I think with D'Ang gone you have Harris backing up Alomar and more importantly on the bench for pinch running in those tight October games. Rowand becomes your fourth outfielder as he has good enough defensive skills to come in late for any of our guys. I think Everett needs to start in center because thats where the production is missing and keep Daubach in the lineup cuz he is really producing for us right now. No need to mess with what's working.

Everett had his good teams and his bad teams. All the fans seem to love Carl in Texas. He and Buck had a really close relationship apparently and it was really tough for him to even waive his no-trade clause and come. We will see which Carl shows up in Chicago. We are not heralding him as our savior, I think the pressure is off and he is coming into a hot lineup where he will be protected. Also he is coming the same day we pick up Robbie Alomar so he is not the only "new guy" that all the fans are gonna be watching closely. If everyone in the clubhouse gives him his space and treats him well I think Carl will fit in just fine.

Frank said Jimenez is "one of the casualties". I think that means no more DJ.

If I go purely from a media frenzy thing I have to like the way this was done. Two big deals in less than 24 hours giving us two pretty big names in MLB. A week before an All Star Game and a right after this team has taken 4 out of 6 from the fan-favorite Cubs.

Carl is a huge bat but just so we don't expect too much right away. He hit .239 with only 4HR in June.
