When a team scores 6 runs they should win a game
White gave up 4 runs in a 5-5 ballgame. He doesn't give up any and we still score we go up 6-5 and there is a huge momentum swing. Unfortunately we never got past that inning because White gave up a couple of 2-out doubles. Earlier on Porzio gives up a 2-out i believe 0-2 HR to Julio Lugo. TB scored 6 runs with 2 out.

Retrosheet is a great website.

Back from the mountains and WOW!
Wow welcome back. You can shower now cuz the Sox did finally lose. Hurry up though cuz they are gonna start winning again very soon. Most exciting was the 9th inning come back against Toronto and then the 2nd game was a 13 inning 4-3 win against Toronto. A lot of clutch hitting and dominant pitching from starters and Gordon/Marte has kept us rolling.

Will we rebound tomorrow?
I used to get mad at DJ every time he jinxed the team. Last year it seemed like every time the Sox were about to rally he'd say something about how they're getting better lately and then they would ground into a double play. Then I realized I don't believe in jinxing and thats really just making an excuse for this team failing to execute. So I will go ahead and pick win and win 2/3 from the Royals because theres nothing wrong with feeling like this team is better than Kansas City.

I hope no one is stressing over today's loss
If we score 6 runs behind Buehrle, Colon, Garland, or Loaiza we usually win. We can rack up alot of wins like this.

How far will we go?
I will say this team has one thing going for it in the playoffs. A good solid rotation and solid defense. We also have a bullpen thats not too shabby if you compare to the Yankees or Red Sox or even Seattle lately has been iffy. The problem is this is a homerun hitting team. We usually live and die by the long ball with few exceptions. Long ball teams usually don't go far in the playoffs because you face the top pitchers in the league that don't give up long balls. Teams that manufacture tend to win the playoff series. Teams like Anaheim of 2002 and not Chicago of 2003.

Ginter Up, Porzio Down
Glover has been historically god-awful at starting. I seriously doubt he is being given another chance. A trade seems most likely since I think Ginter will be valuable to us in the bullpen.

Who is paying Billy Koch?
Naw if I loved him I woulda made my screename Koch This. At least Kongerko had some good years with the Sox.

And we NEED them for almost all of these teams we're facing the rest of the season. Very smart you are. If only JM were half as smart.

I agree. Bring up a young guy who we think will pan out to be a starter for this team someday soon. No more of this career minor league reliever retread garbage we toss out there.

Who is paying Billy Koch?
This guy isn't a 2-pitch pitcher hell he isn't even a one pitch pitcher. If you can't throw 100mph any more, learn to pitch god damnit. I'm sick and tired of seeing him trot out there and try to get guys out with the same straight low 90's stuff. I mean he rarely pitches in close games anymore, he might as well try and learn to work batters in and out, up and down and change speeds or something. Instead he usually gets hit hard his first couple batters, then tries to aim every pitch and walks a few then gives up some big flies. He just seems so baffled that everyone he pitches to can reach base like it's a big mystery. Did this guy ever learn to pitch in the first place?

Nice play saving Koch from a runner on third one out.

White Sox-D'Rays on WGN Tonight
Wow does this remind anyone of the first Detroit game? Koch gives up a late run and Sox lose 10-9... It couldn't happen twice could it? Omg 1 more post til the big 1000.

White Sox-D'Rays on WGN Tonight
Agreed. Nobody pitches to Huff in that situation. You never let the opponent's best player beat you in situations like that. No excuse.

White Sox-D'Rays on WGN Tonight
Roberto is the master of hitting grounders up the middle past the pitcher. Ok guys time to HOLD EM. I know its TAMPA BAY and all but lets try and not let them score 10 ok? Thanks.

White Sox-D'Rays on WGN Tonight
Glad to see one manager in this game knows when to pull a pitcher.

White Sox-D'Rays on WGN Tonight
4 for the Sox, followed by 4 for Tampa Bay. Hopefully we can win in spite of our s***ty pitchers. We need a 5th starter badly.
