  1. Now let's hope our team does the right thing and does not pick him up.
  2. I think that double play in the 8th killed what little momentum this team might have had tonight.
  3. I love these Burly gems. The ones that go fast and we win. I have no need for drama.
  4. Aaron robs Benji Molina of a HR on a high towering drive to center field. Nice jump at the wall to bring it back. Then with two outs I think Wooten singled up the middle and Spezio came around third. Rowand guns him out at the plate by a good fifteen feet. He saved a couple of runs that inning and then went on to a score run the next inning.
  5. Jeff Weaver is just horrid. Also I don't think the Yankees were ready for KC. We got ambushed by KC at the beginning of the season. Minnesota has sucked against KC all year. I think no one is really ready for KC until after they've played them. The good thing is I think the Sox have figured them out for the most part.
  6. Here is what I see. I see a person who admits he doesn't pay any attention to the minor leaguers and what they can do. Neal Cotts comes up and makes ONE START and he says the guy does not belong in the major leagues. This profound assessment is based on seeing Neal pitch exactly 2.1 innings of his career. I know Rex has seen Neal pitch a hell of alot more than 2.1 IP. Instead of telling us all that Neal does not belong because you have 14 years of baseball knowledge, you should have come on to Soxtalk and asked some people about Neal. For example, "Is this all Neal Cotts is about or can we expect more from him in the future?". Something along those lines would have been better than inciting a flame war with people who obviously know more about Neal Cotts than you. Now as far as the game went, Danny Wright did a heck of a job. I give him full credit for keeping us in that game. Now do I want to see him start again? I don't really think so. He has a way of getting into trouble in his starts and can't seem to avoid the big inning. He has disappointed a number of times in the starting role this season.
  7. I would really like to see Neal get a start at home. Debuting on the road is hella tough and Texas lights alot of people up down there. If he survives his start in Arlington I look for a good sized crowd to cheer him on at his Cell debut.
  8. Twins did lose at home. And if anyone saw, Pierzynski was up representing tying man with 2 out in the bottom of the ninth. He was facing Baez and blasted one to deep right doing a reverse imitation of the Fisk World Series HR. It hit the giant baggie in right field about a foot or two to the right of the fair pole. The fans were sittin right by it had a perfect view and they were all upset. AJ fouled off another 7 or 8 pitches and finally struck out. Ahhh I just love to see Cleveland beat Minnesota.
  9. Bumpity bump bump. Call me Nostradamus. Ok I am done patting myself on the back.
  10. I am 2 for 2!!!! I had Ginter as my avatar before he got called up. Then if you remember I used to have Adkins in my avatar. Now Adkins gets called up!! I called it!!
  11. I always smile when I see this picture. I think this was the game Caruso and Mark Johnson hit the HRs.
  12. Schoeneweis has way better stuff than Rick White. He just has to learn how to control it. I see him as a bit of a project for Cooper to turn him into the starter we all think he can be.
  13. My comcast was out almost all day yesterday.
  14. Hitting triples in the corner with Robbie on 1st and 2 out off Rich Harden should count as 2 RBIs cuz its so damn clutch.
  15. Sorry I should defer to the Buehrle expert in abozichiu. I meant debut as a major league starter.
  16. The HOF is a sure thing. So I say lets all worry about the TITLE.
  17. With all this Neal Cotts excitement let us remember the debut of another left-handed White Sox starter. July 19, 2000 (N) at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome Chicago White Sox IP H HR R ER BB K Buehrle W(1-0) 7 6 0 2 2 1 5 Simas 0.1 2 0 0 0 0 1 Foulke SV(17) 1.2 0 0 0 0 1 1 Totals 9.0 8 0 2 2 2 7 Keith Foulke? Whatever happened to him??
  18. Adkins. Because he was in my avatar earlier. Last player in my avatar was Ginter and he came up shortly thereafter. Plus Adkins is on the 40-man already.
  19. Is Pedro Martinez worthy of consideration? He was out for a bit but the numbers are otherwise every bit as impressive as the rest.
  20. Sorry was busy unpacking stuff from Champaign to Schaumburg trip. Got my comp up now so I'm all set.
  21. Four game set in Cali. Hope it goes better for the Sox fans out West than last year. I have a good feeling. 1) Who will win the series (CHW/ANA/Split) (2 points)? 2) Will Frank Thomas have at least 4 hits (Y/N) (2 points)? 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 4) Who will lead the Sox in extra-base hits (4 points)? 5) How many homeruns will the Sox hit (5 points)? 6) How many baserunners will Mark Buehrle allow (5 points)? 7) How many games ahead or behind will the Sox be in the AL Central (4 points)? 8) Will Neal Cotts get a win (Y/N) (2 points)? 9) Will the Sox have any ten-hit games (Y/N)(2 points)? 10) Will Gary Glover allow an earned run (Y/N) (2 points)? TIEBREAKER: Pitch count for Neal Cotts
  22. Nuthin. Next year I think I'm gonna have a point system. Starter will get u more points than bench next year. For now, don't worry about it.
  23. Well Oakland is supposedly "good" even though I think they've got serious offense problems to address. We beat Mark Mulder who we never beat before. We beat Rich Harden who nobody beat before. Answers: 1) Who will win the series (CHW/OAK) (2 points)? CHW 2) Will Carlos Lee bat over .300 for the series (Y/N) (2 points)? No 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 1 4) How many earned runs will Esteban Loaiza give up (4 points)? 1 5) How many hits will the Sox get off Mark Mulder (5 points)? 10 6) How many pitches will Jon Garland throw (I'll give five either way) (5 points)? 95 7) Which Sox hitter will have the most walks (4 points)? Frank, Sandy, or Willie 8) Will Magglio Ordonez have a multi-hit game (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes 9) Which team's starters will pitch more innings (CHW/OAK) (2 points)? CHW 10) Will Keith Foulke get a save (Y/N) (2 points)? No TIEBREAKER: Sox team batting average for the series .290 Well we all know Detroit has to win once in a while...
