  1. Yeah I also heard Sammy got almost NO votes by the players. Obviously Sammy has lost a little respect. BWAHAHAHHAHAHA
  2. Congratulations on a job well done. Sammy probably a reserve. Maybe we'll get to see him strikeout as a pinch hitter late in the game.
  3. I don't know why it says this but here is the link at the bottom of the recap. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/gamecenter/r...20030706_CHW@TB OMG YES PUJOLS WINS THE ALL STAR VOTE AND SOSA IS NOT A STARTING OUTFIELDER. CONGRATS TO ALL THE SOX, CARDS, NL, AL, and BASEBALL FANS EVERYWHERE FOR REALIZING WHO DESERVES TO START THE ALL STAR GAME IN THE OUTFIELD FOR THE NATIONAL LEAGUE.
  4. Sportsline says that E-Lo and Everett have been picked to the All Star Game.
  5. Yeah Everett's at bat kinda pissed me off at the end but I know he is aggressive and he did swing at a nice pitch down the middle. He just swung too hard maybe and got underneath it. The good news is Minny and KC are both losing by a bunch as i write this.

    Guys

Even though we lost today and yesterday. I feel alot better about today's loss for some reason. Maybe because we showed some of that life in the 9th inning and I think we are gonna bounce back on that. I think the main reason is cuz billy boch didn't pitch today and I don't have to be reminded with how much he sux ballz.
  7. Reason we lost this game = Miguel Olivo. He made a couple of great throws but...he made two HUGE mental mistakes. Batting with bases loaded he was ahead in the count and swung at 3 balls in the at bat. Biggest mistake he made was throwing to third on the sac bunt. He really had no shot at the runner and the eventual winning run was not the guy on third but the guy on first since we lost the game 3-2. Miguel is young so I can't totally rip on him but I hope he has learned from this game.
  8. I want to ask Miguel Olivo if he has ever seen a slider in his life.

    Minors

Anyone know how many options Ginter has left? IIRC he has been up a couple of times. I guess I should know since he is my avatar.

    Koch

I hope he is hurt and they find out soon so he can get some surgery. Otherwise it just means his arm is shot and he will never again be throwing above 95 mph. From what I hear, all the Sox doctors and training staff say there is "nothing wrong with Billy Koch".
  11. Thanks Koch, this team really needed that right now.
  12. Believe it or not Heads, if it ended today you would be our champ. It's a long season tho and you have whitesox247 and YASNY close behind you. As for a prize, I haven't decided yet. Maybe the Sox will provide their own prize.
  13. For the first time in its short history, YNOT plays a team other than the Cubs or the Twins. I know it's tough to get excited but hey we are playing the Devil Rays! The Rays are 17-27 at home but don't let that fool you. They are coming off a series win over reeling Boston and now turn their attention to the real Sox. Here we go: 1) Who will win the series (CHW/TB) (2 points)? 2) Will Paul Konerko have an extra base hit (Y/N) (2 points)? 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 4) Who will lead the Sox in batting average (min. 4 ABs) (4 points)? 5) How many double plays will the Sox turn (5 points)? 6) How many times will Carlos Lee get on base (5 points)? 7) Which Sox reliever will have the most strikeouts (4 points)? 8) Who will throw the most pitches, Colon, Loaiza, or Garland (2 points)? 9) Who will have an RBI, Carl Everett, Roberto Alomar, or both (2 points)? 10) Will Rocco Baldelli hit safely in all three games (Y/N) (2 points)? TIEBREAKER: How many total bases will the Sox have in the series?
  14. I don't want to ruin this run we're having by KW trading with Billy Beane. Maybe Beane just wants Cotts back really bad. He has hosed us enough for me to implore Kenny, "NO MORE TRADES WITH OAKLAND, EVER". Btw cw, does Green Day still release albums?
  15. White is becoming the go-to guy in middle relief. I rooted for him when he sucked and now it's finally paid off. The best thing I like about him is he didn't whine when the fans booed him. He knows fans reward performance on a day-to-day basis and he is putting his money where his mouth is.
  16. omg thanks HSC, too bad i already missed PK's HR.
  17. Hits for cycle eh? I think I'll take that any day of the week
  18. Nailed the 2 5-pointers. That's 10 points in the bank right there. It was close though.
  19. It's been a while hasn't it? The long awaited sweep doesn't even want to come after 9 innings on Wednesday nite. In the 11th it looks like a lost cause until Paul Konerko brings out his bat and reminds Sox fans why he is on this team. Frank does yardwork to finish the job. Also welcome Roberto Alomar and Carl Everett to the South Side. I can't remember a 3 day stretch when so much positivity has surrounded this team. And now some positive answers: 1) Who will win the series (CHW/MIN) (2 points)? CHW 2) Will Rick White allow an earned run (Y/N) (2 points)? Yes 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 1 4) Who will lead the Sox in runs scored (4 points)? Carlos Lee and Frank Thomas 5) How many Sox players will have at least 4 hits in the series (5 points)? 2 6) How many strikeouts will Mark Buehrle have (5 points)? 5 7) How many bases will the Twins steal (4 points)? 1 8) Will any of the games be decided by one run (Y/N) (2 points)? No 9) Who will have more hits, Torii Hunter or Sox centerfielders (2 points)? Torii Hunter 10) Will Danny Wright get his first win of the season (Y/N) (2 points)? No TIEBREAKER: Total number of runs scored in the series for both teams. 34 It was a close race with a number of high finishers. Fortunately my boneheaded play of forgetting the tiebreaker did not come back and bite me like Merkle's boner. Here are the scores: THE WINNER: whitesox247 18 (-6) (1 win, 0 losses) THE REST: Soxheads 17 (+2) (1 win, 0 losses) Texsox 14 abozichiu 13 TheBigHurtBEGOOD 12 cwsox 11 YASNY 10 (1 win, 0 losses) moochpuppy 8 (+2) theoldroman 8 (-13) (0 wins, 1 loss) MartePartay 7 (-9) southsider2k3 4 (-7) (0 wins, 1 loss) Winning Ugly 4 (-10) THE LOSER: Mathew 4 (0 wins, 1 loss) Devil dogs up next at the Tropicana Cabana.
  20. In my relatively young life as a White Sox fan, I can find this past week or so second to only one moment in recent sox history. Seven Days in June 2000 is the only memory that tops my feelings right now.
  21. Complaints range from bad pitching changes, not stealing enough, and poor situational hitting calls. A few of them when asked have even said Jerry Manuel is a better manager than Gardy. I wouldn't go quite that far. Either way, I am very very very very VERY happy with Manuel right now.
  22. HAWK SOUNDED LIKE HE WAS ABOUT TO CRY IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Ok for the last time ppl. Zito was not born in Chicago, did not grow up in Chicago, and right now does not play in Chicago. Mark Mulder is the one from Chicago k?
