Breaking News: Sox acquire Scott Sullivan
DonkeyKongerko replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Here's the thing. We need some right-handed help in the bullpen. Scott Sullivan is a big step in the right direction. -
Did anyone notice Miguel Olivo looked like he had half of a clue at the plate these past couple nights? I hope I don't jinx anything but I saw Miguel lay off a significant number of low breaking balls during this series.

We are at least competitive on the road on the East Coast. Let's pay no more attention to that other coast.

Sox seek a little revenge against the not-alone-in-last-place Rangers. 1) Who will win the series (CHW/TEX/Split) (2 points)? 2) Will Neal Cotts get a win (Y/N) (2 points)? 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 4) How many times will Miguel Olivo strikeout (4 points)? 5) What will Mark Buehrle's season ERA be after the series (I will give .01 either way) (5 points)? 6) How many RBI will Carlos Lee have in the series (5 points)? 7) How many earned runs will Bartolo Colon allow (4 points)? 8) Will Carl Everett have at least 5 hits in the series (Y/N) (2 points)? 9) Who will be in 2nd place in the AL Central after the series (2 points)? 10) Will Hank Blalock hit a homerun (Y/N) (2 points)? TIEBREAKER: Total runs scored in the series by both teams

Tony, Paulie, Carl, or Miggy (1 each) 8) Will someone on the Sox get a save (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes 9) Who will be in 2nd place in the AL Central after the series (2 points)? Time to start a new thread titled: "Remove the fork from this team, but don't throw it away".
-
Jerry Manuel will be fired the day after the World Series ends, unless the Sox are holding the trophy.
-
Season series? Against an AL West opponent!?! Let's make that two with a sweep of Texas!!
-
I heard they are enforcing it on roads like I-57 to Champaign but I'm not sure if it will be enforced on the Chicago expressways. It's a law that is already in place in a number of southern states.

These are his stats in AAA Sacramento. From what I remember, he calls a great game but not many teams can afford to keep his bat in the lineup.

French popstar Alizee There's a whole thread about her on OT board.
-
I don't know about Mark. I think Buffalo Grove native Josh Paul has made some tremendous strides at the plate this year.
-
Seeing the Sox get to the World Series and taking it to seven games would be awesome no matter how they lost it. I may have nightmares and such but just seeing them there would be so sweet. It also means they probably would have won a home playoff game or two on the way there

Who would you choose as your ace?
DonkeyKongerko replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I like these guys: Prior, Mulder, Harden, Willis, Javier Vazquez and Brandon Webb. -
You can get a program called a stream ripper. I've used them for windows media and other streams but never real audio. I'm pretty sure one exists if you look up "real video stream ripper" and you can turn the streaming video into something solid on your HD.

We swept Baltimore at home earlier this year as well. Texas swept us last weekend for the first time since 1992.
-
I'm curious what you all think: There are 29 other major league ball clubs. How many of them would still have Jerry Manuel as their manager in a season like this year?
-
I think it's in writing: JM said Frank will play some first "on this roadtrip". Well wtf else could "this roadtrip" be referring to. I swear the guy is completely clueless from one day to the next.

Ok, I didn't think so. For a second I thought the Sox were in Texas but maybe not. YNOT crew also forgot to bring the bats this week. 1) Who will win the series (CHW/TEX) (2 points)? TEX 2) Will Miguel Olivo have an extra-base hit (Y/N) (2 points)? No (baby steps...) 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 2 4) How many hits will Carl Everett have (4 points)? 3 5) How many HRs will the Sox hit (5 points)? 4 6) How many pitches will Bartolo Colon throw (I will give 3 either way) (5 points)? 63 7) How many strikeouts will Esteban Loaiza have (4 points)? 5 8) Will Neal Cotts pitch more than 4 innings (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes 9) Which team will score more runs (CHW/TEX) (2 points)? TEX 10) Will Rafael Palmeiro hit a HR (Y/N) (2 points)? Season's not over yet. Maybe somebody should tell the White Sox. 1) Who will win the series (CHW/ANA) (2 points)? 2) Which bullpen will issue more walks (CHW/ANA) (2 points)? 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 4) How many basehits will Jon Garland allow (4 points)? 5) What will Joe Crede's average be after the series (.002 either way) (5 points)? 6) How many different Sox players will have a multi-hit game during the series (5 points)? 7) Who will lead the Sox in doubles (4 points)? 8) Will someone on the Sox get a save (Y/N) (2 points)? 9) Who will be in 2nd place in the AL Central after the series (2 points)? 10) Will Tim Salmon hit a homerun (Y/N) (2 points)? TIEBREAKER: Attendance on Monday night

To have a road trip like we just had and lose a small amount of ground is a blessing I think. If we can minimize the damage here this should boost the team on its return home. Everyone will return to the Cell and be like "Hey, we're still only 2-3 games out".
-
I appreciate
-
It was falling intonation throughout this entire sentence. "High fly ball belted deep right field... and Geoff Jenkins has done it again"
-
Even if we lose Bartolo which we probably will. The core of this team should return for 2004. Also Manuel will be fired barring a serious playoff run that gets us at least 6 games into the ALCS. Something tells me a fresh manager with a fresh attitude could spark something in this team in spring training. After 5 years I think alot of our guys are tired of the same old s*** day in day out.
