sarcasm there should have been pretty obvious.
  21. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) Anderson sucks as much , so you would want a guy that sucks to replace a guy that sucks? It's pretty bad ass that you assume I'm in love with Anderson. Haven't we been over this before? I think Anderson sucks too. OK?
  22. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) He's definitely coming around. Taking the pressure off and putting him later in the lineup has really helped him it seems. Meh, he had a streak last year, and I wasn't convinced then either. I don't mind him playing every now and again, I just don't like that we don't have a better player to give all those ABs he gets to.
  23. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:57 PM) wow...dude's swinging the bat well and makes a game-changing catch and he still gets bashed. Who's bashing him besides me? All I said was that I still think he sucks, but I hope he's ok. I haven't changed my mind, that would take a while. I'm not going to be one of those "well where were you when..." type of people.
  24. I still think Wise sucks, but I hope he's ok.
